Q:
What kind of vibe is this restaurant? Is it okay to bring toddler?
A:
Family friendly. Small space with majority being a sushi bar. However there are a handful of tables.
Jane A.10 months ago 1 person found this helpfulQ:
Do they serve the same menu at lunch as they do for dinner?
A:
Yes, except Omakase course. Due to limited # of chef at bar, all orders are taken by server and cannot be served one on one base at bar.

I finally made my way to Harmony Cuisine 2B1 (Convoy area of San Diego)!
Harmony Cuisine 2B1 is a Japanese restaurant that opened in 2021. Their focus / philosophy is bringing the staff and customer together to become one, creating a wonderful dining experience in harmony. Harmony Cuisine 2B1 focuses on traditional sushi, hot and cold Japanese appetizers, homemade desserts, premium A5 Miyazaki Wagyu dishes along with sakes, wines, and unique cocktails. Harmony Cuisine 2B1 was awarded OpenTable Diner's Choice in 2022 and 2023.
The chef is Mickey Ninomiya, who developed and sharpened his skills at various restaurants including Sushi Ota over 12 years with his passion and dedication under Master Chef Mr. Ota. The owner, Tsuyoshi F, created Harmony Cuisine 2B1 with inspiration from WCK (World Central Kitchen by Chef José Andrés), the intimate feeling in peace and harmony.
My friend and I headed over to Harmony Cuisine 2B1 on a Wednesday evening. We tried the following:
- Sake Caipirinha
- Yellowtail Kama
- Agedashi Tofu
- Meatballs
- Uni Nigiri
- Wagyu Nigiri
- Salmon Belly Nigiri
- Otoro Nigiri
- Salmon Party Bowl
- Shrimp Lover Roll
- Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll
True to their goals and focus, food, service, ambiance were all excellent! All of the ingredients were super fresh. I particularly enjoyed the Salmon Party Bowl, Uni Nigiri, Wagyu Nigiri, and Agedashi Tofu. My friend loved the Yellowtail Kama, Salmon Belly Nigiri, Otoro Nigiri, and Shrimp Lover Roll. We both thought the Sake Caipirinha was perfectly crafted and not too sweet.
One of the best meals I've had this year so far in 2024. What a treat!
ENJOY!Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - Marcie L.San Diego, CA393193288May 9, 2024
I'm so glad I finally got to check this place out. I sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chef was phenomenal. The one that worked with us came from Sushi Ota.
I had the Wagyu carpaccio, scallop carpaccio, JYT (yellowtail appetizer), Shishito peppers, and nigiri. My favorite was the bluefin tuna.
The service was phenomenal. The atmosphere was great. Everyone was so friendly. This place is a must.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 8, 20241 check-in

Harmony 2B1 has the best sushi and Japanese food I ever had!
I came on a weekend to celebrate a special occasion with my boyfriend, and the staff were very friendly upon arrival. They seated me at the bar as I made reservations before online. Parking was a bit difficult so come a bit early to find a spot.
I decided on the omakase menu, and it was very filling for me. Every dish was fresh, prepared wonderfully, and the fish melts in your mouth! I believe that the price is worth it - though to note, it is a bit higher. My favorite was the spoon of snow crab and toro, as well as the gnocchi. The omakase menu does change, so it might be different for you.
The chef Mickey was super nice and friendly. He always checks up on you and explains every dish. There are two more chefs in the bar as well, preparing food. The space is beautiful with a bar in the middle and some regular seating in its parameter.
5 out of 5 stars. A must-try.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 12, 2024
Visited with my boyfriend. parking lot is small and crowded, so expect to take a few laps before finding a spot!!
we had reservations on a saturday night but it wasn't busy. cute little restaurant with bar seating. service was soo friendly to us and other guests - on top of refills and sending our orders back and forth.
ordered some salmon and ahi sashimi, toro nigiri, and the kaisen don bowl. fish was so fresh and huge portions!! kaisen don bowl was very generous, 2 pieces of each type of fish. reasonable pricing for the quality of fish they provide, but not the best I've ever had. I would return for a nice dinner soon :)Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Matthew K.Monterey, CA576May 18, 2024
Best sushi in San Diego hands down. Had an outstanding experience with the sashimi and nigiri. I highly recommend this restaurant. Staff was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. Only downside was that the parking lot was full. But I am a guaranteed return customer!

Ohhh weeee, so oishi! So glad we came here to eat, it has been on my list for a long time. One of the best and freshest sushi I've had in San Diego!
We got seated at the sushi bar by I am assuming is the owner. Very kind and spoke to us and asked us how we found them.
I started with the scallop and Torched otoro nigiri first and that made me dance! Melted in my mouth for sure. With the otoro being torched and fatty, it kind of reminded me of A5 wagyu. I also got the sushi deluxe and that was so dang good as well.
They had a trio of spoons for an omakase which we didn't get omakase but they did the spoons for us. I ordered 2 sets of the spoons and of course that was so good, that's why I ordered 2 for myself!
The only dish I did not enjoy was the cooked mackerel, which is the Aqua Pazza. I will pass on the cooked items next time because the raw items were so fresh and so good.
The main chef behind the bar did such a good job with chatting with us when not busy but not overwhelming bothersome. Even when busy, they didn't ignore us. Just the perfect amount of attention. Usually when we sit at the sushi bar it's always awkward because we always get ignored but not here. The sushi bar service was so great. We really enjoyed ourselves. I wish we can come here all the time but it's kind of pricey so I'll save for special occasions. It is definitely worth it though!Helpful 6Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - Dec 20, 2023
My friend found this gem for us. I was concerned because my last experience with an omakase sushi restaurant was awful. This place changed my opinion...I'm a fan.
Cute place. Good for dates or a friends night out. Service was excellent.
Food was delicious.
Price was reasonable and fair for the quality
We ordered ala cart. Left very satisfiedHelpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 2 - Nov 3, 2023Seated via Yelp Reservations
My 2nd time coming here, first time was for lunch, and the other was last night for dinner.
So impressed by the happy service staff, sushi chefs, and quality, freshness and presentation of the food.
Fish are all shipped from Japan, lots of unique styles and varieties. I can't decide what I like the most here as I keep getting surprised on the new daily items added to the menu. Please check out yesterday's menu added to my photos under my review.
Next time I go want to try Omakase next time I go, price is very reasonable for what is being offered on the menu.
Getting reservation was a cinch with the Yelp app (get in line) and I think I found one of my favorite sushi places on Convoy.
For sure will be back!Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0
