Q:
Are the soup dumpling freshly made in house?
A:
Yes, they are in house made. They come out fresh and just the right amount hot - not the tongue scalding hot as most places.

So my friend recommend potsticker house. Upon first glance I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say the food spoke for itself. We got a few dishes and every bite made me want to keep having more. My favorite dish of the night was the eggplant. And a close second was the shrimp. The service was okay. We have to remind our waitress what we needed a few times. I do have to say she was very friendly. The atmosphere or ambiance was okay. The booth we sat at was kind of dirty and the bottom of the light fixture had lot of stains in it. And the booth table was very tight. Overall, I will say give PH a shot as the food was worth every penny as you will walk out stuffed!

This place is a hidden gem in Bridgeport. I love the spicy beef noodle soup and the soup dumplings. I also like the pan-fried smoked pork cake. I've also had the sweet and sour beef and that was delicious.
I normally do not have to wait for a table and there's also free parking.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Monica S.Cicero, IL235125Jun 28, 2023
Very authentic cooking. The paper menu is a bit confusing, so I suggest hopping on Google and seeing some of the photos and the menu is easier to manage.
We came in an hour before close, so there was a bit of a rush to order. Server was nice, but short. The restaurant seems large enough to serve large groups. Not too loud, large open space, good seating. They also have their own parking lot, so no need to pay for street parking. Overall good location.
The food all came super hot. Definitely fresh. We ordered a variety of things to try. The dishes are all a good size.
*006- Pan fried onion cakes - these were good, but a large portion. Definitely for sharing.
*010- Pork soup dumplings - a little too doughy in my opinion. If they were slightly smaller with the same filling I think they would be more balanced.
*004- house special pot sticker - I really enjoyed the inside stuffing, but the outside was too much.
*604 - shredded pork with onion and soybean paste wrap - I really enjoyed this dish. Don't let the name fool you. I pointed it out on the menu and the server was able to tell me what it was. Nice and delicate, but still great flavor.
*116 - Shanghai Stir Fried noodle with pork mushrooms and bok choy - I enjoyed these. The mushrooms really brought a lot of flavor.
*31- fried dough condensed milk - I really liked this.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Aug 18, 2023
If I were rating just the food, it would be a 5/5. However, the table was very wobbly and the tap water had a small black dot in it. I'd imagine the hygiene is suspect, but the food was quite good. There's also a giant free parking lot next to the restaurant for the sole use of the restaurant which is super convenient.

Meh. I wasn't that impressed.
One night my sister ordered takeout via one Grubhub. We ordered Mongolian beef, egg rolls, shrimp friend rice and beef with pea pods and water chestnuts. The beef dish that was supposed to have water chestnuts didn't come with any chestnuts so it was just beef and pea pods.
The portion size was decent, but overall we weren't impressed with the food. The egg rolls were gross and the other dish were just okay. It wasn't very flavorful and we found it greasy. We'd ordered from this place once before and didn't care for the food then. We thought maybe it had been an off night so we decided to give it another shot. Turns out the food is just consistently bad.
Potsticker House is off the list for good this time.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 27, 2023
We ordered via Uber eats, and because it was a fair distance away the food arrived cold. The green beans and chicken were tasty, but the potstickers and bun left a lot to be desired. The smoked pork cakes and crab soup needing some tweaking in terms of flavor (smoked pork had a very chemically smoke flavor and crab soup had a strange consistency). Would likely not order again.

Dear Alesia
Thank you for choosing to order with Potsticker House We sincerely apologize for your poor experience.tonight, Choosing high quality food materials is our first goal, we don’t add any chemical products to our food. We make all our own dumplings and even noodles. Over smoked pork may smell strange.
Cold Chinese foods reduce a lot quality and flavor.
We’d like to invite you dine in at Potsticker House at your convenience, we hope you can give us another opportunity to serve you best northern Chinese foods
Sincerely
Ran Yu

Having lived in Chicago for the past 7 years, this is hands down my favorite spot for authentic and home-cooked Chinese food. The menu is a great balance of crowd favorites and more hard-to-find mainland dishes. I've never been dissapointed when I've sat down or ordered out. I'm struggling to find a picture to post because our plates are empty so quickly.
The service is speedy and the staff is kind. The restaurant is spacious and is perfect when sitting down with a friend or hosting a birthday dinner. Can't recommend this place any more!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Second visit here this past weekend and still nothing disappoints. Really fast service and all the food came out so quickly. Would truly recommend coming here. We tried their garlic eggplant this time and we all were in love with the dish. Really good atmosphere as well!

Their soup dumplings are so good and so fresh. We also ordered the scallion pancakes which were cooked to crispy perfection and took our waitresses advice in getting the roasted pork version too - do not pass on these! The roasted pork pancake was so cook, so crispy and the meat was so flavorful. We also ordered the prawns and garlic green beans - all cooked so fresh and so good! Would 100% recommend anyone to come for dinner. We also did BYOB. The restaurant also has their own parking lot right next door which made transportation even easier - who doesn't love free convenient parking? Can't wait to come back for more soup dumplings and to try other delicious menu items! Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

I love coming to Potsticker House for their crispy eggplant. I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food but this eggplant dish gets me every time. It is so delicious flavorful and has the perfect texture. I wasn't a huge fan of the scallion pancakes as they were a little bland and dry, but I am glad I got to try some different vegan Chinese food options. I did see on the menu how they have a lunch special and would like to come back to try that.

We ordered:
Pan Fried Smoked Pork Cake
XiaoLongBao
Northern style Pancake
Beef Noodle Soup
Stir Fried Egg Plant Beijing style
Shredded Pork with Bamboo Shoots
Mongolian Lamb
Whole Fish with Sweet and Sour Sauce
Chinese Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs
The Northern style savory pancakes/buns at this restaurant are must-get appetizers whenever I come here. Beef noodle soup's broth is flavorful and the noodles are handmade. Egg plant tastes really good because it's cooked a little crispy. Mongolian Lamb was good but I recommend the cumin lamb more. Shredded pork and bamboo shoot's sauce is delicious mixed with rice. I'd also recommend shredded pork and bean curd.
Probably the weakest dish was the salt and pepper pork ribs. Needs more seasoning.
Service was good. They have a their own free parking lot - huge bonus. I like to say Potsticker house is the safest Chinese restaurant in Chicago because it's across the street from a police station!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1
