Love the patio, the place we go for cheap drinks, great bar food and hanging out. Been going here for years and best of all only a few blocks from home.

This place is fun and relaxing. Just a few negatives but overall a solid choice for a sports bar option.
Buffalo chicken dip-excellent
Loaded potatoes/boats-excellent
Steak salad. HIGHLY recommend this! Steak is great and salad is wonderful.
Burgers and chicken strips-"ok"
Tater tots were over cooked/roasted. Awful
I tend to get excited about tots, so when they are over cooked it is a real downer.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 23, 2023
So I came here on a Sunday with a group of 8. It was not that many people so we were able to seat ourselves which was pretty nice. The inside is big & has lots of space so definitely a good food spot for big groups. They have music playing over the speakers, quiet enough to where can still have a conversation.. but also loud enough to where you could sing the song if you knew it.
The food was just okay. I had the boscoe sticks as a starter & it completely turned me off from ordering an entree. My siblings however ordered multiple things from the menu & I was able to taste them.
I would no recommend the Buffalo Chicken Dip. It was not appealing to look at & taste wise was very bland & runny. The fries are great & that is what saved the review. The chicken wings were pretty cool as well.
All in all .. I probably will not visit again, but I enjoyed the date with my family.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 212282213Aug 23, 2022
Great food and service!
I came here with a friend, and we were seated quickly despite the crowd. Our server was extremely friendly! She made sure we got out drinks quickly and that our water/soda cups were filled.
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with tater tots, and wow! The chicken was crispy and spicy, and the cheese was the perfect combo to reduce the heat. The tots were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Plus, there was so much food that I had plenty leftover for the next day.
The only reason I knocked off a star is because my Coke Zero had a strange taste to it. I'm not sure what exactly was off, but it started to give me a mild headache and I had to stop drinking it. It could've been a one-off thing, but I will stay wary of their fountain drinks.
Overall, it's a great place to hang out and eat, and I'll definitely be back!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 35131242Aug 29, 2022
New to the neighborhood. Monday night. Red Door was super busy so I tried Brooksider. Big mistake. There were seats at the bar so I sat down. It needed to be cleaned but I figured the bartender would get to it. The regulars were drunk and mouthy on Monday at 7:30. I ordered a beer and asked for a menu. I got the beer, never a menu and the bartender didn't clean the bar. There were puddles of water and spilled beer. I handled it myself with a leftover stack of napkins, paid for my beer and left.
Never to return again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 4, 2021
The Thursday burger mania deal (house burger with choice of cheese and choice of side for $6.99) was a good value, and much less than the menu's current average $12 entrée price.
The burger was served with a buttered and toasted bun, a thick, juicy, and tasty meat patty, plenty of fresh toppings, and a generous portion of delicious fries (meaty with a crunch shell, and not greasy). Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for a medium burger, so I received the default burger, which was over-cooked on the outside but just right on the inside. I don't like a somewhat crunchy burger patty.
I liked the efficient, attentive service and the spacious seating area with TVs everywhere. The layout of the bar is nice, with a large, horseshoe-shaped bar in the middle, table seating on the sides, and booth seating at the rear. I also noticed slightly elevated private table areas near the front and a patio out back.
Overall, A-OK.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - Bart H.Kansas City, MO29582Apr 22, 2022
Upon a recent visit to the Brooksider, we were delighted to see a small crowd for mid afternoon during the week. We had wanted to watch the last three or four innings of a Royals game, and sat down at the bar for a couple of beers. We made the decision of leaving this place after only a few minutes. The bartender informed us that he had set all of the ceiling fans circling the bar area on high because "they like the airflow". The velocity of the airflow was absolutely ridiculous! He seemed to be completely apathetic to the fact that we were very uncomfortable sitting in what felt like a frigid down draft, and didn't seem to give a rats ass that we were leaving after we had already informed him that we would be there for the duration of the Royals game.
Just a neighborly advice to the ownership of this establishment. People like ourselves that live in the neighborhood like to be acknowledged as having made a conscious choice of patronizing your place. The expressed interest of the paying customers should be given at least one pennies worth of thought.
Really horrible experience!
Not for nothing, we actually had a wonderful time at the Red Door Grill (next door), and demonstrated our appreciation for their courtesy by giving them $90 worth of food and drink business while we enjoyed watching the ball game.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 8, 2021
The Brooksider is Back
COVID-19 Reopening
Yep, the 2019 Brooksider is back! Coming through the door the TV's are on, clusters of people imbibing and socializing, faces visible, friends shaking hands, plates of standard bar food coming out of the kitchen. The horseshoe shaped bar fully open, all the tables available, and deck / patio open for business. Freedom.
Street parking in front it handy but do not bet on getting a space. A better idea is to use the public lot in back.
Service is pretty good, even when the place fills up. The food is standard bar fare, with pizzas, sandwiches, and small plates. The quality is usually pretty average (of note: last night I ordered a rare cheese burger, the server even said, "rare cheese burger" when she served it, but after taking a couple of bites I looked and found it seriously well done! It did have good flavor, but I really wanted the added flavor of one not so cremated.)
Prices are what you should expect in a popular sports bar. You can get by for about $10 without drinks.
The bottom line is that it is a sports bar, and that is rightly its primary focus. They understand that and so do most of their customers. Watch the game, grab a brew, and wolf down a burger. This is the place!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
