I have no idea why this DQ has such a low rating. My experience was excellent this evening. Delicious food and top notch employees that were super friendly and helpful. One of them even helped me get my credit card that I dropped out the window. Thanks again! And the blizzard was delicious!

I just couldn't understand the guy manning the drive-thru ordering. Not because he had a foreign accent of some sort, he was a native English speaker, but because he was just mumbling and slurring his words. He would also stop responding sometimes for 40 or 45 seconds, and then start the process again, like I had just pulled up to the microphone.
And all I wanted was a Dilly Bar - my order was certainly not complicated. And, man, it just took forever to get the order in.
When I got to the window, same guy, and he was not looking too good. I don't know what was going on with him, but something was not right. Still having trouble verbalizing. He didn't look very clean, either, which is always unnerving when you're at a place where food handling is occurring. Fortunately, a Dilly Bar comes from the factory pre-wrapped. He gave me extra change and I gave it back to him, and it was like it never happened, he didn't even acknowledge the transaction hiccup.
I know it's hard to hire food service people right now, really hard, but maybe that guy is not cut out for a public-facing position, you know?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The shake was vanilla milk, cold not frozen (took it home and froze it 2 thin pieces of Turkey extra thin bacon-ish... it was a dollop menu snack . I would never refer this joint.. oh, the bread was fresh but the bad service made me forget

Stopped here for lunch before leaving Salem. My husband just wanted an ice cream while I ordered a chicken strip basket. We stood there in front of the clerk and talked about his food choice; I expected him to get a full meal. The clerk repeated my order and we reminded her of the ice cream. She said ok then went to get my drink. Another employee brought my chicken strips but not his ice cream. When he inquired, she said you didn't order any when he clearly had - twice! This was beyond rude. She could have said "I'm sorry, apparently it didn't get punched into the system." But to say you're lying is unacceptable. This place has consistently bad reviews and apparently nothing has improved; the response is nearly always the same. Very poor management if the employees are so poorly trained.

This is one of the worst locations. They almost always make you park and wait for your food, they ALWAYS forget something, and this time I got the added bonus of what looks like charcoal in my burger.

Second time at this location. Though I'd try again after the last horrible experience. Pulled up on a Tuesday 12:45 pm and they said they weren't serving ice cream. Very disappointed.

Worst DQ I've ever been to. Coming back home from Washington, we stopped in to get dinner. We said yes to them charging us $1 for a water that I thought was included in the meal, apparently drinks are no longer included? We got the receipt and it said FREE WATER, but they charged us $0.15 for a free water. Our food was cold, we didn't wait very long for it around front and it wasn't even remotely warm, with very little fries in our chicken strip "basket". I wish I took pictures, both boxes were very sad to look at.

We tried ordering a kids meal for my daughter with a chicken wrap, apple sauce, and milk which is a standard meal we get on a regular basis at many DQ locations. This location told us that because we chose a chicken wrap with the kids meal that the only option was a banana and a water. This is nonsense as the kids menu clearly shows that customers can pick any entree, side, and drink. Like all the locations we go to it just says to pick one from each group. Simple. I tried explaining and asked if we could get our original order but they refused. They insisted that we could only get a banana and water with a chick wrap off the kids menu.
My daughter really wanted her usual DQ meal so I also asked what the apples meant next to the items on the kids menu. I was told that it is part of the healthy kids options. This made it even more nonsensical and bizarre as our order (the chicken wrap, apple sauce, and milk) all had apples next to them.
I asked if they could change it around so we could get our order and was told no. Was also told that this owner required this and they didn't have the options to change it on the register buttons. No manager was available to speak to. Was given a phone number to call but it just went to voicemail. I asked for an email but there was none so I'm leaving my feedback here.
We are big fans of DQ but won't patronize this location again.
Update: Our call and voicemail to the manager was not returned. Very disappointed in the poor customer service at this location. Giving this Dairy Queen 3 stars because it only messes my order up occasionally. Don't get me wrong, they still mess up my order quite frequently, just less often than the other Dairy Queens around town. Also, what's up with charging for a Sunday when a person just wants a dish of plain ice cream? For years it's been the price of a cone why are they now over-charging?
