Needed a weekend away and decided to visit Bristol or as I call it the Austin of UK ! After looking around for a nice place to have dinner and wine I stumbled upon Tare. The menu looked enticing and location perfect for a relaxing evening.

It is located in a storage container around many other similar establishments. We had made reservations and were seated promptly. The staff is very friendly and went over everything in detail.

We ordered a bottle of dry English white, I have always wanted the English wine to impress me so I gave it another try and I have to stay it was quite unimpressive. Did not have much of a nose, too sweet at the initial contact and then the flavour was just lost to rest of my palate and tongue. I would recommend avoid the English dry option on the menu and pairing the dinner with something more on the lines of Chablis.

We ordered the vegan menu and the regular menu four course tasting. The appetisers were perfectly created. Great flavour, texture and aroma. All four of them quite good. The main course which consisted of chicken on the regular menu was disappointing and on the vegan menu didn't live up to the hype created by the appetisers. The flavour wasn't just there and seemed a little repetitive of the starters. The saffron custard was delicious and the sorbet was also very good.

Over all the appetisers were on point with 4.5 stars , the entree I would rate at 2-3 stars and the dessert at 4 stars. Service and the staff a solid 5 stars. Great ambience overall. For the price and everything considered this place gets a 3.5 overall !

Will I be back again ? Probably not. Was it worth a visit ? Definitely yes ! If they will work on their entree this place definitely has the potential.
