I recently had the pleasure of dining at Benjamin Steakhouse Prime for a company event, and I must say, it was a truly memorable experience. We opted for the prix-fixe menu, which offered a variety of appetizers and mains to choose from.

For my appetizer, I selected the crab cake, which was generously sized and packed with delicious crab meat - no filler in sight. The seafood platter that followed was a real showstopper, featuring enormous shrimp, delectable oysters, and succulent clams.

Moving on to the main course, my table decided to share the Porterhouse for 2, lamb chops, halibut, and risotto. While the Porterhouse was good, I found the filet side to be more tender than the other side. The lamb chops, on the other hand, were exceptional - perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The halibut was slightly overcooked for my taste, but a squeeze of lemon helped elevate the dish. Unfortunately, the risotto fell short with undercooked rice and lackluster flavor.

Dessert was a delightful assortment of petit fours, offering a sweet end to the meal. The drinks were expertly crafted and the service was top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring a seamless dining experience throughout the evening.

Overall, Benjamin Steakhouse Prime offers a sophisticated atmosphere, delicious food, and impeccable service. While there were a few misses with certain dishes, the highlights far outweighed any shortcomings. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or business event.

Let me start by saying this was the worst "high end" restaurant that I've ever been to. The staff was rude and inattentive, food was lacking flavor, and the whole experience was lack luster.

We had terrible service by the waiter. Perhaps our attire was too casual for them or maybe it's because we were a table of only females. I would not normally think that, but we were definitely not treated the same as the two tables near us. The drunken table behind us, full of men in suits and women in skimpy dresses, seemed to be treated just fine and so did the techy solo man seated next to us. Just as one example, the waiter brought us tap water and did not offer anything else; a bit later he asked the man next to us if he'd like tap water, bottled water, or anything else to drink. That man's food also came out almost immediately, while ours took an extremely long time to come out. The waiter had an attitude and rarely came around to check on us, acting like everything was a bother. The setting was very unwelcoming and uncomfortable. Not sure what the problem was (sexist or classist) but it is unacceptable for a restaurant of this cost to act that way.

Additionally the food needed more seasoning and it was very unimpressive for the price. The fish was also not cooked how I ordered it... and it was cut up, so there should not have been any confusion with the cook level. Please don't waste your money here.

Came with my family for restaurant week on a Sat night, definitely a busy time, that is to be expected. Lobster bisque was thick and creamy, scottish salmon tartare was really good, pleasantly surprised by it, huge bone-in ribeye, perfectly cooked and seasoned, so was the filet mignon. The steak fries were crispy, the mash and creamed spinach was smooth. The brussel sprouts a little on the salty side. Great house steak sauce. Steak knives need to be sharpened, they were so dull.

Our waiter was great and accommodating. It did get hard to get some service towards the end of the meal for water and take out boxes but again, it was a busy night so, gotta cut them some slack. Interior decor is nice & clean, comfy seats, not too dimly lit. Personally don't like it when I can't see my food or who I'm dining with!

I came here with my partner and his mom for dinner during restaurant week and it was ok. The place is clean and very much has a steakhouse vibe. We were seated by the windows and the curtains kept drifting over and brushing the back of my head. When we asked if there's something we can do about keeping the curtain away, our waiter said "no" and walked away. The service was a bit cold. The food came quickly but we had to keep actively seeking out the staff for questions about the food and to get drinks. And each time our waiter would come, he would look like we were the biggest nuisance.

I started with the grilled calamari (too salty but otherwise good). The sirloin was perfectly cooked to a medium rare but was lacking in flavor. The ribeye that my partner got was delicious! The chocolate cake at the end was rich and creamy.

Under seasoning in my opinion. Service is absolutely 100% perfect!! Great wine and place is classy. Perfect for date night.

I live nearby and went with friends who were visiting, and I regret that decision!

The restaurant is in midtown, so of course there are a lot of folks in business attire, but we totally felt that we were looked down upon and disrespected because we were dressed casually. (By that, I mean we were not in suits and shirts.)

No one checked on us, but I saw other tables being checked on multiple times.

When the food came, the waiters almost threw the plates on our table, not even bothering to place them in front of us (my main dish was dumped on the right side of the knife, to give you a better idea).

When we were having desserts, the waiter came and put the check in the middle of our table, without a word. I looked at the tables around us, some of which were also having desserts. Nobody else received the same treatment. After we paid, and when we were still finishing the desserts, the waiter had the audacity to pick up the check to look and took it away. What kind of establishment does that? Are they worried we're tourists who won't leave gratuity? I was shocked. Our friends also thought that's super rude behaviour.

Finally - the food. It's nothing to write home about. But I usually don't leave bad reviews for mediocre food. This is an exception because the service was so bad, it's borderline discrimination.

This is clearly a popular spot based on how crowded it was on a Wed night and a popular spot for celebs based on dozens of pictures on the wall. We got a room upstairs since it was a fairly large group and the food and service were above average. Everyone was pleased with the meal.

I've been to this restaurant a couple times. For my most recent visit, I came here with a group of three for dinner on a Sunday night around 6 PM. When I arrived, my group was not all present yet but they still gave us an option of sitting down at the table anyways. This is likely due to the fact that the restaurant was fairly empty at this time and still had a lot of available tables.

They started off by giving us some rolls which were nice. The butter it came with was very flavorful and went well with the rolls. I just wish the rolls were warm when they were served.

Afterwards, we shared a FILET MINON TARTARE. The quality of the meat was very nice. The flavor was ok, it was way too heavy on the truffle though. The toasted bread it came with really went well with the tartare as well,

We also got a side of JUMBO LUMP CRABCAKE. The flavor of the crabcake was very well done, there was a lot of sauce in the bottom though which didn't really seem necessary. Additionally, I really wish they gave more than one medium sized crab cake for over 20 dollars.

We got a PORTERHOUSE STEAK FOR THREE to share and it was huge. We ended up having so much left after our meal. The flavor was pretty good but it was a bit more undercooked than I would have liked it.

We got some MASHED POTATOES and BRUSSEL SPROUTS on the side which were average but a nice accompaniment. The brussel sprouts were a bit too burnt for my taste though.

For dessert we shared the MIXED BERRIES and MOLTEN CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE. The berries were very fresh and came with a lot of whipped cream so it was a great finish for the meal. The lava cake was also very yummy and chocolatey and I also enjoyed it a lot.

Service throughout the meal was very efficient and quick. Food came out at a reasonable pace.

All in all, a nice steakhouse but unfortunately nothing too special compared to the many other options in the city.

My new favorite steak house. It doesn't have the traditional old school NY steak house decor which was a little disappointing, but I can live with this because the steak was excellent.

We kicked off the meal by sharing some lamb chops as an appetizer. This is possibly the best lamb chops that I've had to date. Cooked perfectly, and very strong lamb flavor.

For the main, ordered the porterhouse. They nailed the medium rare cook. And it had a really nice dry age flavor. I sometimes struggle to taste the dry age flavor of steaks, but this was quite prominent.

They have a large variety of scotch on the menu, including some really high end stuff.

Had reservations for this place on a Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. Once we arrived, we immediately noticed how packed the place and there was a bunch of people waiting to be seated. We let the host know that we had arrived for our reservation, and were told to wait by the bar for a few minutes. We waited around 15 minutes, and then were taken to their upstairs dining area by one of the staff.

The interior of the restaurant was dim and romantic, and staff were friendly and attentive. Lucking the place wasn't super loud so we were able to speak to one another without having to scream. It was Restaurant week so we decided to take advantage of that menu. We started with the lobster bisque and burrata. Both were delicious. Next we both got the NY strip steak for our entrees. Unfortunately it was underwhelming in my opinion. I was really excited for steak but, unfortunately it didn't live up to my steak standards. I've had way better steak in other places in NYC. We ended our meal with the chocolate mousse cake which was divine. Overall it r was a great Restaurant week deal for $60 (tax and tip not included) but, not a place I'd come back to for steak.
