Warung Indonesian Halal Restaurant offers a true authentic taste of Indonesian cuisine in the Atlanta metro area. It is run by a husband and wife who work very hard to deliver the best food and service. It was opened right before the pandemic started in March 2020, thank goodness they survived! Please come check them out, you won't be disappointed. Here is what we ordered:

Sate ayam - grilled chicken skewers. Comes in 5. It comes with longtong which is compacted rice to enjoy with the meat as well as the peanut and chili sauce. Price is $13.50

Nasi Padang. Combo dish consists of beef rendang, gulai ayam (chicken curry), padang-styled green collards, deep fried egg in balado sauce and green relish. Price is $17.99

Free chicken vegetable soup as appetizer

Came here with a friend for dinner and this is a cute family owned business. The staff was very nice and we ordered a few items to sample from the menu. They provided complimentary soup while waiting for our food. The food itself was very flavorful and authentic.

I've been meaning to try this place for a really long time, but since I live south of Atlanta, it's a trek to come up here.

I finally got the chance to, and I'm so glad I did. I will definitely be coming back to order more food.

Service is simple, straightforward, and welcoming. The menu is vast, and there's enough options for different people with different tastes. Interior decor is very reminiscent of Indonesia.

Out of the eight people eating there, I was one of the two non-indonesians eating. You can tell that it attracts the Indonesian community, and the server seems to know all of them personally.

Food was delicious, plated nicely. I definitely enjoyed the fried hard boiled egg. It has been years since I've had one, and it definitely made me happy to find a place that makes it.

My friend and I wanted to give this place a try so we dined in. The restaurant is small but intimate and definitely promotes the Indonesian culture, which I love. I also get the sense that this establishment definitely gets a lot of take out orders. With that being said, service is on the slower side but our waiter was super friendly and it didn't bother us too much. The food was freshly prepared and it was so good. I highly recommend the vegetable fritters, and the number 11 on the menu. The avocado juice was great as well! I will definitely be coming back.

I've been dying to try Warung for months. Finally made it there! Located on Buford Hwy (ITP) in a tiny plaza so use GPS and drive slowly.
The restaurant is small, with approximately 6 tables, but we were seated immediately on a Friday night. Food is fresh and sooo good.
Owner singlehandedly worked the floor taking orders, serving and cleaning. This made service slow but it's very much worth it!
Go on an adventure and give Warung a try.

We were a party of 8 and although we had a table, the service was very, very slow. I think the food arrived after 50 minutes or so.
We sampled some of the recommended dishes, but nothing stood out like we had to come back. I ordered the nasi goreng (Indonesian fried rice) which was very flavorful but the amount was pretty small. This is probably the first time I ordered a rice dish and didn't get full unfortunately.
Maybe I need to come back at a better time.

Came here around 7PM on Friday night. There are about 10 tables and only one was open that we were just on time to snag.

All of us ordered the Nasi Padang as per everyone's recommendations. It was SUPER flavorful and delicious - every part of it! The egg was covered in a slightly spicy sauce. The chicken and beef had a nice curry-like sauce, also a little bit of spice, as well as some collard greens + a side of a salsa verde-esque sauce. Each part had unique and explosive flavor. SO GOOD.

Overall, SUPER delicious food at a cute family-owned place. Takes a bit to get the food (45+ min ish?) but honestly pretty worth it. Service was super friendly and nice. Highly recommend!

I will qualify this by saying the takeout experience was very different from dine in. This five star review is for dining in. We went on a Saturday for lunch. The staff are incredibly friendly. It's a no frills space.

      Food:
      1) The starter of the chicken soup is amazing. Complimentary and delicious. I'm not even a huge soup person and i loved it. The broth was so flavorful. Would easily just order the soup as a meal.

      2) Beef skewer: delicious and wonderfully seasoned and tender. Enjoyed the accompanying sauces, they were delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of the rice cake things but that's just me. I wish they were thicker /more generous portions

      3) bakwan: we tried one of each. I preferred the one with the cabbage (as opposed to the corn one) but both were perfectly fried and fresh.

      4) pastel: not bad and no real critique but not something I'd say you must get

      5) mie goreng : DELICIOUS. Flavorful and fresh and actually gave you some meat. Would definitely get again

      6) beef redang: the flavor was really good. We just got the beef with the rice. I was a bit disappointed that the beef wasn't more tender, the majority of pieces were tough and chewy. The few pieces that were fall apart were delicious with coconut milk and the spices.

Although I've had Indonesian food in the Netherlands, this was our first foray into this ethnic cuisine in Atlanta. I would describe it as a cross between Thai, Indian, and Chinese food, with gorgeous aromas, spicy flavors, and both savory and sweet notes. We had a small lunch of only 2 items - an appetizer of deep fried veggie pie, very light and crispy on the outside and filled with corn, carrots and peas. Like a lighter version of a Jamaican patty. Very good. Did not come with a sauce and probably should have. We also shared a combination platter with pieces of tender slow cooked sirloin steak, a tender flavorful chicken thigh smothered in a curry or Garam masala paste, curried, spicy collard greens, a deep fried hard boiled egg and white rice, with a green spicy chili sauce on the side. The beef and chicken were both tender and soft, not over cooked. The greens were yummy.

The ambiance is nice with ornate, colorful Indonesian furniture - seating for about 20.

Service was friendly and attentive. Would like to come back with a group to try more dishes. Recommended.
