Yes there is a "sunset hour" with discounted drinks, bites & great music. They have updated the site to reflect such

Is this place good for kids?
A:
I'm not sure how old your kids are and how they do at restaurants. Food is great and I am sure they can accommodate small children. Friendly staff. It was mostly business lunch crowd when I went their with my clients.

The food, the service, the ambience all top notch here. If you're staying in the seaport area, definitely worth coming.
The burger was juicy and flavorful. The mocktail was nice too and they had a decent selection of them.
They have a very large beautiful dining space and a patio that has a lot of heaters. It was very comfortable even on a chilly early March evening. It wasn't noisy or crowded at all, which I always appreciate. The view outside, especially at night is spectacular (see video). A walk before or after dinner is definitely recommended.
The service was great - the host and server were attentive and friendly.
The menu is pricey. Expect to pay $50+ for a burger and mocktail.
I don't know about parking - I just walked down from the hotel but I imagine it would be difficult in that area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Pro is it is one of the few restaurants at South Street Seaport that you can walk into without a reservation. Food is healthy with high quality ingredients. However, the options are not as tasty as we had hoped for. We had visited the location in Malibu and the food tasted fresher and more flavorful. The dining room is also quite loud and crowded. For views of the river as well as a healthy-ish meal it does fit the bill.

This was overall a very mediocre meal. It wasn't bad, but also wasn't great. They had a ton of reservations available on the same day, so we decided to stop in for Saturday morning brunch. We sat in the "covered patio" but it was practically inside. Not a terrible vibe or ambiance, but again, nothing special.
The service was fine, but I wish our waiter had explained the drink specials to our table. I had the "Pytti Panna" Hash. It was very simple and was definitely achievable by someone cooking at home. The matcha latte was just bad. There were chunks of matcha that weren't fully mixed all the way and came unsweetened with sugar packets that were super difficult to dissolve in the iced drink.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 23, 2023
We were searching for a last-minute dinner reservation near the South Street Seaport, and luckily, Malibu Farms was able to accommodate our party of 5 with just a few hours' notice. It turned out to be a fantastic spot!
Malibu Farms impressed our group because their menu offered a wide range of cuisines, ensuring that everyone found something to their liking. Choosing what to eat was a bit of a challenge since everything sounded delicious, but I ultimately settled on the smashed style bacon burger. It came with roasted potatoes and a small salad. The candied bacon on top took the burger to a whole new level! I was definitely pleased with my choice.
Not only was the food great, but the prices were reasonable, and our server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant's décor was spacious, comfortable, and kind of Californian? It may have seemed a bit odd to be in a Malibu-themed eatery in New York, but somehow, it worked, and I found the whole experience quite enjoyable!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. The outdoor sitting is right on the pier and it's beautiful place to be at night.
For apps we got the Malibu nachos with flank steak. I loved the texture of the steak and how perfectly cooked it was. My boyfriend was not too fond of the nachos. We believed they used have incorporated more of the green onions and added more toppings to it.
For dinner, my boyfriend got the P.I.E. mussels and would not stop raving about it.
I got the roasted island salmon and honestly wish they gave more of the risottto it was a nice summer fresh side. I would def eat it again
It's a great causal spot on the water with a lovely staff.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Roger D.Los Angeles, CA07May 14, 2024
I had a really excellent salad here. On the water. You can probably see the Brooklyn Bridge if you sit by the window or outside. Service was excellent too. Big, full bar if you're thirsty.

Great service but food was terrible. We ordered a cauliflower crust pizza for the table. The crust was absolutely gross and soggy. A few drops of pesto, 4 tiny slices of mozzarella cheese and mixed salad on top! I get wanting to think outside the box and make "modern" looking dishes but this was disgusting! Don't call this pizza!
I ordered shakshouka which was basically a bowl of tomato soup with eggs floating there somewhere. My mom liked her avocado toast.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 162274593Jul 19, 2023
Cute little spot in the seaport district with a great view. We made a reservation here on the day of for 5 people but it probably wasn't necessary as there were quite a few tables open when we arrived.
The server was very friendly and quick. Drinks arrived fast and we ordered quickly and then food was served quick.
Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I got the pei mussels which the server commented that it was a great choice. They were delicious! Pretty standard to a normal mussels dish but it's hard to go wrong with this type of seafood. I liked that there was a bed of noodles under all of the mussels as well.
Great atmosphere overall and the seaport district outside of the restaurant is a great place for a stroll and some shopping after dinner.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 25, 2023
Malibu Farm New York is a great farm-to-table eatery by the water with amazing views of Brooklyn Bridge. Especially on a nice day out, the outdoor tables are perfect for enjoying the views and relaxed vibe.
We ordered:
- Local Burrata ($22+)
- Roasted Red Pepper Hummus ($14+)
Both dishes tasted fresh and delicious. The drinks also came in cute mason jars.
The menu isn't huge and you are paying for the quality and location, but if you are looking for a healthy, delicious option by the water, this is the place.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jun 2, 2023Updated review
Malibu Farms is a beautifully decorated restaurant. I love this location because of its ease to travel to by way of the nyc ferry.
Our server Bob was very attentive and made sure we had a nice experience. Johnelle also made sure we had everything we needed.
The food is the real star of this show. My husband and I had impossible burgers and the nachos with a few mock tails. The guacamole and chips are also a must have when you go. For brunch my fave is the skillet blueberry pancakes.
The cost for two is about $150 (including tip) I'd say it's a great spot for large groups and I have yet to experience the outdoor patio but definitely for my next time back. Literally my fave summer hangout.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Nov 16, 2020Previous reviewPleasantly surprised... as far south of
Manhattan that you can go. Living on the ues I rarely venture far but this time I was happy that I did. Cold and windy and not that easy to find after the Uber dropped us off, plus we were dragging luggage with us we STILL had a great brunch even tho being slowed down by the COVID regulations.
What you should know: you'll get a text prior to arrival so fill that out, Your temp will be taken, Tables are spaced for social distancing, seating is clean and comfortable, service was quick, FOOD TASTES AMAZING!
Just go. It's probably better in the warmer weather so I'll go back again but I was very happy with my visit (mid November)
We had a table as far from the water as you could get that I loved bc it felt cozy. Some may not like that (per a review I read) BUT I didn't feel "profiled" I actually fell warm on a cold nyc day and our waitress was kind and attentive.
We both ordered the delicious nachos (shared), the epic blueberry coconut French Toast and the pumpkin spice Margherita (a seasonal cocktail).
The cost of the bill was $91 for two and we left $120
