Kabuto Japanese House of Steaks

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Would go to this restaurant again, and again. Chef knows how to clean grill.

This place did not satisfy me when it comes to their hibachi 4/10. The scallops were not good at all. The chicken & shrimp were decent.
I had the Staff were friendly. The inside was huge! I loved the indoor fountain! There was one fish that couldn't move in the backside !!!

Went here for my birthday! They were very accommodating and let us fit 12 people at our table by pulling up 2 chairs. Our chef was extremely kind and kept great energy all through the cooking process.

I ordered the volcano drink which came on fire and was very large drink. Was very entertained by that and the drink was large enough I didn't need to order another. My steak cooked medium rare was perfect and there was enough food for me to take home leftovers.

Food safety is in question. First off if you're Gluten Free by allergy DO NOT GO! As requested by the restaurant on the menu my wife immediately notified our waiter and ordered a Gluten Free meal. When the plate came out she confirmed it was gluten free. It wasn't until our chef at the table pointed out the Lo Mein was not rice noodles. Unfortunately my wife had already had two bites so I confronted the kitchen and manager immediately to confirm the noodles were not gluten free and they could not confirm or deny and said they had to check with the manger who confirmed it wasn't gluten free. While they did offer to remove it from the bill, there was no sincere apology which just shows they do not realize the severity of the situation. While the chef we had was great, we will never be returning. I don't know how you can have a restaurant in Richmond and not understand what is or is not gluten free.

Also, in regards to food safety for those who are not gluten free I don't understand how they can put Chicken, Beef, and Seafood on the same plate and proceed to use the same utensils to cook it. This does not seem safe or sanitary.

THEY STOLE MY FOOD. I had an insanely rude chef who stole my child food and didn't give it back. We did not pay for this and it was mega expensive. I am upset with this customer service and I expect all my money back. It was $300. Please please Kabutos, give me my money back. I am so disappointed. They called us that is short and they didn't do any tricks or entertainment. It was highly depressing. I am going to go cry in my bed now goodbye

The service was fine. However, the increase in price was less to be desired. I also didn't appreciate the gratuity charge. Forced to pay for a service I hadn't yet experienced, it felt like a legal robbery. I should be allowed to say if the service and food earned my money. The gratuity policy is a fall from grace when I'm not sure what to expect. With all being considered, the food and service garnered no complaints; I just wanted to be the one to say I feel good with giving you my money.

Very disorganized, to the point of being rude. Food was pretty good except for the steak. It was gritty and chewy, and pretty cheap tasting. Will not go back. Will look for another hibachi even if it's further away.

Nothing is good about this restaurant and they are a mega super ripe off.

I ordered the Samurai ( chicken and steak)
Cost 35 dollars for a small piece of steak (6 oz)
The rice is not fresh.
Also a drink strawberry lemonade (5 dollars
40 dollars.
Let's add tax
18% gratitude (tips)
Which they forced upon
Out the door over 50 dollars.
The food is complete garbage.

We really wanted to enjoy this restaurant... but sadly....

Absolutely TERRIBLE. Went here a few days ago and food was all over cooked. Service wasn't that great, and when I went to complain about it I was told I was lying and treated like crap.
Band later that night, and all the next couple of days my boyfriend and I were extremely sick.

Sadly this isn't even the first negative experience I've had at this location. But we decided to give them another try. Well... NEVER AGAIN.

And, the manager has ZERO customer service skills. Stay clear of this place.

I'm a huge fan of this place. There aren't many hibachi or Japanese steak houses in Richmond. So I'm happy this one is actually very good. Service is nice as well. I've been a few times and I've always enjoyed the food as well as the overall experience. Definitely a place that should be visited if you're wanting some Japanese steak house
