Pretty packed on a Saturday evening, we were seated all the way in the back corner. Service was a little slow, but again, it was packed. It was a little loud, with the music and people. But to be expected.
My daughter loves cheesecake so u wasn't surprised. She did want one of the crepe cakes but the flavor she wanted was no longer offered.
My sister said she had never had a crepe cake before, and she said she'll never have cake any other way now.
I was kind of full from dinner. And had no business ordering a whole waffle to myself. I did it anyway, and ate the entire thing. Do i regret it? No. Well, maybe. I was in so much pain from being so full, but it was just so incredibly delicious I couldn't stop eating it.
Next time I'll skip dinner and just eat that. 100/10 recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Supppper yummy!!! My favorite was the infamous UBE BISCOFF BINGSU but of course!!!! It's nice and light! The size I thought it was going to be overly filling and the sides (condensed milk and Boba) were going to make it too sweet, but it all came together perfectly!!!! Highly recommend it.
We also got the YOUNG COCONUT PANDAN CREPE CAKE (Slice) and it was good but I wasn't sold on the texture of the coconut sauce. It's hard to put a finger on it, but regardless it was still tasty.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

For years, this dessert spot has been my reliable choice whenever I visit the city, and it's a go-to whenever friends or family come to the Bay Area. Its consistent excellence never fails to impress, with the food always being incredible. (Pandan crepe cake is my favorite!)
During my last visit, however, an unfortunate incident occurred when I was pricked by a dirty needle in their restroom. Thankfully, I promptly sought medical attention, and although the hospital bill amounted to $700 (which I didn't have) even with my insurance, the staff at U:Dessert went above and beyond to assist, covering the rest of the cost of my medical bill. Their kindness and sincerity in addressing the situation were truly commendable.
What could have been a distressing ordeal was transformed into a remarkable experience thanks to the staff's compassion and support. Despite the potential severity of the situation, they managed to turn it into a positive encounter. I am incredibly grateful for their generosity and understanding.
P.S. I came back to give them proof of the medical bill and was given a free drink as well!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you so much, Albert! We're very happy to hear how much you enjoy our cakes and bingsoos! Hopefully you'll get a chance to come visit us again soon!
Aug 21, 2021Previous reviewI LOVE this place. Anytime I am in SF I will stop here because the desserts are just amazing. My personal favorites are the matcha and pandan cakes- they are light but pack a powerful punch full of flavor. The bingsoo is also amazing! Ugh just mouth watering, you have to try it.

Came here again to grab dessert!
Honey brick toast (4/5): Very great dish to try. I definitely recommend for people who have a sweet tooth. The brick was super sweet, a bit for my liking. The vanilla bean ice cream was also refreshing.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Andrew. We're happy you finally joined us and enjoyed your visit so much. We hope you'll be back again someday. Thank you!
Nov 14, 2023Previous reviewFinally got a chance to visit this place after years of trying to come here. I tried to come about a year ago, but I was lucky to find parking right in front of the restaurant today. This place is famous for their IG worthy sweet desserts. Many of my friends have said that this place was overhyped, but my mind was blown away.
Thai tea lava toast (5/5): Thus toast comes with Thai tea sauce, Thai tea ice cream, fruits, whipped cream, and sweet toast. I really loved the sweetness in this dish and it comes in so many different flavors. I really enjoyed the diced sweet toast.
I will definitely be coming back here. - Apr 29, 20241 check-in
We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, the front of the store was full so we opted to sit in the back so we did not have to wait for a table.
We ordered two items:
Mango Sticky Rice Bingsu - the toasted coconut was a nice touch and the ice was fine. I appreciate this wasn't overly sweet with the condensed milk. The mango was not ripe and very fibrous which really affected the taste of the whole dish. The sticky rice was pandan flavored which was a nice touch but just put off to the side in a little dish. Almost unnecessary and could have been better plated. It was on the overcooked side which worked well with the soft bingsu.
Chocolate Truffle Cake: This is hands down the worst chocolate cake I've had. Probably worse than supermarket chocolate cake. It was dry and crumblely. It is dense but not luscious. The vanilla ice cream was better, could really taste the vanilla flavor.
I had high hopes for U:Dessert Story but they just did not deliver. The quality of the desserts is not there.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Ari, we are genuinely sorry to hear that we let you down during your recent visit. That's certainly not the type of comments we normally hear, nor the experience we want our guests to have. We'd love a second chance to impress you, and next time, please ask for a manager so we can see that you have a great dessert experience. Thank you for the opportunity.

You'll be OOH-ing and AAH-ing over the train of desserts coming out of the kitchen! U :Dessert Story excels in delivering gorgeous aesthetics in both food and decor. I just wish flavors were also up to par.
Best thing about the Mango Sticky Rice Bingsoo was the soft, ripe mango chunks. The sticky rice sat outside the bowl as a small side dish, like an afterthought.
Most of the flavor of the Thai Tea Crepe Cake came from that drooping sauce. Otherwise, sections without that sauce tasted bland. The Thai tea flavor could be better infused into the crepe cake layers.
Ideally, a strong matcha flavor would shine through the Matcha Latte, but it just tasted like a sweetened oat milk.
Our server was a bit slow and inattentive. Considering the steep prices, I think the service, proportions and depth of flavor could be improved. Otherwise, it just feels like I'm blowing money on aesthetics.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This place is definitely somewhere I'll be stopping by again. I usually go to oh desert but this place definely takes the cake!! The staff were friendly and the inside is adorable! We didn't have to wait too long for it to come out which is a plus. We hit it on a day where it wasn't too busy so I'm not sure what the usual traffic is like. I would reccomend sharing one thing because it comes in a huge portion.
