We needed a place to "hang" for awhile in Atlanta and found this spot. Without a doubt one of the best places I have been.
Our server was very attentive, but not overly so. I had "Moving Castle", a steak sandwich, and a chai latte. Everything was perfect. We needed to stay for awhile and never felt rushed or pushed to leave. We did come in after lunch so it wasn't crowded.
We had a front seat at the window and were able to enjoy watching two way traffic on a road that really shouldn't be.
Needless to say, if we are back in the area we would stop in.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 4, 2023
Yeah buddy, we were in a pinch. My buddy lost his passports, missed his flight and I'm driving him everywhere when the hunger hits.
Peckish? Fine. Hungry? Fine. Very hungry? Workable. Hangriness encroaching..? Uhoh!
Luckily we were near a place I always wanted to try... Carroll Street Cafe!
They set us up outside, gave my buddy the wifi info so he could contact the airlines, got us a menu and I started working on holding the hangriness down. Awesome service here!
I got myself a No Scrubs specialty drink to tame the beast and it was good. Jalapeno tequila, lime and grapefruit sparkling... Mmmmm!
Eggs Muerette deliciously placated the beast within me while my friend enjoyed the Fried Chicken and Grits.
Finally a slice of Raspberry Mousse cake and a cappuccino left the beast slumbering and thoroughly pacified.
I took a slice of the Midnight Express home to my husband but sadly neither one of us enjoyed it, but hey, you can't win them all.
Great food. Great space. Great service.
I shall return.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 27892268May 10, 2024
My friend and I came here for brunch on a random weekday and it was so lovely! The food was great - pancakes are some of the fluffiest I've had - and the server was so attentive. The only downside is parking as you'll have to find street parking around the neighborhood, but it wasn't too hard for us since we came on a weekday.

This place is located in a great spot. I was new to the area, visiting on business and wanted some grits. Going this place on Yelp and it didn't disappoint. Very delicious and the service was even better. Had grits and friend chicken accompanied by an amazing espresso martini.

We had a party of 4 for brunch at 10:30 am on Friday, 7/7/23. Note that the brunch menu is smaller during the weekdays than on the weekend. Service was great! Our waitress was so sweet. Food was decent and came out quickly. Portions were generous! We sat inside, which was really cute! Loved the chalkboard art.
I got the Pancake Plate ($16) with scrambled eggs and chicken sausage. The casing of the sausage was really hard, so I wouldn't get that again. The pancakes were really good and came topped with fruit! The eggs were good too! Someone in my party got the Lox Plate ($15). The bagel looked good, but it came with cream cheese that you would get in a school cafeteria. They gotta up their cream cheese game! Someone else got the Potato Cakes ($7.00 I think), and they said they weren't worth it for the price. I had the Cabbageccino, which was an iced cappuccino with brown sugar, and I personally didn't like it, but someone else in my party did. I liked the Chai Latte. They have a nice coffee menu, all of which can be made hot or cold.
Decent brunch option if you're in the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - May 21, 2023
This is evening late night spot for drinks and dessert. It's got a great outdoor seating and indoor vibes. The bees knees is the best I have ever had. They have a huge selection that changes often (same vendor as at apres diem)
Try it out. I'll be a regular while we have the perfect summer spring weather.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 12, 2023
Carroll Street Café is nestled within a residential street. There's a full bar and plenty of seating options inside, but my friend and I preferred sitting outside. The service was remarkable and our food was served pretty quick!
For appetizers, we ordered a Cheese Plate, Tomato Montrachet, and Mussels. You won't regret getting the latter two of the appetizers! The marinara in the Tomato Montrachet had a velvety texture, and the goat cheese was very creamy. As for the mussels, I'm not a huge fan of these molluscs, but the white wine garlic broth that this dish came in was amazing! Unfortunately, the Cheese Plate was mediocre; nothing fancy or tasty about it.
For entrees, we tried the Salmon Ciabatta Sandwich, Pan Roasted Sea Bass, and Penne Albufera with Shrimp. The salmon was too dry, but the sea bass and shrimp were cooked to perfection. The Penne Albufera was overloaded with cheese. My favorite entree among these three was the Pan Roasted Sea Bass. While the price point is on the higher end, I do think you get a good portion of food. Overall, our meal was healthy and fresh!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
