Solid chicken parm slice! I walked in to this pizza joint in New Ro without any expectations whatsoever and I came out quite pleased with the overall taste of cut up morsels of chicken cutlets on a pretty thin crust topped with a decent mozzarella and the right pairing of red sauce to cheese.
Cheers to the owners for some solid tasting pizza!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 1 - James L.Vail, CO71923Jun 18, 2022
I've been coming here as long as I can remember. Maria was one of the nicest people and always made us feel at home. Saccone's used to be my favorite pizzeria in the area, so much so that I'd drive past 3 other very good pizza places to get to it. Unfortunately the business has changed hands and with that they have changed too many things. The crust is different, the cheese is different- even the pepperoni is different.. The food is okay, but definitely not as good as it used to be.
Worst of all I was very specific when I placed my order- repeating it back to the person on the phone slowly and succinctly to be sure they got it correct. Very basic stuff! Just a cheese pizza and a pizza with all pepperoni, half with sausage & fresh basil added. They obviously got the cheese correct, but on the other one we got half pepperoni and half pepperoni, sausage, and VEGETABLES! Like random veggies- broccoli, mushroom, onion, bell pepper, etc. What's worse? The cook called me just after I placed the order to make sure they were getting it right so I confirmed it with him twice AND he repeated it back to me!
I had heard from friends that Saccone's had new owners and they warned me that it wasn't as good as it used to be. I was willing to give it a shot, but between messing with the recipe's, changing the ingredients, and royally screwing up our order I don't think we'll be back. So sad..Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lauren S.Village of Pelham, NY541Jul 2, 2022
I used to go here when I was a kid and the food was amazing. This time the food was decent. The owner called me to see if I could change my order. They were out of two things that we ordered. The sauce isn't bad but I've had much better from other places. There dough is chewy and there garlic knots aren't even garlicky. One good thing the Zeppole's were chewy but the flavor was really on point.

Pizza? Did somebody say pizza? Does being born and raised in the Bronx, being Italian, and being in the food + beverage industry make me a pizza aficionado? No, it does not, but include this wasitline, and I'd say I'm pretty close.
Saccone's has been around for decades and truly is a mom and pop pizza shop from a bygone era. If you walk into a pizza shop and the owner is a little old Italian lady, chances are, you're in for a treat. And thats certainly the case here!
It's a small spot and I am not one for congestion but the food is worth the trip over. I do take-out 90% of the time but whether its taking out or dining in, the pizza and the food is ALWAYS fantastic. I am also not one for Pasta Fagioli soup but sweet Jesus does this soup deliver in spades. And they give you the option to make the soup spicy! Count.....me......in!
They also do an EXCELLENT Foccacia Pizza thats unlike any I've ever had.
The amount of food this small kitchen pumps out is a sight to behold. And they do a great job.
Keep up the awesome work, Saccone's! I'll be seeing you real soon!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 9, 2017
This place is such a time warp! Look at it from the outside and it looks like a really old school corner pizza spot. All the details are perfect down to the old Friedrich air conditioner sleeve. Walk inside and you'll see 70's style menus. A plain cheese slice here is 3 bucks and the crust is extremely thin. They're very easy to eat and surprisingly the slices aren't greasy at all. Fold it over and eat it like a real NY slice and you'll barely see two or three drops of grease on your plate. Amazing! The other slices in the case looked like they were sitting around for a bit but who am I to judge?
The Italian ices here are also to die for. Try the hazelnut!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eugene O.Laurel, MD01Mar 25, 2020
Saccone's gets 10 stars from me but it's not because of the food. It's because of the kind-hearted soul that runs the place, Maria. And because good deeds are so often under appreciated, I wanted to share with you my experience with her.
I am writing on March 25, 2019 - right in the middle of the pandemic that has caused so much grief and stress to New Yorkers. Last night, my elderly mother suffered a brutal fall, breaking her nose - and messing up her face. After wiping up the blood, my father realized they needed to at least tend to the wound. But they didn't have any rubbing alcohol or any bandages.
My father tried to go out to get supplies to dress the wound but he's almost 80 and can't drive at night. He tried but realized it was unsafe. And the only 24 hour drugstore was across town. They were also afraid to go to the hospital or urgent care for the same reasons but also because of the coronavirus.
I live in Maryland and felt utterly helpless. And after unsuccessfully scouring the internet for delivery services that were open, I was desperate. I started to call pizzerias, hoping I could convince a delivery guy to go to CVS and pay them. I hoped that someone wouldn't be busy and would want to make some extra money.
I called Saccone's and told my story. Maria, who I didn't know then ran the store, said she would help. In the end, she went to cvs, delivered the supplies and saved the day.
She did this after she closed her store at 10 o'clock at night.
Our restauranteurs are suffering through immense stress now. They are worried about their businesses, their employees and of course their families. That Maria was able to extend her kindness - running an errand for complete strangers after a long nights work - is just angelic.
So if you want to support a small business who values kindness, showing love to an unknown neighbor, and being all around good people - please eat at Saccone's. And tip the staff generously. In a time when my family needed help, Maria was there. She is an inspiration.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Caleb M.Brooklyn, NY42510225Jun 9, 2020
One of weatchester's best old school pizzeria's. Get a hot pepper on your slice -- also the homemade Italian ices are the stuff of legend

Really great thin pizza, ive been coming here since i attended the elementary school across the street and with more then 10 other pizza places in the neighborhood... Thats loyalty.
They also have good wedges, pasta and chicken rolls. Tons of other great items like hot peppers, zeppoles, and of course home-made italian ices.
Great pizza place to come to in New Rochelle!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jillian M.New York, NY0126Nov 18, 2019
You want mom and pop fresh pizza?! Saccone's is an absolute must. No frills just classic slices light and crisp every time. Not looking for a slice? No worries their sandwiches are excellent and let's not talk about the chicken rolls! Thanks Saccone's for sticking to the formula.
