Dang how did I sleep in this place for so long?!
Today I decided I'm gonna try all the coffee shops around cuz we have 1000
I'm nervous I just tried THE BEST one and setting myself up for disappointment
That heath bar mocha was insane!!!!! Mmmm creamy and still taste like coffee
Bacons egg and cheese croissant was just ok. Nothing to complain about. Nothing to brag about. I got flakes all over and it was awkward...but like, so good
Workers nice
Place is a fun vibe
Reminds me of a college coffee shop in a library...ppl on computers and chatting
Diff types of sitting areas....love!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eleanor F.SoMa, San Francisco, CA04May 15, 2024
People must come here because it's a cozy place to read and get some work done. Surely it's got nothing to do with their beverages .
I asked for a fruit smoothie and got a watery, overly sweet, cold soda of sorts. Smoothies are suppose to be thick and creamy. The cashier was rude when I asked if I could exchange my drink. I get it's not the best conversation when a customer brings their drink back because they don't like it, but jeez. She rolled her eyes at me and made me feel like it was a total crime to ask.
She ended up making me a matcha latte instead, which tasted like a vanilla milkshake. Again, wayyy too overly sweet. I couldn't taste any matcha in it. It made me feel nauseous so I left it on the table and left.
A few months ago, I tried to get an iced tea and they even messed THAT order up too. I wanted to give this place another chance because I like the atmosphere, but there are definitely other coffee shops I would pick over The Library.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 1, 20241 check-in
This is such a cute and cozy coffee shop! Nestled into a row of other shops, once you enter the shop, you'll see an array of different seating arrangements, with the order bar and menu right in front. If you don't find seating right away, be sure to check the next room on your left.
The menu has a variety of coffees and teas and a few different sandwiches too! They also have a case full of delicious-looking pastries. The drink I had was set a little too sweet for my liking, but my partner and I ended up mixing our drinks to a better sweetness level for both of us.
The staff was knowledgeable and we received our orders quickly. The place is very cozy with mismatched furniture and lots of smaller tables - if you plan to come in a group, know that there aren't very many large tables and plan to come early! There is WiFi so feel free to approach the staff for what that password is.
There's street parking available out front, and I saw a small lot behind that might also offer some spots. Overall, it was a cute little shop with such comfy vibes. I probably wouldn't travel all the way here for a short visit, but it was a nice spot to kill time.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 15, 2024
If you're looking for a nice, chill coffee spot that's also open at night, The Library is the place for you! I always get some hot tea (they have a small selection, but you can't go wrong with their options) the servers are friendly and the atmosphere is very dark, artsy vibe, which i always love! Sometimes it's hard to find seating and the parking is always a mission with street parking only, but it's worth it in my opinion!
Highly reccomend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 19, 2024
This place is the definition of cozy and laid back. One of my favorite local coffee shops purely on aesthetics, hospitality, and variety (pastries + drinks).
My dream coffee shop always includes a bookshelf and dark ambiance which this place has. Been coming for 2 years and still one of my favorite. Lots of people studying or getting work done.
The staff is phenomenal. The barista was so patient with me ordering my drink and let me sample a couple syrups. she deserves a raise. Wish I asked for her nameHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The golden tumeric coffee is so good, I have no clue why it's taken this long for me to try a drink like this. The vibes are excellent, with plenty of outlets, and free wifi?? How do we get these in ever city? I will be back here next time I'm in long beach 100%

The Library provides peace and quiet at last. Truth in advertising wins out for once. Here is what I deeply appreciate about The Library in a brief anecdote:
A man brought his big giant dog into The Library. The dog walked around sniffing, looking around, and smelling like a big giant dog. A Library employee approached the man & the following dialog (more or less) occurred:
Employee: Sir, you are welcome here. Unfortunately, I have to inform you that the dog is not allowed in the coffee shop.
Man: (Visibly upset): My dog was always allowed here before. It is just a dog. It is not going to hurt anyone.
Employee: The sign out front that reads "no pets" is very clear.
Man: (Now distraught) Okay. I understand. I'll go elsewhere.
If you do not understand how marvelous the above tale is then I don't know what to say. At some businesses there are actually rules to be followed. A dog has no purpose in a coffee place. & if you're so fragile that you cannot go anywhere without a dog, then a coffee place is not a good location for you or the pet.
Thank you The Library for being The Library and not a dog park. I'll continue to go here for coffee, peace, and quiet. It really is a tremendous blessing and necessity to have a place for people to go where barking dogs, mewling cats, and screaming toddlers are not the norm. Applause sign left on.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 2Business owner information

Adorable little coffee shop and library !
I feel like this place should be on a tv show or something lol it's seriously the cutest! I imagine a show about witches or magic, and hidden secrets in the library! Lol
There's lots of seating and plenty of people were here hanging out. Definitely a cute spot!
I ordered a Thai tea and it was good. My partner ordered a Vietnamese coffee and enjoyed that. Overall, this is a cute spot for a coffee date, or to come hangout with friends. It looked like a lot of people were studying in the back area.Helpful 8Thanks 1Love this 6Oh no 0 - ra l.Long Beach, CA5520471Apr 14, 20241 check-in
3.5 stars. Their mocha was not too good. Turkish coffee was ok. The atmosphere was very good. Nice staff. They have variety of drinks and food items and desserts I haven't tried yet.

when i entered, the ladies at the front didn't seem to excited to see me. i didn't let that ruin my experience however. i tried the matcha drink and it was just a regular matcha drink. i mostly go because i love the location and the fact that it has books. i dont know if they change up the books often but i like not knowing what's in store. the store is pretty big as well so i can sit in the corner and read some books without having the view of people going in and out.
