When I visit Bend I always eat at Cafe Yumm at least once, sometimes more. The location at Old Mill is the OG when they first franchised. It's easy for take out or a casual meal. Order at counter or perfect for delivery. Love all their bowls, always get a BBQ tofu skewer bc they are so tasty and we never leave Bend without a bottle of Yumm sauce to take home. Was sad they no longer offer the tempeh Ruben but the jazzy bowl is still very satisfying.

It's healthy, fast, inexpensive, filling, and soooo good!! So far everything, I tried has been AWESOME!!! ALL the bowls are made with super fresh ingredients so you can't go wrong no matter what you order. The Yumm sauce is creamy and adds such a nice flavor to all the bowls plus it's vegan. My husband and I always have a big bottle of Yumm sauce in our fridge so we can make our own bowls at home and he likes it on eggs too. One of the things I always order is a tofu skewer because they are sooo good. The texture of the tofu is crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and the BBQ sauce is very tasty. But my most recent addictions are the veggie burger and tempeh reuben. My husband and I order one of each so we can split them b/c we love both of them equally. The house made (vegan) veggie burger has a great texture and the Asian slaw and yummy sauce make it one of the best veggie burgers out there. The reuben is full of flavor and perfectly prepared, even a non-vegetarian will enjoy it. For non-vegetarian, this place offers Salmon Burgers, Turkey Ruebens, and Chicken too. The best thing about Yumm is how much food you get for not too much money. Plus you don't feel weighed down when you walk out of there. Cafe Yumm is healthy fast food that is vegetarian and vegan friendly. Finally something that caters to veggies such as myself.

I like the taste, but, $18 plus tip for a small bowl of rice, beans, carrots and about an ounce of chicken for lunch is ridiculous! Restaurants keep raising their prices because of the increase in food prices and increase in payroll costs etc. so I understand that, but I do not understand serving smaller portions with less meat on top of the higher prices. Pick one or the other. I know that the bowl I just ate was about $1-2 worth of ingredients. I feel like restaurants are taking advantage of the already inflated costs by shrinking portion size and I find it disturbing. Next time I will buy my own ingredients, toss them around in a pan with some sauce and save $16.

However, I'm pretty sure they used minute rice. If not, the rice was definitely undercooked. I got chicken with my bowl and it was very dry. The tomatoes were pale and unripe. Cheese was cold. It was just overall gross.

Not a fan of vegan-esque joints serving small portions of rice + greens slathered in sauce. It's fine that the distaff/yoga crowd finds it compelling. But my palate prefers more substantial grub over greens. It's all about the nail....

I came here after several hours of exercise. I wanted a healthy lunch. It's basically a Mexican bowl. Brown rice, avocado, beans, salsa, cheese olives, sour cream and cilantro is the original, there are very little variations. You can have it in a wrap or salad. There are 3 sizes - S,M,L the M and L look very similar so I got the medium. All in all it was good. I've had better tasting bowls. Nonetheless, it was easy and what I needed at the time. All came out very fresh.
