We are not a fancy, luxury big restaurant; we are a small private home cuisine provider in the City of San Gabriel Since 2007. Our menu is thoughtfully crafted to offer the most compelling hand-made Chinese wheaten foods such as noodles, dumplings, buns, and pancakes. We believe that the first few bites provide the maximum appreciation and pleasure. By serving smaller portions, we encourage our guests to savor each bite and appreciate the flavors. Additionally, sourcing high-quality ingredients from various places can increase production costs, affecting the end price of the dish. Our goal is to make our cuisine both memorable and affordable for our clients. Kingburg Kitchen @ 715 W Las Tunas Dr., San Gabriel, CA. 91776 In English, please call (626) 827-3888. In Mandarin & Cantonese, please call (626) 282-2386. We open Tuesday-Sunday (Monday Closed) Hours: 11:30AM - 8:00PM, (3:00PM-5:00PM close for break and preparing foods)

Yummy Taiwanese dumplings and soups! They also have frozen dumplings to make at home. Very welcoming and cozy staff and restaurant.
Really really good scallion pancake and fish dumplings (I got them pan fried). Pork, cabbage, and shrimp dumplings (steamed) were very good as well with chewy thick homemade dumpling wrapper.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - 647130710405Mar 4, 2024Updated review
Used to be my favorite dumpling place. But the past few times, both food and service had been inconsistent. Always quoted 25 min wait but had to wait way longer. And sometimes food came undercooked. I haven't visited the restaurant this year due to previous experiences.
One of the visit was especially disappointing. We were quoted for 20 min wait. We arrived at that time and paid. Then was told they were out of one of the dishes we ordered. They wouldn't let us cancel that one dish because "we already paid", which was kinda strange. Why not let us know before we paid then? Anyways, at the end, we waited for almost an hour standing outside of the store. When we finally took the food home, two of the dishes (beef cake and pan fried buns) were both raw at the center.
Just some quick notes:
The photos posted were from awhile back. Some photos were uploaded way back in 2016 on my first visit. The sausage fried rice was uploaded from 2021/2022 ish I think? I haven't took photos for this place for a while, since we usually eat at friends' place and I only take photos when I'm with family.
I always place orders directly through the restaurant. I understand how busy kitchen can get during rush hours and I don't mind waiting for fresh food, in fact, that's preferred. I love hot and delicious food coming right outta kitchen. But I do mind waiting the additional 20-40min on top of the quoted time, especially during my lunch break. I also mind when my food was undercooked and raw after a long wait.Helpful 5Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 2Business owner information

I appreciate your feedback and I regret that you had a bad experience with our restaurant. I would like to ask you when this happened, as this will help me investigate the situation and take appropriate actions. Please let me know the exact date or a close estimate of your order.
According to our records and your photos, I have the following comments:
(1) We are a small and cozy restaurant, with only one chef and one waitress, who have not received any cancellation calls lately. If you ordered and paid online through Grubhub or DoorDash, we may not have been informed of any cancellation. We always offer to replace the food if a customer is unhappy with the quality. Our food is freshly made to order, which may take around 20 minutes to prepare and cook.
(2) The container boxes in your photos are outdated, we stopped using them more than a year ago. Since January 2023, we use plastic packaging boxes for our take-out orders.
(3) The "Sausage Egg Fried Rice" in your photo is also old. We changed the way we cut the sausage pieces more than a year ago.
We apologize for any inconvenience and we strive to improve our service and food to meet our customers' expectations.Oct 4, 2016Previous reviewWhat a pleasant surprise! Randomly walked into the place and found a solid restaurant.
You could order combo for any noodle + 5 dumplings. Great deal for people like me who want to sample a little of everything.
Pig ear: good.
Beef Noodle: reminds me of Taiwan. Super flavorful soup and delicious beef. Very satisfying. But some people might find it too salty though.
Dumplings: lots of filling with very thin wrap. Excellent.
Pan Fried Buns: fresh and fulfilling.
Friendly and attentive service. - William H.Marina del Rey, CA404429Dec 10, 2023
We just happened to stumble upon this little restaurant. Very old school set up and authentic Taiwanese dishes. They make the dumplings, buns and noodles fresh and you can taste that difference. We've been coming here second week straight and now plan on coming here once a week.
Also, while you're here try the boba tea from next door, they stay make the boba fresh and it is better than the ready made bobas. You won't be disappointed.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Bella L.Arcadia, CA944798May 14, 2024
I like their vegetarian dumplings with bean curd cold dish. I like how they're hot and sour soup as well. I have been going there for a long time, probably 10 years? So tasty

It is surely a hidden gem! I've been to here a couple of times, each time there weren't many customers... May be 2 to 3 tables... But the food is no complaints! The ingredients in the fried bun is fresh and solid, and it's pan fried to crispy. The hot and sour soup is very authentic .. dumplings, stewed seaweed, sausages... Many side dishes are good.
And in the current inflation, the price of all dishes are extremely reasonable. Although the ambiance is very old fashioned but they don't need anything fancy.
I also bought a bag (50) of frozen dumplings and they surely look good.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - 16866117556Mar 2, 2023
Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Ying Y.UC Campus Area, Berkeley, CA01Mar 22, 2024
Just wanted to give a big shout-out to Kingburg Kitchen! Ordered their wheaten foods for my private party, and everyone Loved their dishes. Their hand-made dumplings, noodles, and fried buns were a hit - tasty, fresh, and just downright scrumptious.

A bizarre experience when my family and I dined with Kingburg.
First of all, food was okay at best. Pan-fried items were on the burnt side which caused some health concerns. Noodle was good assuming what they advertise is true that they make their own dough and noodle. Food-wise, the price is fair according to the current market.
What made me frustrated was the service. We were served with an order of scallion pancake. Given that we were a big party, naturally we started eating. While I was feeding my daughter, the waitress came and said she had served the scallion pancake to the wrong table and proceeded to ask us if we want to replace our other order with this pancake. I declined and asked her to serve us the other order when it is ready. She then replied, in mandarin, if we can pay for the scallion pancake. I replied calmly," sorry, but that's not my problem." She seemed agitated and asked all of us to put the scallion pancake in our hands and mouth back onto the plate. I was shocked. Later, I overheard the table next to us asking the same waitress if she had served them the same scallion pancake that she just took away from us.
The three stars for the food, but negative one star for the service resulting in a 2-star review.
This place has been around for a while and I hope the owner can somehow manage to improve the service side.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
