Baiano SF Pizza in Hayes Valley is nothing short of amazing! Just a 10-minute walk from BART, this pizza haven delivers a delightful experience. Visiting around 7 pm last night, we appreciated the uncrowded atmosphere and the charming rustic interior adorned with ample wood, exuding an authentic Italian vibe.

The ordering process, done through a machine, added a unique touch, though the attentive guy behind the counter made it feel personal. Opting for the Hot Honey and Sausage Pizza at $4.50 a slice, we were pleasantly surprised by the affordability.

Now, onto the main star - the Hot Honey and Sausage Pizza. Initially skeptical about the combination, it turned out to be a flavor revelation! The honey-infused dough struck the perfect balance between softness and crunch. The smoky, heavenly-spiced sausage brought an irresistible touch of saltiness, creating a harmonious sweet-and-savory medley. To crown it all, generous dollops of ricotta melted in your mouth, adding a creamy finish to each bite.

While we were too full to explore the full menu, the Hot Honey and Sausage Pizza has firmly placed Baiano SF Pizza among my top pizza spots in SF. The unexpected flavor combination is a testament to their creativity and culinary prowess. I can't wait to return and explore more enticing flavors. A must-try for pizza enthusiasts!

The owner is an unpleasant person to conduct business with. I ordered a slice that was unavailable, so was asked to choose another type. I chose another slice that was available (and cheaper) and was told it was the same price. I know it wasn't because I saw the menu. When I asked for the refund of the difference, the owner replied "what refund?" In this case the refund was less than a dollar but dishonest business practices makes me want to stay away. If you're from out of town and considering this place, skip it.

Pizza was fair. Received warm but nothing additional to add.

      Home away from home.

Baiano Pizzeria is not just a place for great pizza, it's a home away from home, thanks to Rudy. For over 8 years, I've seen him tirelessly ensure every customer feels welcome and satisfied. Whether it's during slow hours or busy rushes, Rudy is a one-man show, answering phones, prepping ingredients, serving tables, and even bussing them. His dedication and warmth make Baiano Pizzeria a gem in our community. Here's to hoping Rudy gets the recognition and fair pay he deserves for being such a vital asset to this establishment.

      Edit :

      Disappointing Management Experience

My recent interaction with Ian, the manager at Baiano Pizzeria, left me deeply disappointed. Despite my positive review about Rudy, an exceptional employee, Ian reached out to request its deletion, citing his authority over the restaurant's operations. However, in my numerous visits, I've only ever encountered Rudy, never Ian.

Ian's arrogant attitude and unfounded accusations about my understanding of business were completely uncalled for. Despite my family's successful businesses in San Francisco and my own experience as a construction foreman, Ian chose to disrespect me rather than address my legitimate praise for Rudy's hard work.

It's disheartening to witness such poor management overshadow the efforts of a great team. Ian's thirst for power seems to have clouded his judgment and humility. Until a change in management occurs, I'll be hesitant to return to Baiano Pizzeria. Not surprised one of the locations already closed

Got the chicken parm sandwich here and it was reasonably solid. The chicken felt a little like frozen chicken tenders but between the bread, sauce, and cheese it fit in just fine.

If you're looking for a unique flavor combination, a slice of the sausage and honey pie is the right choice. It comes with dollops of mascarpone, slices of serranos, clumps of sausages, and drizzles of honey. This trinity of sweet, savory, and spicy makes for an addicting bite. They also have a $20 special where you can eat as many slices as you'd like for 1.5 hours. I enjoyed the bossa nova playing overhead, so if you're looking for a truly authentic Italian experience, this is not it. But if you're just looking for an interesting slice around Hayes Valley, this is the place for you. The only negative would be the crust. It's not the best taste or texture since it's got the same density as cardboard. But I'll excuse it for the sausage and honey.

Baiano is dishing up thin-ish crust pizza with a Brazilian flair. Alongside a menu of normal pizza offerings, you can find a more niche menu of things like coxinhas, grilled frog legs, and chicken heart.

We opted for pizza this time around and I would say my experience matched the reviews. Service was not super friendly or welcoming. At the time, they only were serving whole pizzas, so we got two personal pizzas that came out to a whopping $50.

The honey and sausage pizza was really delicious - the blobs of burrata were super decadent and went well with honey and crispy sausage bits. The crust was crispy and not too thick. The Maui aloha was just ok - I've had better ham and pineapple pizzas.

We took our order out, but the interior would be a nice place to eat a quick bite. I wish the schedule of selling slices vs. whole pizza was posted somewhere. I might come back to try the appetizers, but I still can't find a better tasting deal than a Costco slice.

I work around the corner from this pizza joint. I was getting kind of annoyed at spots near Hayes Valley charging $14 for a small chicken sandwhich or something without a drink or fries or anything. So I wandered around and stumbled upon Baiano and a flyer outside for a $12 lunch special - Sandwhich, drink, fries. I'm sold.

What I got was an absolutely panini. I was quite shocked at the quality and what I received. I was expecting a lame sub-roll and some Americans cold cuts-- I got a gourmet panini with roasted garlic, olives, arugula, cured meat, topped with cilantro, and parmiggiano. What a steal!

The owner works at the register which is nice to see. The employees behind the counter are polite and are quite good at what they do. The ambiance is soothing and quite a relaxing little nook for a quick bite.

Will be back (over and over)

Sausage and honey pizza! Hands down. If you are a fan of savory and sweet, you have to try this. The feeling of the Serrano pepper hitting your tongue then calmed by the honey is drool worthy. I ordered it on a thin crust, but am wondering if I would like other crusts as much. I saw they do an all you can eat special, which I'm tempted to try as well.

This is a great spot in Hayes Valley to grab a slice or personal pizza on the weekends. The Sausage and Honey is fantastic -- a white pie with mascarpone, sausage, serrano chili, and honey on top. The Pesto Potato Garlic is a close second. Really recommend people come here for extremely flavorful pizzas. And the folks who work here and the owner is always friendly!

First and foremost: has anyone ever seen a sandwich with less meat?

I live around the block from Baiano and was so excited to see the lunch special: $12.99 for a sandwich, drink and chips. I walk in and order, but there are no options for adjustments.

      1) I ask one of the guys working there if he can make it with pepperoncinis and no cheese (trying to keep it light during the workday and avoid the afternoon slump) - he says he can skip the cheese but can't make any additions. I can see peppers in the ingredient tray right next to olives and tomatoes and everything else but say sure, whatever.

      2) I walk over to the cooler to grab a root beer and ask I close the door he shouts over to me 'only can drinks for lunch special.' Alright, fine.

      3) The sandwich takes nearly 20mins to make. It is literally a panini - premade ingredients that you press/bake. On top of that, not a soul has entered the shop since I have come in. How

      4) I get home and open it up - smells great. But it's covered in parm. The guy had repeated back to me 'ok, no cheese' and then douses it in parm.

      5) Halfway through eating the sandwich there's a small chip of brown waxpaper from the box in the sandwich

      6) The sandwich has virtually no meat at all. When you read "Authentic Panini" (hilarious name, by the way) you're expecting a nice thick layer of a couple different types of meat. This one has maybe six slices of salami on the entire sandwich.

      7) The reason why it's 2stars instead of 1star: the bread is great. Fresh, warm focaccia. Doesn't change the fact that the sandwich is basically focaccia stuffed with way more olives than meat, but gotta give them credit for the one win they had today.
