My wife and I were in the mood for pizza so, of course, we searched Yelp to find the closest non-chain pizza place. Johnny's was one of the first listed and it happened to be just a couple of miles from our hotel. The first thing I noticed when I walked inside, was that there was no menu board or menus anywhere to be found. When it was our turn to order at the front counter, I asked the young man if he had a menu that I could look at. His response was, "There are usually a few menus out there somewhere." Fortunately, a co-worker heard me ask and was able to get one and bring it to the front counter. We ordered and took our seats. Shortly after sitting down, the line at the counter began to grow. That made me feel certain that we were at the right place as it was getting quite busy. I reasoned that the pizza must be a local favorite. When our pizza came to the table I wasn't disappointed. The crust was cooked perfectly and they were very generous with the toppings. My only complaint is that it was a bit dry. A little more pizza sauce would have been great. I almost asked if I could get a side dish of the sauce but decided against it as the line at the counter was long and moving slowly. That brings me to the reason for the 3 stars. It was very disorganized and the staff seemed confused at times. The phone never stopped ringing and was basically ignored in deference to those waiting in line. I'm not necessarily against that, but it has to be frustrating to those trying to call in an order. The delivery staff seemed to be constantly coming and going, so an employee dedicated to taking call-in orders would be worth the extra payroll expense, I would think. If they get organized and running smoothly, this could be a 5 star restaurant in no time. I couldn't identify who the manger was; they all looked like college-aged young people to me with no one taking charge. The addition of a menu board - even if just a chalk board - would speed up the process considerably. When you have to ask for a menu when it's your turn at the counter and then stand there and decide what to order, it takes valuable time. They have good pizza with a pleasant dining area in which to enjoy it. They just need some organization and they'd be sitting on a gold mine.

While children may love it. I find it too greasy to eat. Also smells a bit rancid. But that's my opinion. The kids think it's great.

I like the buffet at lunch if it's not too packed. It's definitely pricey. I eat from time to time. The desert pizza is worth it.

Whenever I want to bring a little slice of Louisiana back to Houston, this place has the infamous "take n bakes," where you can take a pizza that is still in the box and ready to be cooked at home. Plus we can't get Johnny's in Houston, so it's worth it to bring it back.
I always get the infamous sweep the kitchen, which includes about 11 different toppings (anchovies, peppers, sausage, jalapeños, mushrooms, and a few other things). They also have build your owns, different specials, and a bunch of other things including breadsticks. The buffet used to be a gem to take the family out, but it has waned over the years with take out becoming more popular.
This location in the area has to be the best, as you won't have to wait for so long and the people are friendly when they take care of you. I called two other locations and they didn't have any tomatoes, but this one did have them! You can still dine in, but I have stepped away from the whole dine in with pizzerias for the last couple of years.
If you are having a get together, party, or just feel like you want some good old fashioned pizza, this is your place.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Landry B.LA, LA096Jul 1, 2022

Love the pizza here at the Johnny's in Haughton. However, the wait is horrible. This has happened enough times that now we will expect it. Ordered pizza at 6:20, worker said 15 min, and still waiting on it 55 minutes later with a crying baby in the car. If it's going to be longer than 15 minutes then tell the customer! Edited to add, the order is only one large half pep, half sausage, and an order of breadsticks.

How they call this pizza I really don't understand, first-generation Americans are Family from Italy good Lord, to call this pizza is an insult to Italians everywhere! This is not pizza, they should be up on charges for calling it that, complete crap, skip it!

Was in town for the evening, didn't want to go to a restaurant, so I fired up Yelp to see what kind of pizza I could get. I always try to avoid national chains when traveling, because I can get that at home.
Ordered the Buffalo Chicken pizza and they got it just right! Not deep dish, not totally thin crust....very tasty all around and HOT on delivery.
Only reason it's not 5 stars is...a bit pricey @ almost $19 for a medium.
They do have other less expensive options.
I'd definitely try them again next time I'm in the area. Quick delivery too!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 15, 2018
All I can say about this pizza is that it looks and smells good however it was tasteless. From the sauce to the toppings. I had the Hog pizza. The peach dessert pizza was descent but I only really tasted one piece of peach in the whole pizza. I won't be back.
