I was passing by this place and I was glad that I tried them.
It was an absolute great Thai massage.
They do take care of you.
I got my appointment in the same day. I LOVE it. I am usually very picky about massage, so you should give it a try.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Colette W.Austin, TX01074Apr 6, 2024
Hands down the best place to get a massage in Bay Area. I get deep tissue and despite seeing multiple different people there, all the massages are A+++. Super fair prices too. Highly recommend!

Soooo good. I decided to treat myself to a massage. And I had forgotten what a restorative experience it can be. Sukhothai is a small clean peaceful oasis on Walnut off the main drag of downtown. My dad's age therapist was Sonny. He kept ask about pressure to assure I was getting the experience I wanted. He had divine magic hands. I was my first time but I am already looking forward to going back!

Came by for a traditional Thai massage the other day and it was a decent experience. Made an appointment and my therapist was ready at the scheduled time.
Requested a strong massage and got a medium massage. The therapist was skilled and wore a mask during the session.
Session started off with a hot towel, then moved on to medium pressure via shoulders, hand, and feet for the back, shoulder, arm, legs, and glutes.
There were numerous stretches during the session and definitely felt refreshed after the session, although previous visits were even better, more in line with Thai massages in Thailand.
$89/hour for a one hour Thai massage with an additional $20 recommended gratuity.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 1Nov 2, 2021Previous reviewCalled in for an appointment the other day and the Thai massage was a world class experience! Parking was available in front of the massage parlor.
The massage parlor seems to be on the street level of a condominium/apartment complex. The interior has 2 rooms, a bathroom, and a small lobby.
Moo was my therapist. After traveling to Thailand and expericing Thai massages a couple times a day, I definitely can tell a true Thai massage!
The massage was on a warmed massage table with sheets and blanket for warmth. There was a small box in the corner for my clothes.
Moo started off with a hot towel touching the pressure points before moving on to a warm up and then a detailed, strong massage hitting pressure points.
Unlike Western massages, the Thai massage hurt, in a good way, after the trigger points were hit! Moo did stretches throughout the session too and was extremely detailed!
$79 for a 1 hour Thai massage and they recommend a $20 gratuity. They take credit cards! - Yvonne L.San Francisco Peninsula, CA142108196Mar 11, 2023
I've come here twice now and both times had Sumi as my massage therapist, who is fantastic! Highly recommend! I workout a lot so I have to get massages regularly but since moving to Redwood City, it's been difficult to find a good deep tissue, sports massage. I told Sumi where I wanted to focus on and he was excellent at applying just the right pressure without being painful and finding the many knots I have in my muscles. I just wish I could schedule more time because 60 mins is never enough lol
Sukhothai Wellness Center is a VERY small shop about a block behind downtown San Carlos/Wheeler Plaza and is super easy to miss. There are two rooms, one for couples (2 beds) and one very small single room. The space itself is clean and relaxing.
The cost is very reasonable - more than what you'd pay at a foot massage/reflexology place but still cheaper than a high end massage spa. They do take credit card but you definitely want to tip your masseuse in cash!
All in all, highly recommend!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - 70313775Nov 15, 2022
These lovely healers are so sweet and friendly. Awesome Swedish & Thai combo massage!
They have been at this location for about 10 years. I didn't realize they were there. I accidentally stumbled upon their Yelp site when I was searching for another business. I'm thinking I know this location and I've seen it before, Yelpers know best!
I scheduled an hour Signature Massage via text which I grabbed the contact info off their website. It was exactly the type of massage that works best for my body. I felt so relaxed, like melted cheese afterward I didn't even know who I was it was that awesome! I had some stubborn knots in my shoulders and strain in my lower left side, after the massage I felt so much better. They pay close attention to your requests.
This small little wellness center offers a few Thai massages and they're open daily. The rooms are really nice and the tables are perfectly warmed, generous sized as well. Everything is very clean and smells good, too.
After your massage, they offer you water or hot tea and little cookies. Please tip generously as they are so deserving. I will definitely return!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Aug 6, 2022
Overall: great massage and experience!
Very easy to schedule. Came in today for the deep tissue massage. I showed up and was promptly brought to the room. The rooms are private and there is space to put clothes and belongings. Music is serene with warm lighting. Very peaceful lol.
I did not catch who my massage therapist was, but he was amazing! Very thorough and he checked in to see how the pressure was , what areas to focus on, and how I was doing. He definitely got out all of my knots ! I like also how they wipe you down with hot wet towel before the massage and again afterwards to take off the oils.
Everyone was very friendly and it was a nice gesture afterwards when they gave water/tea and a piece of chocolate. I will definitely re-visit!Helpful 8Thanks 1Love this 8Oh no 0 - Shiv. A.Belmont, CA116Nov 15, 2023
I decided to take a chance on the Wellness Center, and splurged on a hot stone massage. My therapist, Yaya, was AMAZING!!! It was relaxing, i felt some of my aches and pains go away, and it was worth every penny.
I will definitely be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tom C.San Diego, CA17Jul 9, 2023
Beware!
Not all therapists here know what they are doing!
I rarely need a massage, but when I did early July 2022, I went to Sukhothai Wellness Center based on proximity to my house in San Carlos.
It was easy enough to book an afternoon appointment over the phone. Overall, very few words were exchanged when I showed up for my appointment. I expressed that I wanted deep-tissue work, focused on my lower back and shoulders. The massuese, a woman whose name I never got, kindly nodded and left the room while I disrobed. A few minutes later, she returns and begins, and everything is fine. At some point, she climbs up on the table and begins to walk on my butt and back, applying heavy pressure, and still, everything is fine. However, then she (ironically) asks me if I have any knee issues/knee injuries, to which I respond, "Never." She makes her way down the back of my thighs, which is not uncommon, but she goes too far and steps on the back of my knees. I feel some stinging sensation, and signal that that is too much pressure. She gets off the table, finishes the massage with her hands and leaves the room. I don't immediately notice anything amiss as I dress, pay and walk the 3 blocks home. The next morning, my left knee is swollen to the size of volleyball! The swelling subsides after a few days, but leaves me with a limp. Only after 2-3 months could I return to my weekly basketball game, and only then in a diminished capacity. It has now been ~1yr since my only massage here and I still feel stiffness on the inside + back of my left knee, and I'd say I'm back to ~90% of the original mobility. Specifically stretching it out before exercising has become a necessity, and I ALWAYS experience significant swelling after my exercises, or even long walks.
Unfortunately, I never had a doctor look at it, or reproached Sukhothai Wellness Center in any way til this review, over a year after the fact. I'm a very active person who is always in good (sometimes great) physical shape. I've played basketball my entire life and NEVER had anything more serious than twisted ankles, so I find it ironic that my only serious injury comes from a massage. Just beware.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2
