Best Hot and Sour soup outside of Chinatown in Chicago!
Great steamed dumplings.
Can't go wrong with
They are the best !Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 13, 2022Previous reviewThey are THE BEST ! The last time I had such great Chinese was in China Town in the City of Chicago.
They are serious.
Love their Hot and Sour soup. Not skimpy with flavorful ingredients like others in the area.
Excellent Kung Pao Chicken. Spicy as it should be. Generous ingredients.
They are the only place to go for Chinese here. - Oct 26, 2022
Got three dishes to go and it took only 15 min before we picked up our dinner. Each of the dishes had distinct flavor and portion was quite large.
Got kung Pao chicken, Singaporean mai fen and chicken with eggplant.
First two dishes had some kick but not overly spicy. Chicken dishes were $14 and came with rice, and the mai fen was $13.
Very flavorful without being too oily. Will be back to try more dishes!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matt L.Fairfield, CT1213251May 22, 2023

My favorite Chinese takeout in the area! Always a hit in our home. Can't wait to explore other items on the menu.

Only downside is no delivery. First time trying and all the food was really good. We had crab Rangoon, boneless spare ribs, pork fried rice, low mein, general tsaos chicken, sweet and sour chicken and shrimp with garlic sauce. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back.

VERY fresh Chinese food! The only one to go with in the area. Great portion sizes and never greasy

Best Chinese take out in Monroe. I have tried pretty much every Chinese place in town and this one is my favorite. Quality is great for Chinese take out, doesn't leave you feeling gross after. Other places in town are inconsistent and have been lacking in quality. Very happy with this place after being disappointed by my typical go to's (great fortune, peking tokyo). Will definitely be ordering from Xiang from now on.

Vegetable fried rice had an abundance of veggies - was packed to the brim - but someone who's used to eating fried rice with flavor, Either salt, garlic, or sesame, there was none. The veggies were fresh but nothing had any taste. I find this very very common for all Chinese restaurants in Monroe. It's like they are afraid of over season so they completely under season. I've tried shrimp Lo mein from here and again, fresh but zero taste. Nothing special. Just basic run of the mill noodles. New wok in Newtown has decent Lo mein, but if you're really looking for that smoky flavored amaziness try Tai Jiang in Fairfield. Oh also, worth mentioning, the woman who works behind the counter is relentlessly miserable, short, and dismissively rude. I thought the first time I just caught her on a bad day, but other people I've mentioned this to have said they experienced the same.

I just moved to Connecticut and will be moving to Monroe very soon. I have found my GO-TO restaurant for Chinese take-out. There aren't many options out here for good Chinese and so far it hasn't disappointed. Their lunch specials are nicely portioned, priced well, and taste good. I have enjoyed their hot and sour soup and the chicken with garlic sauce. Will be coming here again and often.
