It would be great if they answered the phone during business hours......ever. Also it would be great if the postal worker brought packages to our door. I inquired as to why they didn't and they just told me they weren't sure. Okay great. I would love to have my packages delivered and for me not to be doing the job. At least start paying ME if I'm doing it.

This is the worst postal service I've ever had. They refuse to deliver packages to my apartment door, but there are NEVER any lockers available. They don't ever try again. The only way to get the package is to go to the post office. The only time I can get there is Saturday. So, basically every Saturday is waiting for them to find my package.
What a joke. And the postmaster is a jerk.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jorge C.FL, FL014Jul 20, 2023
It seems like myself and many other home owners have to physically go into the post office to get our mail. We tried calling the post master but the phone inevitably hangs up before anyone answers. There is a lack of accountability and/or initiative to get mail delivered to their homes.

Some excellent service for in-person visits, but when it comes to having mail undelivered or lost, or having someone answer the phone during regular hours, it offers appalling service. I have never had so much mail gone missing, or received so much of my neighbors' mail until I moved to Camas. It's been going on for years. Usually my neighbors and I simply redeliver to each other, but one neighbor opens my mail before leaving in my mailbox. (I suspect that's a crime) This is the 3rd time I attempted to complain to a PO employee about it:
Day #1: I called because of missing tax forms that companies had sent out but I never received, plus my mail was once again being delivered to the letter-opening neighbor. I spoke with a worker who took a message to leave for "Jeremy" the Postmaster. He did not return my call.
Day #2: Called again, got a different worker who took notes on my complaint to leave with the postmaster again. Again no return call. The worker also suggested I call 7 to 9 a.m. when "Jeremy" was in the office.
Day #3: I called continuously from 8:30-9:20 a.m.. Post office hours, according to phone message, start at 8:30 a.m.. No one answered.
In my experience, the Camas Post Office, under the "direction" of "Jeremy" the postmaster, is incompetent not only in handling my mail, but in communicating within the work place and with the public it is supposed to serve.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Caran K.Camas, WA01092Mar 9, 2021
I want to Thank the Camas Post Office/Post Master for tracking a package going to Muskegon MI, that the shipping label had fallen off..
Long story short; the package ended up at Fort Rucker, AL. The Post Office (Camas, WA) traced it down & found the package & got it to the Muskegon address!! I can't Thank them enough!! The package contained some very precious old family photos. Thank You again!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin H.Webster, NY010Jan 11, 2020
I would be so embarrassed to work at USPS in Camas. I have lived in several states and am amazed the pride every USPS service has had in going above and beyond. Well that is until I moved to Camas. Seriously the laziest and most imcompetent group of individuals I've met. Camas residents wish you would seriously take some pride in what you do. You don't have to be the laughing stock of the community. I mean its easy, smile, be nice, deliver mail and packages. Wow imagine that?

It's so sad to see how bad the USPS has gotten over the years since our regular post lady retired. I am constantly getting "sorry we missed you" notices for our certified mail when clearly we are home. My car is parked in front of my house! I work from home so I'm home all day. Then the notices are being put into my mailbox instead of my door. My mail used to be here at 12:30pm on the dot. Now I sometimes get it after 4pm. We had such good service before and I know that maybe we were just spoiled because we had such an awesome post lady but I don't appreciate our post delivery person lying about trying to delivering my mail when i know they didn't even try. I hate having to go to the post office to pick up my mail. It takes time to go down to the post office and then it takes forever to get someone to help you. Plus their hours are super inconvenient. I'd love to see the USPS hire people that really care about their job and who care to do it right.

The absolute worst post office I have ever seen. They can't get anything right, lose packages and don't care, don't even try to get anything in the right mailbox, never call back or follow-up on anything. The supervisor is an idiot who doesn't care. Why do we have to put up with such poor service? No accountability!

I hate to write a negative review, but this post office is absolutely incompetent. On 4/4 I received a slip saying they "missed me" (at my office, where there's always someone around) and would redeliver. There was no note saying specifically why they didn't deliver, but I thought maybe they needed a signature, so I went online and scheduled a redelivery for 4/6. I wrote in my address and tracking number for the package, with a note in the special instructions section, saying to leave it at the front desk if no one was available to sign. I received a confirmation email stating it would be redelivered on 4/6. Nothing came on 4/6. Then the weekend came and went, and still nothing. On 4/10, I called the 800 number on the back of the slip, and the recording said that it would be a 50 minute wait, but all tracking information was available on the website. I went to the website and tracked the package, and it said the package had been processed as Return to Sender on 4/4...the day of the original slip saying it would be redelivered. I should mention, the slip also has a handwritten note saying "Reminder BEFORE FINAL NOTICE"(yes, in all caps like that)...this was obviously not the case, as they literally took it back to the post office and processed it to be returned that same day. Not to mention, this post office is only open from 6-11AM and 2-4PM...so even if I had driven over there the same day the slip was delivered, they would've been closed by the time I got there. The man I spoke with on the phone was genuinely kind and apologetic (the one nice part of this experience), and explained that there was an "insufficient address" and that the sender had not listed the suite number, so that's why it was returned. The truth is, it's a very small building (there are only three suites inside) and it would take all of 45 seconds for someone to walk to each front desk and ask. I also provided my suite number in the redelivery request (although I later found out that by the time I did this, it had already been processed as return to sender). I also find it interesting that the address was sufficient enough to provide this "we missed you" slip, but it wasn't sufficient enough to deliver the package.
TL; DR: There was no effort made to deliver this package, or even to hold on to it for a few days like they're supposed to do (and the note claimed they were doing). The whole thing reeks of incompetence and contradictions. It's also not the first issue I've had with this post office. I sincerely hope someone can fix this place, because as this town grows, it's going to need a competent post office. In the meantime, I'll be using FedEx whenever possible. It's absolutely worth it to pay a small premium and avoid going through this post office.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shannon L.Camas, WA552Jan 9, 2018
Personnel are very nice at this post office. Everything goes very smoothly at all my visits. I also have a mail box here and love their system. If you get a package, they put a key in your box to retrieve it in a bigger box. The post office is also beautiful as it is old so is old fashioned looking. Very classic! I've taken pictures. It is definitely a historical sight by the looks of it. It adds beauty to the classy and quaint downtown Camas, Wa.
