Ideal Convenience Store

Everyone needs a go-to place to live the fantasy of a "Dollar and a Dream". We all have our little spots where we sneak into every now and then to pick up a few scratch off games, or plunk down a chunk of bills on the Mega Millions lottery. Damn - I really can't believe I did not win! I thought I had picked the winners in those twenty games I purchased. What's up with that?!!!

This is one of those spots. No larger than an oversized walk in closet, this newsstand and convenience store is basically my drop in point on the way home from work when I get the itch to play the lottery. This place has all the current NYS instant scratch offs and lottery games to play. They also have a plethora of magazines, newspapers, and candy. There always seems to be a cast of characters from the hood in here playing multiple games and daily numbers driving the guys batty behind the counter who barely speak English.

I'll keep playing. One day it will be mine!

When my teenage daughter lost her credit card in this shop, the guy behind the counter held it up and leered at her: "What will you give me to return it?"

Loathsome. Avoid. And tell them why, if you're a regular.

(How did this episode end? My daughter snatched the card out of his hand and told him to f--- off. I'm so proud!)
