The only reasons they get four stars is because they stopped selling beer. Pharmacy is way better than Hy-Vee and Walgreens. Also they give you 50c a prescription in rewards! Way better than Walgreens. Pharmacy is always fast
The best part about cvs is their carepass program. For $5 a month you get $10 in store credit plus weekly 40% off an item coupons! Plus more coupons! It's an amazingly great value for $5 a month. I've already saved over $110 in a few months.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kelly M.Lenexa, KS402694May 20, 2024Updated review2 check-ins
I reviewed this store a few years ago and it was a terrible experience. I refused to shop here over that issue and today I made the most horrendous mistake ever by returning. This store has the rudest store manager I've ever encountered. Just terrible. Please take your money elsewhere and save yourself the trouble of being in the same place as these horrible people

I called and spoke to a very nice lady on the phone at around 9:07 and she said my issue was resolved except for my insurance, but I was paying out of pocket so that's a non issue. The meds should of been filled days ago, they actually told me they were ready the day I initially went and then said it would take 1 hour and I stated I'd come back and call first. I did this yesterday and they said they were ready. The lady on the phone said I was on a list but they never filled them and she would push it to the top, and she did. Ok..So, all good, I did some shopping at Hyvee and then went to CVS a hour later. I get to the pharmacy area and was met with a hostile employee named Denise. The register was closed so she had to walk to the back at the drive in window...oh my lord! You would of thought the world was ending, she sighed loudly and said well this register is closed, I have to use the other. I get bad at this point, since she seemed so angry. When she gets back to the register she yells I need your name, I told her twice before she got it. Then she yells well I need a birthday also, she didn't ask before but seemed to blame me for not giving it out. So I had to practically yell my birthday out in front of others. Not a big deal, but so rude of her. I have to sign a receipt and she didn't have a pen, again she sighed loudly and I swear gave me an evil look at went on her way to find a pen, again, not my fault. Then comes the worst part, she had to have my ID which made her walk some more, each trip to that register in the back, I am pretty sure made her ears start smoking from anger. I finally go to pay and use my FSA card from work. She goes use it and said it doesn't work and brings card back, I know it works, it has over $500 on it. I ask her to try again, and she stares at me like I have grew horns. I am asking my husband a question about calling the Card and checking balance and she slammed her hand down on counter and turns around and sighed extremely loudly. She then proceeds to tell me "Lady, I don't know how would I know." I nicely explain to her I was talking to my husband, this annoyed her even more. We call, verify the money is there and I ask again for her to try, again she went on her few steps of a hike and yelled this doesn't work. So, I give up, I'm sure she run it wrong, and I wasn't going to argue as I was afraid her eyes were going to turn into laser beams and burn me on the spot. I put 60$ on the counter and she grabs it and says "You want me to take the money out of this?" I'm pretty sure I had told her this already and off she stomped on her walk to that register. She handed us the change and gave us the most evil stare, I can say this, if Denise is there at the pharmacy and it's closing time...turn around and leave. I didn't pick up my last two meds, I'm having them sent to Costco and I'll never walk back into this CVS again.

Darrel the pharmacist has 0 costumer service ability. Very rude at the window - very annoyed that I asked if I needed to give him a new insurance card - I knew I did and was happy to pull around and wait... to let other customers ahead of me. He then said they don't accept my insurance any more - BCBS. I said I have a good rx card. He sighed heavily. I said do you not want my business? It was terrible service. Horrible attitude from that man. When everyone hates getting RX from cvs you'd think they would want to keep customers. Never going back. Life time lenexa resident and will be spreading the word.

So I get a text saying my prescription is ready and when I get there I notice that it's a large bag and I ask what they have for me which turns out to be a special mouthwash I picked up last month. I point this out and tell the lady behind the counter that it was something else, she asks if I can wait 20 minutes to which I say OK since I had to pick some cough drops and other items. I then get what I need and proceed to the waiting area, at this point 30 minutes have passed and since it was pretty busy I continue to wait, 45 minutes into it I'm asked what I'm waiting on and again I tell this person who then tries to give me the same mouthwash I've already told I had picked up last month, she then fumbles thru whatever on the computer and tells me that she's gonna look into it. An hour into it another person asks the same question and again I go thru the exact same process of me pointing out that no I'm not here for the mouthwash but another item. The other person says that she will work on it and it would be 10 minutes, I pace around and then another person asks what I'm waiting for at this point I'm about to lose it. I give him my info and finally he finds what I came for and tells me that he doesn't know what they're doing over there. Well that was the cherry on top. I used to go to the Walgreens down the street and never had any issues like this one, our insurance changed and we are forced to use this pharmacy which I think I'm just gonna go to one further down the road and see if they don't have their heads in their ass like this one does.

I shopped there for a few things and no one was at register for check out? Finally I used self check out and the one staff member came in from outside. She yelled over (not sure if directed at me or other people using self check out? ) from 15 ft away to tell me my credit card was wrong. She never came close to help me just continued to yell. When I was alone and realized "Jennifer" was addressing me, she said that she was a "loud talker" and "did not like to get up in people's business", declining to look at the machine with me. She said she was working "all alone" (isn't that dangerous)? And that it was "ok for me to leave". Honestly I dont think I ever paid for my items. CVS stores are very inconsistent these days. I hope I am given a suervey for thia store too

This pharmacy is terrible avoid it at all cost. I stood
At the counter making eye contact with 3 employees while they ignored me. Then my script wasn't even ready even tho they sent a text notification saying it was. No explanation just to come back later only to be notified after words my ins didn't cover the meds.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 22, 2020
Ordered my prescription on a Saturday for a Sunday late afternoon pickup. Went at 5 and not ready even though I got a text stating it was. Prices here are so outrageous on everyday essentials and staff is not friendly to each other or customers.

1 star for covid testing. Negative results don't clearly state Negative in the downloadable PDF nor do they state valid laboratory credentials. You should just do a home test instead of going here.

Agree 100% with the others regarding the lack of speed and reliability of this pharmacy.
1) I don't know why their drive thru line takes so much time.
2) I don't know why there is almost ALWAYS a problem and a holdup when processing my prescriptions.
3) They promise to have it ready by a certain time and then don't have it ready, even when I show up 2 hours after the promised time, it isn't ready.
4) When they were unable to locate my prescription on file, I had to call my doctor and have him send it again, only for someone to realize later l it was in the system the whole time (more than once this has happened). 5) The worst part of all: When they have processing problems, which is more times than not, they don't let me know until I arrive at the pharmacy to pick it up. No update text, no communication about a delay. Just silence. I dread dealing with this pharmacy each month.
6) Another issue is the number of texts I have received from CVS asking me if I want to put a medication on auto refill. When I follow the directions and text back confirmation, I expect it to be a done deal. Instead, when I next go to this CVS, I am asked, "Do you want to put this on automatic refill?" Then, the next month, again a text asking me want the medication on automatic refill. I already said yes to this same medication being auto filled twice! I blame the software for this issue. It isn't the fault of the pharmacist or pharmacy tech for asking. 7) The combination of all of these problems makes dealing with CVS an experience that I dread and loathe. I am forced into staying until my final prescription on file is filled. Then, I will happily switch to the Walgreens down the street, where I have not had any of these problems.
I will add that I haven't experienced any problems with the attitudes of the pharmacists or pharmacy techs. They have always behaved in a professional and respectful manner.
I will not be using any CVS pharmacies anymore. I am just one customer, but for the number of times I have experienced problems with having a prescription filled at CVS, I have no doubts that this is an ongoing issue, and many people feel just like me...they just didn't write a review about it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 7833778123May 5, 2013
So, I'm a Walgreens guy, from having worked there briefly in my misspent youth, but there are some things that CVS offers that Walgreens doesn't. One of them is Moneygram. Recently a friend sent me a gift from Japan and I came here, picked up the red phone, verified my identity, and walked out with $100. Pretty cool.
Also picked up some cold medicine. CVS has always struck me as very self-serve. Which is fine, if you know what you are looking for!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
