My best friend and I absolutely love Sake House. We have gone many many times, but I haven't written a review in years.
It was a quiet Thursday evening and we were seated right away. Our server was absolutely amazing. She was kind, sweet and thoughtful.
We ordered edamame to start off with along with drinks. We both ordered two rolls. I love that they continue to have their BOGO special.
The sushi rolls are absolutely amazing, fresh and and so perfectly made. The combinations are a mouthful of flavor. I can't say enough about how good the sushi is.
The service is always good and the ambiance is relaxing. If you don't like sushi, there's tons of other options on the menu, something for everyone.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 19, 2023Updated review
We took out four special rolls for dinner and they were delicious. Fresh, tasty, plentiful. Great variety of rolls, packaged nicely. They are quite reasonable with the BOGO. The staff are really friendly and nice too. I will keep retuning. The four rolls we got were the swimming monkey, pink panther, tiger roll, spicy lover roll. Great variety, and did I say fresh and just the right size pieces. Score.

Oh did I say super fresh sushi.Apr 7, 2023Previous reviewAbsolutely delicious. Fresh, just the right size pieces. Ratio of rice to roll perfect. Flavors were so yummy no soy sauce needed. Great, reasonably priced lunch. Super good service too.
Mar 17, 2023Previous reviewAbsolutely delicious fresh sushi and the best chefs assortment. All the kinds I like in the perfect sizes. I hate when sushi is too big and I hate when you get a boring assortment. This one was great even had a fav of mine, octopus. Keep up the great work Sake House.
Nov 29, 2018Previous reviewFirst time using grub hub delivery and it went great. You can't beat $1.99 price. Food arrived piping hot, I had to wait to eat soup as it was so hot. Mango shrimp was delicious, although I would have liked it to be a bit spicier. Hubby had basil chicken and he loved it. Dishes were plentiful, appealing to look at and flavors were delicious. You can never go wrong with sake house.
Apr 15, 2015Previous reviewThis place just keeps getting better and better. I took out two sushi deluxe meals and they were fabulous Fresh, the right size pieces of fish, the right consistency of rice, the pieces were large and not squished into the wrong size box. Also the order was ready to be picked up at the correct time, so I didn't have to wait. There are also the best mints when you are paying. Lastly I noticed they are now offering an all you can eat lunch/dinner option, similar to Orchid on Creedmoor Rd. It's not a buffet, it's an order all you can eat (but you must eat what you order or they charge you extra), but for a special occasion I can see trying it. Great job Sake House, you had gone downhill for a while, but now you are doing great!!
Dec 29, 2014Previous reviewI took out two sushi deluxe meals for us tonight for dinner and I do not have a negative thing to say. I've had a love/hate relationship with Sake House over the years, sometimes I love the service and the meal, other times I'm unhappy. Tonight everything was done correctly. Our meals were delicious, the sushi was not squished into the take out containers. The rice was the correct consistency. The fish was super fresh tasting. I asked for two minor substitutions which I would have happily paid extra for and there was no extra charge mentioned. The salads had their dressings on the side, there was an inhuman amount of wasabi, and the soup was quite hot when I brought it home. All in all this was a wonderful meal and I also got to use a $5.00 off coupon I had gotten in the money saver magazine. Love you Sake House.
Mar 11, 2014Previous reviewI have been going to Sake House since it opened and have had a bit of a love hate relationship. For quite some time we would go there and really enjoy our food. But then it happened that the sushi was not tasting good, the wait was long to get your food and for the takeout they squished a large amount of sushi into a tiny box s o I was paying $25+ and getting squished small sushi that didn't always taste very good. With that being said let me get to this time. I ordered take out, the experience was very good.
The sushi was fresh, tasted good, wasn't squished into too small boxes and was really good. I was also impressed that they have added many new varieties of sushi. Hubby and I are old school, we like the sushi that has fish, egg, oshinko on top, then rice on bottom for the most part. We don't like the sushi that has fried stuff, mayo, creme cheese (big yuck, worst offender), or really any sauce that is slapped on except the eel sauce. In addition to the traditional sushi I also ordered the futomaki roll (so good), the crazy tuna roll (good), the spider roll (really good), and the spider (big yum too).
I am very pleasantly surprised that Sake House has either gotten new sushi chefs, trained them better or whatever, but I am looking forward to next time eating in and enjoying lots of future sushi meals at this pretty and very close to my home restaurant.Sep 4, 2011Previous reviewNot worth the money or the wait. The sushi is small and expensive and we waited about 40 minutes for our sushi. The chefs selection was three different kinds of sushi, very disappointing. If I wanted salmon, tuna, I could buy it at Harris Teeter. Also the rice did not stick together, so the sushi fell apart when you were eating it. Very upsetting experience. Also as someone mentioned before now that they have buy-one-get-one free on the rolls all the time, they would not honor the groupon. So we wound up paying full price for the rolls and putting the groupon towards the entire meal. The only saving grace was that the waiter figured out which way it would be less expensive for us either to use the groupon or the bogo, and it was cheaper to use the groupon so we did. We appreciated his kindness and his great service. It is not his fault that the chefs took too long making the sushi. We have been going to Sake House since it opened a few years ago & it has really gone downhill. Also the two sushi chefs did not look experienced. Just a feeling.

Staff doesn't acknowledge the customers. You'll be waiting for no reason. Has happened on many occasions.

I went on a date here. They gave me raw meat instead of tuna on most of the rolls. In the picture, you can see the clear difference in color. The meat is a deep red color. I didn't even notice the color difference until my date pointed it out. It's disgusting to think that a restaurant is okay with disguising raw meat as seafood. Please beware of this restaurant. It's safe to say I did not feel well for the following days. Please be careful. Please
I didn't feel comfortable with letting the waiter know. Since the restaurant was okay with serving me this, I was afraid of what they might do to the food behind closed doors in the kitchen. Consider going to another restaurant before taking your chances hereHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Erika L.Raleigh, NC5536Apr 7, 2023
Food was delicious but the service was terrible. Walked in when it was fairly slow and stood for several minutes while three employees looked at us and talked to each other. Finally I walked to them and asked if we were supposed to seat ourselves, but they said no, they just need a minute. They finished their chat then seated us.
Next, our waiter took a while to get our drinks. (Water and tea). Also, he didn't offer to refill them until two had been empty for so long that we had to share the third.
We got soup, and asked for soy sauce which took a while again.
The main order took quite some time but since it was sushi, we understood.
When we finished the plates sat for another 20+ minutes as well as our empty glasses before finally we caught his eye and asked for the check. He said sure, and he will bring refills back, but that was way too late. We would have loved that an hour ago!
We declined and asked again for the check. This, again, took a while.
I counted tables and waitstaff. Fewer then 10 full tables and 3-4 people on the wait staff.
I don't see why this took so longHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Myra J.Wake Forest, NC11336Nov 16, 2022
We have been coming to Sake House for years but since the pandemic we haven't been out to eat until today. I had the bento box, absolutely delicious. The customer service is always impeccable, ambiance and music is amazing.

I was in the mood for a nice bowl of Nabeyaki Udon so I stopped in the Sake House. I was disappointed. The broth was thin and watery and was obviously an "add to water" concentrate. I also ordered maguro sushi which was much better quality than the Udon was, which is why it got a solid three stars. If I come here again, it will be for the sushi and not the udon. I have no complaints on the service, which was fast and friendly.

Tried something new since Asian cuisine is our go to! This was such a great surprise! The menu is pretty big so take time and look at it before you go! Everything was hot, portions were large and staff was super friendly! We will be adding this to our rotation!

Best place to eat in that area. Nice service and clean. Love the soup and sushi. One of my favorite dishes.

Go to spot for sushi. They have a buy one get one free deal on weekdays. I recommended the Diablo and Dynamite Rolls. They offer take out but it can take a while to get especially in the evenings.
