3.5 stars.
I had a random craving for falafel. That's an easy enough craving to fix in New Orleans, but in Slidell? Not so much. I did some searches, found this place on Google, and decided to give them a shot.
I was ordering for multiple people, so I ended up getting 2 po-boys, a falafel wrap, and baklava. One of the people who got a po-boy said it wasn't regular mayo on the po-boy, but rather either tahini or tzatziki. Now mind you, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but could be jarring for someone not expecting it.
The falafel and baklava were mine. I thought that the falafel wrap was good: flavorful and saucy. It was a bit messy, but I seem to always make a mess when eating falafel sandwiches. I was excited about the baklava, but unfortunately it wasn't very good. Maybe it had been sitting for a while, I don't know, but the flaky pastry had lost some of its flakiness/crispiness and had become a bit chewy instead.
One odd thing is that you get your food bagged at the checkout counter, which is separate from the food counter. This doesn't sound bad in theory, but meant I ended up carefully holding 3 hot sandwiches, a small takeout container, and a menu while waiting in line at the checkout counter. The man at the register was very friendly though, and recommended their chicken shawarma; I'll have to try that at some point.
It bears mentioning that along with food and typical convenience store items, this place also has a meat counter/market. They sell things like raw steaks, ground meat, turkey wings, pork necks, chicken drumsticks, sausage, etc.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nola G.Leonidas, New Orleans, LA0124Apr 28, 2023

Called the restaurant to let them know I received spoiled chicken tenders and the owner decided to tell me that the chicken was fine. Sigh I know what spoiled chicken taste like.
I am really big on making things right. Just issuing a refund would have been nice. Will update in the morning if we get sick. Won't eat here again.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - lea c.Austin, TX218641859Jul 15, 2020
The only reason we went here was to get a shrimp Po boy my husband and I don't live in the area and it was late at night and this was the only place open along our path home. The pictures looked really good and they were not deceiving the young lady who took our order went back and after 15 minutes came back with the best convenience store Poboy that we've ever tasted this was a great option especially since it was the only option but I would definitely come back again to get another if I'm in the area.

Don't let the exterior fool you! This is a small, locally owned corner store that carries the usual convenient store items but also hides an amazing street-food deli. They specialize in Greek and Mediterranean cuisine as well as true Southern staples.
My favorite meal, and a great value for our family is the 1 pound-gyro box, which is enough to feed my family with four pita sandwiches and extra homemade Taziki sauce. I've tried their fried chicken, gizzards, po-boys & salads - nothing has disappointed. Everything is perfectly seasoned with spices, never dry and leaves you satisfied, portion-wise.
Fun Fact: They offer the biggest po-boy in town... 32 inchs!! And my oyster po-boy that fed the office was very reasonably priced. Much less than a neighboring competitors. The owner, Mo, Is very friendly and always has a smile and a kind word his customers.
Mo is begging me to try one of his new specials, beef gyro? That will definitely be my next review for this Slidell gem.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Darnell G.Slidell, LA531117107May 13, 2018
Love, love love the gyro and hummus! Had it 2 days in a row after trying it. Very fresh and taste delish. Great value for the price also. The store is super clean and organized. Can't wait to try something new next time. The menu is extensive from Greek to fried seafood and poboys. One stop shop too. Can get wine, liquor, sodas etc.

Just left stop to shop and I was impressed, ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich. It is absolutely the best shawarma I have had here in Louisiana. Thank you! Felt very welcoming as soon as I walked in the door, and I was greeted right away. I will definitely be coming back here!

My family and I frequent this corner store because the prices are reasonable the food is almost always great and the customer service is wonderful too. The menu option is extensive and delivery is fairly easy. However more often than not when I call in an order or order through the website it always comes back wrong. We have dairy allergies and ask for no cheese and no mayo on any sandwich we order, but they give us cheese and Mayo every time and when we call to return the sandwich or ask for a refund or exchange in the sandwich it's an argument and it's frustrating. I totally understand that mistakes are made occasionally, but too many of our orders are not made correctly. I cannot justify continuing to order food from Stop 2 Shop and not have it made correctly.
