I should have looked at all the bad reviews before calling Summers'.
1. They were the only company to charge me for taking a look at my A/C unit.
2. The technician when quoting me a new system price started trying to sell, instead of consult. "If you act today, I can get you a deal" which was a red flag" and "There are only a few left".
3. Price quoted was 2k more for the same Lennox system than I paid from someone that was also a licensed dealer.
I hope this helps someone else .Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jeff F.Kirklin, IN02Jan 16, 2024
Had them come out to router a drain. $480 later job completed. Lasted for a week. Guy explains to me after the week that it really needed jetted and the auger probably wasn't going to last. About $120 more to jet it and do the job correctly. Why would they even offer the first solution that didn't work.
They did offer to come back out and jet it for the $600 didn't matter I already paid them for a job that didn't work.
NEVER USE AGAIN.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Geraldine F.SoMa, San Francisco, CA01Apr 26, 2023
Summers says to call them if you want to pay a lot, but that's a joke. When they get to your house, at which point you've been living with a difficult situation for some time, the technician tells you they charge a flat fee--it's not a small one, pressures you, and misleads you about how long it will take to do the repair. I paid something like $225 for 45 minutes of labor. False advertising! I called to complain and said if they charge a flat fee, they need to tell you when you make the appointment and specify what it is. The manager said they couldn't name a price until the tech looks at the situation. Obviously, that makes no sense if they charge a flat fee. BTW, the office staff who set up appointments are not informed of the flat fee policy "because that's not their job," according to the manager. What a way to run a business!

We have been using Summers for some years now and really appreciate how responsive and reliable they are every time something comes up. I can tell how hard their people work! Just recently we had really great service from Dustin Scheele. He was incredibly professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I especially appreciate how incredibly thorough he was about educating me on how to properly take care of our system.

Ridiculously expensive bordering on rip-off artists. I had a few faucets that needed some rubber gaskets. The cost was disgusting. I paid because I did not know what it should have cost and needed it fixed. I was also roped in to an expensive service fee. Buyers remorse doesn't even come close to the frustration I had when I spoke with another plumber and did some research and discovered I paid 4X what I should have.
They try to rope you into a service contract the first 5 minutes they are at your house. They offer you a discount on the service if you sign up. They try and give you bunch of exaggerated horror stories about certain things in your house breaking down any moment. I have a brand new water heater and was told that it was due for service. It's really an uncomfortable situation.
Lastly the plumber who showed up was crass and condescending. He treated me like I was stupid when I didn't sign up for the service plan. Sadly, I was stupid. I should have paid the ridiculous service fee and called another plumber. I would have saved hundreds of dollars.
My next stop is a posting to the BBB. Avoid.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin P.Carmel, IN433Apr 13, 2022
Avoid this company at all costs. Total Disaster. They installed everything in our house in 2018-since then it's been nothing but problems WITH EVERYTHING, PLUMBING AND HVAC. They've been out here 14 times, and my 15th service call was just booked this morning. This time for my water heater, which has magically stopped working (again). About 10 of these 15 service calls have been in regards to our furnace which has been extremely unreliable and goes out randomly in the dead of winter. Summers always comes out with a band aid, then, sure enough the same thing happens in a month or two. I'm done with this company, they haven't heard the last from me. Do yourself a favor and choose any company BUT Summers for your plumbing and HVAC needs.
15 service calls in 3 and a half years. And NOTHING has been replaced. They installed lemons in my house and don't seem to care enough to do anything about.
I was told today I'd have to wait 48 hours to speak with a manager. Unreal.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Justin J.Carmel, IN936498Jul 25, 2022
Utterly incompetant. Sleezeball plumber tried to tell me every single thing he looked at needed to be replaced with new stuff. He literally said he couldn't take apart a 6 year old faucet. If I didn't know anything about plumbing I would now be about $10,000 in the hole. The pricing quotes he had were about three times higher than the competition. Stay away from these lying plumbers.

When I lived in Indianapolis, I used Summers of Broad Ripple. I always had great service. So when I moved to Nobleville, I thought I'd give this franchise location a try. I live in Old Town, and the pipes are galvanized. I was looking for a quote to get my pipes updated. Had them scheduled to come out Wednesday July 6, and I was expecting a quote the next day, per the employee. Well the next day came and went. I called the office on Friday to get an update..still no luck. It's been 1.5 weeks and I have not heard anything back from them. Thankfully I had another company come out this past Wednesday and they are amazing. It's a lot of work, so maybe that's why I never heard back. But a call letting me know it is out of their scope would have been nice. Now due to this, I will be finding another company to do my annual maintenance on plumbing and HVAC.

Disappointing to say the least. I'm not a big fan of expensive refundable trip charges just to diagnose your problem, but basically keeps you on the hook to use them. If your technicians are good and your prices in line, this wouldn't be needed.
The repair we had should have been a simple one, but was not a standard off the shelf faucet. Asked the receptionist to insure they would send a tech out with experience with the specific model. They didn't. The guy struggled, and wouldn't look at the instruction book, which I offered multiple times. After his 3 attempt at installation, he announced it complete, and started filling out paperwork. Luckily I went in to check to see it was not installed correctly and not working.
I basically took over at that point, read through the manual with him and help him complete the job. Finally wrapped up after 8:30 pm.
Not really sure how much this is on the tech and more on the practices of the company in how they handle things. But I won't use them againHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

David, we certainly hate to see reviews like this. It sounds like this tech may need some more training. In looking through our schedule, we didn't see a call that aligned with your name in our service area of Hamilton County. Would like to get more info so that this does not happen moving forward. We will reach out by direct message for an address. Thanks!

Appt at 10, showed up at 8. Was in a hurry to get to "the lake." Said we had cracks in our heat exchanger and don't use or we will have a fire. Had another consult and not the case.
