Great pizza - drunk or sober!

Newport Beach born & raised local & have lived in & out of O.C. (specifically NB) many times over the years! Moved back here in 2013 after 8 years in Texas, LA, and Las Vegas, and am never leaving again - 100% here to stay!

Reason I say this, is that over the years..... from highschool (went to NHHS) , to college [UNLV: visiting home] , to moving back here permanently in '13 [and buying a home here on the peninsula] .. I've always been loyal to Laventinas and is my tried and true pizza haunt !

Is it the best pizza in the world? - no!
But that's not why I go there! I go there for consistent- well made- delicious pizza- that's always ready within 10-15 minutes.. tops! Plus- the owner is great, the staff are all kind and attentive, and quite frankly.. there's no one else that I'd rather be supporting than them (as they've always been very good to me!)

You've got a lifelong friend and a customer for life!

I've tried a lot of pizza places, but Laventina's Big Cheese Pizza is the best one ever in Orange County! When you walk up to the stand, the smell of yummy pizza makes your stomach growl. It feels like a special place where every pizza is made with care and love. The staff always goes above and beyond to ensure every customer is fully satisfied!

They have lots of toppings you can choose from to make your pizza just how you like it. But my favorite is the Pepperoni & Pineapple Pizza. It's so cheesy and delicious, with a crust that's just right - crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Every bite is super tasty!

The people who work at Laventina's are super nice, too. They make you feel welcome, like you're part of the family. They're really good at making pizza and getting your order to you fast, whether you eat there, take it home, or have it delivered.

Laventina's isn't just a pizza place it's like a friend to everyone in the neighborhood. They love making pizza and you can tell because it always tastes amazing.

If you love pizza as much as I do, you have to try Laventina's Big Cheese Pizza. It's not just the best in Orange County it's a pizza party in every box!

This place is so good! Lots of sauce and great breading. Just the ideal place to get pizza. Just get a large, it will get eaten once you are home.

Laventina's has a lot of great reviews and over the years, I've past this place a few hundred times so I stopped by to check it out.

Best efforts not to make this a long review, but I need to explain how I came to give these guys 4 stars.

Going to start out with the positive.

This place is an impressive money making machine. It's located walking distance from drinking establishments and they are open late on Fri and Sat to capitalize on the wandering drinkers after last call that get the munchies.

It's a 100% walk up or place an order by phone and have it delivered business model.

The few employees I interacted with were polite, friendly and upbeat so 5 stars there.

Prices are reasonable so another 5 stars there.

Now for the negative.

If you're really into pizza like me, I don't hold back on any pizza venues I check out.

So with that said, I found their pepperoni pizza to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but when it came to the taste, it's all downhill from there.

Pizza is bland, they use low quality cheese, and theres no attempt to add any spices to the canned sauce used. The pepperonis were ok, not the best but not the worst. Crust was tasteless.

The way this place is set up, they don't need to have a quality product, as they will always sell out whatever they make to the bar crowd, tourists, stoners that will order delivery when they get the munchies, and the mature diehard local's that have built relationships with the friendly staff and feel compelled to back their boys by using the art of puffery and becoming regular patrons.

Truly an impressive operation, just wished their pizza was as impressive. Pizza gets a 2 stars out of me.

So 5+5+2 Divided by 3 = 4 Stars

The pizza was amazing! Super quick and cheap too! It located less than a few minutes from the beach and the food is so quick to come out will definitely come back again to this spot!

I came here on a Thursday for lunch. It was not busy and the food took 10 minutes to make. The person who took my order was super nice and helpful. I really like the prices here. I think they are the cheapest in Newport Beach! I found this place by Google search and read the reviews. I am so glad I tried it. The antipasto salad was a half order and they stuffed it with salad, mixed meats, shredded mozzarella, onions, tomatoes. It was only $6 and it fed 3 people. The one topping large pizza was so reasonable at $16. There were 12 slices. The pizza comes out piping hot and the cheese is oozing. I also ordered the half order of mild wings. That's also pretty good for $5. I was very glad I came and the price was definitely right!

This place is easy to get to for pick up. Parking is along the curb and I was able to park right in front. Tried this place for first time and love the freshness of the ingredients and loads of it. It was piping hot and cheesy. They cut the slices small so great for large groups. Ordered online and estimated time is displayed. It was quick from order to pick up time. I believe 20 minutes or less. Staff were friendly.

REALLY good place to go and get pizza. You can't eat it there because there's no inside area. But that's ok because you can eat it at the beach. You can build your own combination pizza, only have 2 sizes of pizza (12 and 14 inch), and my daughter said her pizza is awesome and delicious! Can't go wrong with pizza and the beach.

I LOVE it: a walk-up counter to grab pizza by the slice! So convenient and even better yet, it's delicious. I enjoyed a hot and cheesy, generous by-the-slice piece of pepperoni pizza, I believe it's only pepperoni and cheese. They do have several menu options: salads, sandwiches, pizzas (can order custom pizza toppings) and pastas. Cool beach vibes and another great beach eatery I enjoy in the area. Just a short walk to the beach, too.
