Q:
On UberEATS, many of the dishes are marked vegan but say they use butter or cheese in them -- like the butter in the daal or the cheese in the sag paneer. Are they using nondairy cheese and butter alternatives? Or are those dishes not actually vegan?
A:
Two suggestions: 1. Call restaurant for cooking questions. They are very helpful here 2. Use the restaurant's own ordering and delivery system for highest accuracy. They have a great menu system and had their own delivery when last checked

The best Indian food we have encountered in north Atlanta...
Thank you for taking care of us and cooking for us on Mother's Day .
Everything was perfect and delicious. The spices were tailored to our relatively fragile pallets, and the flavor was unparalleled. !Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 22, 20248 check-ins
I've visited Royal Spice's Dunwoody location on many occasions and I think they have some of the best and most authentic Indian food in the area. Their menu has so many different options of appetizers, curries and much more. I've only had an opportunity to try a select handful of items, but each dish I've had has been delicious and I feel confident that everything else would be just as good.
I'm a fairly basic person when it comes to curry, so I'm very familiar with their butter chicken and their chicken tikka masala. Although fairly similar, you can definitely distinguish between the two at Royal Spice. The tikka masala is definitely a bit sweeter. However, both curries are fragrant and taste delicious. The chicken cubes are tender and absorb the flavor of the curry quite well. I've also had their chicken biryani and this is one of my favorite biryanis. The saffron they use in the rice is evident throughout, and the flavors compliment each other quite well. There's spice, some earthiness, and pairing it with the yogurt adds a lightness and creaminess to the dish. It is simply fantastic.
On the vegetarian front, I've had their bhindi masala (okra) and their palak paneer. The vegetables they use in those dishes taste fresh and they tend to make the vegetarian dishes stand out more with extra spice. I found these two dishes to be spicier than the meat dishes, at the same heat level.
The portion sizes at Royal Spice are a plus. They serve you a lot of curry for the price, and isn't stingy about the rice. As someone who will come here alone most times, getting one curry is enough. The ambiance of the restaurant is bright and cozy and service has always been attentive. I will absolutely continue to visit Royal Spice. I haven't even been able to try out their lunch special, which I hear is a big hit!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 21, 2023
Amazing experience today. I love the statement "under promise and over deliver." This is true of this place. I walked in very hungry and looked at the menu. My waiter Abi took excellent care of me. Shortly he came out with a lentil soup that was incredible.
I placed my order and waited. I had shrimp khorma and rice or so I thought. Out came my plate and it had both of those plus buttered naan, two fried onion pakora's and potato and eggplant curry. Simply stunning. The taste was unreal. I have been driving 35-45 minutes when this is only 18 minutes down the road.
Met the chef and he is from my country, Bangladesh. Nashir did an amazing job. They were so kind and gracious and gave me tea and gulab jamin for simply being a first time guest. I will be back next Friday with two friends. Well done.
The ambiance was Hindi music playing and so good. Not too loud at all.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Oct 20, 2023Updated review8 check-ins
One of our favorite places for real deal Indian food. We love their Rogan Josh, samosas, and all their naan breads are excellent. Full service, lively dining room with attentive staff if you want a sit down meal. Great location right on the heart of Dunwoody Village.

I started with the Shrimp Poori appetizer which was good although the bread was a little off, it fell apart as soon as I started rolling it. Then for the main I had the Chicken Vindaloo which was spiced perfectly, just a touch of heat at the end, and the chicken was tender and juicy. I also ordered the garlic naan, which might be the best naan bread I've had in ATL, and Raita....great meal! I'll be back for take out next time.

Omg I think I just found the best Indian lunch deal in town! For $11.99 u get a soup, and a dish w their vege curry of the day, naan, rice, onion pakora, and your choice of dish! (I'm not a big fan of lunch buffets bc my eyes r bigger than my stomach and I end up eating too much. So this menu option is perfect!) Dunwoody is lucky to have such amazing Indian food (that's also not overpriced)!

Ugh. Paste. Pleasant service. The samosas were very delicious as was the garlic Naan bread. Every other dish bathed in a vhat of simple curry sauce.
An extensive menu, but blah blah blah.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jill W.Atlanta, GA42633Feb 24, 2024
This is a hidden gem in Dunwoody! Fantastic food and service. Our favorites are the Coconut Vegetable Curry, Chana Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken 65, and Garlic Naan. The portions are extremely generous so one dish will get you at least one meal of leftovers (usually two). We typically do carry out and the staff is very thoughtful in how they package the to go food to ensure it doesn't spill/leak - each container is wrapped in plastic wrap as a safeguard!

Impressed with the Indian restaurant's flavorful dishes, each bite was a burst of deliciousness! The variety on the menu provided a satisfying experience. While the food was excellent, a slightly more attentive service would have elevated the overall dining experience. Still, a solid choice for those craving authentic and tasty Indian cuisine.
