Union New American

Suchhhh a great spot in Tampa! Went after visiting the museum.
For starters, the waitress was absolutely amazing. She made great recommendations & was sooo sweet. The vibe, aesthetic & ambiance was perfect of the whole place.
- The starry night cocktail was very refreshing & well made, a little more expensive ($18).
- The waitress recommended the milk bread & I'm sooo glad I went w/ it. It was a tad sweet but salty as well & the butter to go w/ it elevated the starter !!
- I'm a biggg raw oyster fan but decided to give the roasted oysters a shot (also a recommendation from the waitress) , it was soo well made! Fresh but also grilled to perfection!
- The sushi was amazing. The bottom roll was my favorite!
I def look forward to visiting again & trying other things (& reordering the bread)

I've been to Union New American twice now and it's been wonderful both times. Don't expect to have a quick dinner as it can take a little time for the dishes to come out but their delicious drinks will distract you and the food is well worth the wait!
The menu is diverse but cohesive, you can't go wrong with anything you choose.
I did celebrate my birthday there and they put a "happy birthday to" sign on the table without filling in the space for the name which was a little odd, it's those types of details that can really set an establishment apart but I'm being nit-picky since everything else was truly great.

Will absolutely be back!

Realistically I give Union a 4.5 but because the ambiance and service was above and beyond I give it a 5/5! When we walked in the general manager Steve rode the elevator with us and showed us to the upstairs bar area. The upstairs had live music and it was great! The bar has two large TVs and plenty of bartenders who were very hard working. They really go above and beyond!

My one complaint would be the food. All of our dishes came out a little cold. Our favorite thing was the burger! The tuna roll was also very very good! The ambiance and the service make this place worth coming back!!

I came here for a girls night and it was awesome! I had heard great things, but never tried it. I was so pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and our waiter was helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. All of the food was great too. We shared many apps and small plates, as well as each got different cocktails. Everyone was so happy with the food, drinks, and service. We will definitely be coming back for more!

We recently had the opportunity to visit Union New American for dinner and had an amazing experience! Union is an upscale restaurant on Westshore that has quickly become a local favorite, personally in my top 5. Union offers a wide high end wine & spirit selection, unique cocktails and an eclectic American menu with global flare. As you can see we dabbled in a little bit of everything! No crumbs were left behind! All compliments to the chef, @chefjacob_rios

Union is a great spot for date night, girls night, or after work happy hour at the bar. Check this place, you won't be disappointed.

Had a birthday party here. They made everything magical including the flaming cake presentation!

I would recommend the upstairs bar area to any newcomers. More private and "VIP" feeling. Very cool.

They are set up for big events as well.

The food and drinks are great... but pricey. 3 oysters for $20 was a bit much.

Happy hour is excellent offering some drink selections at a good discount. Definitely get the espresso martini at happy hour.

Service was prompt and attentive. The upstairs bartenders were superb. The manager for our party and the server were both excellent.

It's on the verge of having the South Tampa snobby feel (Meat Market) but not quite yet so come while you can.

Creative cocktails, delicious food (including many gluten free options!), fantastic service in a hip, chill atmosphere. Veg sides of mushrooms & snap peas were amazing, as were mains of cod & snapper. Will be back, especially with clients & out of town visitors.
PS - Dress to impress

Had a celebratory happy hour with coworkers at Union as my first time there. Sitting at the bar was a great decision as we got great recommendations from the bartenders and they were very accommodating. Their happy hour was until 6pm and was a new addition to the restaurant from what I heard. Most items were under $10 including cocktails and sav blanc wine. Everything was top notch including the fries and burgers ! The Vibe Check was the best cocktail and had tropical vibes with good alcohol content. I plan to try the Singapore sunrise next time that is clarified with milk to make it clear, the bartender explained. Thanks Union for an amazing time and we will be back soon!

This was my first time visiting Union and it was a great visit. My friend and I had lunch. We initially were going to sit outside, but my friend has a sensitive nose and smelled the dog that was sitting nearby -- we ended up sitting inside near the window in the booths.

I love that they have such great seating options. Whether you're alone, with a group or on a date, they have the perfect seating.

There was live music and he sounded amazing and it wasn't too loud at all. It literally sounded like it was the radio playing over the loud speaker.

The food -- the MILK BREAD!! I would come here for the milk bread alone, it was the perfect loaf of bread and butter. We ordered some to go and it was just as good once we got it home and heated up. I ordered the Chicken sandwich (I didn't care for the pickles, had a weird taste) and my friend ordered the bbq salmon (I think) and she really enjoyed it.

I did NOT care for the chocolate cookies (which were recommended to us twice) but they were not good (to me). They are really big and sharable, so two ppl can more than enjoy it together. It comes with milk and the milk was good lol.

The drinks! VERY GOOD! I ordered a lemon drop martini, sugar rim and my friend order Prosecco and a French 75. It was all delicious.

The service was really good, enjoyed everyone. They do NOT have a happy hour (we asked), but if they did, it would top this place off.

When we were leaving, I noticed they had a rooftop situation. so when I go back, we will be sitting in the rooftop area for sure. I would definitely recommend this place.

Wow! Union was incredible! While it's not in an area I go often I was impressed! We got the shrimp, a tuna roll, the sword fish skewers and bread. All of which were amazing!! The sword fish was so good we ordered a second plate. The service was perfect! Our waiter was fantastic! And all of the management stopped over at our table to check in. I would recommend Union to anyone looking for great food, drinks and service.
