State Farm has a lot of reviews and rates one star! Wow! I thought it was just a bad State Farm Agent that turned me off. I had State Farm for years and years insuring both my home and cars. They gave me a package deal. I had safe drivers discounts too.
At work I received a lot of training in money management. My employer wanted to be sure we had enough for retirement. So after having training about savings on car insurance I approached my agent to remove unnecessary coverage. It was at this time things got ugly. I ended up canceling my insurance and going with another company that was much easier on my wallet while still providing the coverage required by law. I wouldn't use them again unless they have changed their ways.

Horrible company. They refused to remove one of my children from my auto insurance, who no longer lives at home. Then, to make matters worse, they are about to cancel my insurance because we've:
A). Filed claims where our cars have been hit by others, and we bear no responsibility as determined by State Farm.
B). Used the company's roadside assistance, which is offered free. Yes, you've read that correctly. Instead of using AAA as I always do, State Farm urged me to use their service. Yet when I did, they used it against me. BEWARE.

Even worse, there is absolutely no way to get in touch with anyone at the corporate office.

DO NOT GET A POLICY WITH THESE THIEVES. "LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR"... GIVE ME A BREAK.

State Farm just petitioned the New Jersey State Insurance Commission for a cool across-the-board 25% increase in car insurance premiums. Fact is, similar increases are being requested across the country allegedly because of distracted driving and the costs associated with repairing high tech vehicles. Frankly, if they don't want to fix EV's they shouldn't insure them.

More to the point, under the cover of inflationary darkness, they think they now have pricing power and they're going to take it out for a test drive at the statehouse level.

Privately, I suspect Jake from State Farm has a very expensive side piece or is double-dipping on the company expense account. Not every pirate wears an eye patch, some wear khakis and a red sweater vest as they run you through with a cutlass.Time to kick State Farm to the curb. No stars.

Good luck actually finding and making contact with one of these unicorns. Sate Farm as a whole stinks and ranks right up there with the worst reps and zero customer service. All of my 4 agents so far an counting have each lied to me about my policy coverages and what they actually are since these reps in Sand Springs Bristow and OKC simply don't know what they are talking about or doing and should not be in business at all much less hold a license to do so.

I am just a recent transplant with a previous property and casually license for home and auto in another state. I pretty much have a clue how it all works just not the state laws yet as they apply to insurance policies and mandates. Clearly no help from the agents and never can get a contact from corporate that is competent or qualified to handle these kinds of problems so I usually am hung up on. I even tried finding a regional rep and they too are either a unicorn or one told me extinct. I just want proper coverage and clear communication is all.

Instead it is more like Lord of the Flies and a free for all for Oklahoma representation by its State Farm insurance agents. Plus the non existent corporate office that allegedly exists just not for customers as I have gotten no where with these dead beat losers. I left corporate insurance sales and became a private broker because these corporate goons are the real scam artists.

State Farm proves to be the epitome of disappointment and betrayal. Despite promptly settling my insurance premium upon notification of a lapse, I found myself in a dire situation mere hours later--engulfed in an accident. Yet, what does State Farm, with its so-called reputation as a "good neighbor," do? They abandon me without a second thought. Their adjuster, Julie Wisdom, embodies callousness, lacking not only empathy but also basic human decency.

In contrast, had I remained with Allstate, a company I entrusted for three decades, I would have undoubtedly found solace in their reliable hands. But alas, my move to North Carolina led me to the regrettable decision of switching to State Farm--a choice I now rue.

Let this scathing review serve as a beacon of warning to potential customers: beware of entrusting your hard-earned money to a company that forsakes you when you need them the most. State Farm's actions speak volumes about their integrity, or rather, the lack thereof. Save yourselves from the anguish and frustration I endured.

Well, for starters, it appears that only people who are ticked at State Farm post reviews... Or alternatively, State Farm aggravates a lot of Yelp reviewers.

I'm going to fall into the second group.

I have been with SF for, I'm guessing, 40 years. I have a large umbrella policy with them covering me for liability (I also have insurance on almost everything else I own with them.)

These guys send out letters claiming that your insurance is being canceled because of any number of reasons... they have not received proof that you paid for insurance on a vehicle that is with another agency, or they have not received a Five Year Loss Report on your boat... Letters are clearly sent from the home office in Bloomington Il. When you call them to fix the problem they simply say that they are not handling your umbrella policy and that it is handled locally. I asked why the letter came from the home office if that was the case... they insisted that I discuss the matter only with the local office... and transfer me to my local agent.

When I speak with the local office, I can tell that they are frustrated with the people in Bloomington. I get things like "They just send out these horrible letters and cause mass panic without telling anyone here what they are doing." "We are on top of the problem and will make certain that the home office doesn't cancel your policy."

It's not comforting that the home office is obviously not being truthful and they seem to have authority and even alacrity to cancel customers who have been with the company for decades. Let's start with a five rating and remove 1 for having no respect for customers, cut 1 for stretching the truth, cut 1 for horrible communications, and finally cut one more for not listening to customer problems on the phone... let's see, they get a rating of 1

I Will never use this company ever again!!! I traded my truck in for a new one, it took them 1 1/2 hours to get insurance transferred over the phone... (which never happened). I traded the truck in December of 2023 and they finally took it off in March of 2024... after many times going into the office and being lied to, sent me statements on the old truck, that went to the dealership auction and was on a buy here pay here a lot. I had enough of the BS I canceled my policy and went to a different company. it has been over a month trying to get my money back from them, they even prorated my policy on the truck I did not have. What a bunch of cheaters, liars, and thieves they are. Please do not use them! P.S. I saved $784.00 with a new company with the same coverage.

The corporate life forms at State Farm Insurance REFUSE to answer my simple question. Why do you donate Mi$$ions to unaccountable non-profits, political campaigns and special grant programs while relentlessly raising premiums? I had to file a case with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to even get in contact with them. They sent one BS response that had "NOTHING" to do with my question, that I refused to accept, so they told BBB they are no longer responding to me. (I have it in writing) I am a paying customer of theirs and they feel I don't deserve an answer but, BLM associates deserve to be rewarded with 100 Mi$$ion while they helped, pay 2 Bi$$ion dollars in damage claims, during the "Summer of Love" REWARDING those who caused Bi$$ions in damage that "State Farm and other Insurers" paid claims for is a CRIMINAL ACT.

Dave Larose State Farm in Ogdensburg cancelled my insurance policy without giving me notice. I had just switched banks. I had been with State Farm for decades. this is how they show they care for their customers. They cancel their policy with no notice. if they had notified me, it would have been a quick fix. but no, instead I received a notice from the DMV saying my vehicle was not insured. I have never experienced such lousy customer service and lack of communication in my life. I would like to file a complaint with the corporate office against Dave Larose. I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau. nobody should have to go through what I am thanks to Dave Larose State Farm. thanks a lot DaveLarose
