I've had an amazing experience working with the Wimmer Solutions team. They have a dedicated Engagement team and provide comprehensive support for their Contract and Consultant team members. I especially appreciated the opportunity to participate in their benefits plan and home office equipment they provided. As a firm with over 20 years of experience in the Pacific Northwest and beyond, they are a reputable employer highly worthy of including in your current job search.

Steer clear of getting a contract from Wimmer. They won't help you get a good salary, they don't return your phone calls, they don't care about you and then you get about 20 emails from different vendors. One for paycheck, one for timecard, one for something else, etc. Seriously. They suck. Go with a reputable agency that works for you and provides a seamless experience like Del Oro.

Wimmer was a good employer to me. My salary was competitive, because I negotiated that. I was treated well, because I wouldn't be treated any other way.
Working for, or with, a consulting/vending company is a tough business at times- you'll need to be a strong self-advocate and negotiator. That's true across the business though. The negative reviews here are more representative of the entire industry than they are of this company.
I maintain personal friendships years later because of the experience I gained with Wimmer. My recruiter at Wimmer is still who I refer friends to- she was one of the few whom I consulted with who actually took the time to talk to me like a human being about what work I was interested in doing, and the work that I had done. She's been promoted and probably no longer has time to read reviews- but if she's reading this, GREAT JOB!
I have experience with several vending companies that deal in the Seattle area. None of them were as honest and straightforward as Wimmer. They have been far and away the highest quality vending agency in town- and as an FTE at Microsoft I constantly advocated for them. I would highly recommend them both as an employer and as a service provider.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Andy R.Las Vegas, NV18405569Oct 19, 2013
I was contacted by a recruiter here who, for some reason, was posting a job on behalf of a company in Reno, NV. It turns out the said company is one of the top "revolving door companies" in town that happens to be issuing all-points bulletins to every recruiting agency on earth right now trying to get some of their positions filled, so I guess a few out-of-staters can't hurt, yeah? In addition, the said company is embroiled in one of the biggest casino employee lawsuits in history - picture 4700+ people getting screwed out of overtime wages. Whoever would want to be representing an environment like that is beyond me, but then there was Wimmer.
Anyhow, a scheduled phone appointment/interview never took place, followed by an email a couple of days later stating that my phone "just rang and rang with no answer or voicemail," which is a complete crock - I've had the same phone number for over a decade, in three different states, and even in the most remote mountain towns, this has never happened. I think certain people forget sometimes about today's technology with caller ID and time/date stamp on cell phones when they're making up excuses like this, but oh well. The call was rescheduled for the following day, and I received it, 45 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. Enough said about professionalism!
It's funny that the previous reviewers mentioned low pay, theft, and a remodeled waterfront office with a yacht, because that's the impression I got of this place, via one phone call, even before I found it on Yelp!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Becca L.Seattle, WA1644109Mar 1, 2016
I've been working at WImmer HQ since October and It's great! I was hired after applying to a job posting I found on monster.com. I had a phone interview, then came in for two separate in person interviews and one more phone interview with an Executive who was out of town. The hiring process was simple and my recruiter was communicative and understanding of my needs.
There are several sectors of employment to consider while reading this review. Wimmer HQ staff, and consultants. I am an HQ employee, therefore my experience with Wimmer is slightly different than consultants.
The HQ office is located on the northern edge of beautiful Lake Union. If you are interviewing to be a consultant, you might visit our office for an onboarding meeting after an offer has been presented.
Overall, I've had a positive experience with Wimmer Solutions. There has been a good amount of turnover since October with changing objectives in the business. The Executives are communicative and are always willing to chat if their door is open. Employees are fun to work with and easy to talk to; we often go out for coffee or lunch.
Wimmer offers a unique charitable gift matching policy and also covers registration for events like 5k runs if they are supporting a charity or good cause. I've been very impressed with the Community outreach portion of Wimmer Solutions, who seems to do good things just because they are good, not for the press or the business value.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - T H.Bothell, WA44715Jun 23, 2011First to Review
Great people and staff. Mostly Wimmer specializes in Microsoft contracts. I worked here a while and enjoyed the atmosphere and culture. They often do nice dinners for their employees. One thing to keep in mind, always compare the rate of pay between vendors.. this vendor tends to pay low for a tech consulting firm. I can tell why.. they have a giant remodeled office on the waterfront with a company yacht at the dock. Another thing, if you get let go on good terms for no reason.. don't expect any advance notification until the day your contract is up.

Think many times ahead before working with the Wimmer, and if you want to work with them then check 100 times your rate and how much your skills and experience are worth well ahead in advance. I was new to Seattle, and was hired for a contract with them and they lied to my employer about my rate, and took advantage of me as a new employee in Seattle as I was not sure what my rate should be, and eventually they ended taking 55% of the whole rate and giving me peanuts. TOTAL THIVES and SHAMELESS. In terms of medical benefits, there is a registration date for this, if you miss it for any reason you will not be able to have medical benefits at all again. Couldn't wait to stop working with them, and here I am writing my review about my bad experience with them.
