    • Q:

What safety measures are in place for guests? Are keys required for the elevators during all hours or just at night?

      A:

Yes keys are required for the elevators. There is an entirely speedster entrance for the roof top bar And for the restaurant, separate from the hotel entrance. There is security outside at night.

This place looks a little sketchy when you walk in, but it's all happening on the second floor. During the day great work location decent food at night. It's kind of a hip DJ bar scene worth definitely good for the price.

Rooms are tiny, but well designed good great beds. Nice showers. Definitely a great spot for someone on a budget.

      1 check-in

I really loved this hotel. We were visiting from Westchester (a staycation) for a special event in NYC and knew we didn't want to drive home late, so we booked at the Moxy. The room was relatively cheap ($260) considering it was NYC. The rooms are SMALL but that will be the case with any NYC hotel unless you spend $600+. I will say that they made excellent use of space, with tables/chairs hanging on the wall as to not take up floor space. The decor is modern, sophisticated, and fun.

The hotel has a $30 food/beverage credit, so in the morning we popped down to Cafe Avignon for amazing croissants. I had the almond, and my husband had the ham and gruyere ($7.50 each). The drip coffee was free. Anything other than that (latte, cappuccino, etc) was not free, but we still had about $16 left on our credit that we could've used if we wanted. The cafe and its sitting area is also beautiful.

We spent some time on the rooftop bar which was really fun and whimsical. Cocktails were okay, not incredible, but you're really going for the vibe and atmosphere.

There's also a restaurant, bar, and barber shop on the lower levels. I would definitely return to Moxy in the future. All of the staff members we encountered were super friendly and kind.

Hi, I just got off the phone with Sharon from the back office of this wonderful establishment where she was so accommodating and I have to say that I haven't been treated like this from a customer service standpoint as I'm traveling and she's going above and beyond to attempt to accommodate meanybody that comes to New York should definitely stay at the Moxie and ask for Sharon M if she can make any magic happen. They're nice enough to basically get my name onto the front desk list as soon as a room is gonna be available so that I can get President. I have to say that's stellar service VIP thank you Sharon for going above and beyond..

The views are great. Love having the Empire State Building right there. I've been for brunch and for a night out. It's a fun spot. The pastries are good but the brunch food isn't that good otherwise. I tried the chicken sandwich and the eggs/bacon/potatoes. For the latter, I don't think they used any seasoning and the bacon wasn't fully cooked. I'd still to drinks (or pastries) when coming here.

We loved staying at the Moxy! Love the industrial chic decor. Eddie, the manager there, was super friendly, courteous, and helpful. He did us a solid, which we appreciated. Can't wait to go back!

Decent location, near MSG. Parking is directly next door but $80 a night and not affiliated with hotel. The checkin staff at hotel was very friendly and I was offered a credit in the form of a drink at the bar or room service. Apparently that is the Moxy way at checkin. My only complaint is the location of my room was right across staff elevator and that was annoying. The room I had was very similar to a single dorm room in college. If you are taller than 5'8" that bed could be too small for you as I am 5'5 and my feet almost touched the tv. The on site bar was nice in the sense they had many seating options but bartenders weren't very friendly and the drink was just ok. If I'm in a pinch like I was that night I could try a different Moxy for comparison.

The Moxy Staff were great. From checkin to dinning to housekeeping I thought the stay was wonderful. I had never stayed in this style or concept before and I was in town for my bday weekend in NYC, the hotel rooms were clean and the decor of the property was extremely trendy and had a great vibe. If you're on the fence about staying the pros are proximity to Times Square and Macys! It's an Uber away from anything else. It's a good choice if you are looking for a nice boutique feel place with good food and drinks.

Location was great. A minimalist but chic hotel offering guests just what they need while visiting a city.

We were able to check-in at noon right after arriving from a red-eye flight which was very much appreciated. Bottled waters are complimentary at the front desk so grab some on your way up to your room. We were told there was grab-n-go breakfast included every morning and coffee is served at the 2nd floor bar, none of which I was able to indulge in during my visit. What can I say? Being in the city means late nights, sleeping-in, and going straight to brunch.

The room was small but the placing of the furniture was well thought out with foldable stools and table hung up on the wall as an option to use or not. An entire wall of the room is lined with hooks and I absolutely love it. It's functional and space-saving.

The bed was very comfortable and I appreciate the blackout window shades for the mornings or daytime naps. The bathroom was also fun with the vanity sink placed outside making it effective if there's two of you sharing a room.

The 2nd floor bar has a nice lounge area and sharing the building with the hotel is another bar on the rooftop that seemed popular with the long line out on the sidewalk on weekends. We decided to stay at the bar for a drink as I feel too old to be standing in line out in the cold.

Our request for a late checkout was also accommodated so all in all, it was a really great stay and I wouldn't mind staying here again.

What a fun vibe this property has! I don't need a lot: clean bed, safe space, somewhere to get food and drink on property. Moxy NYC Times Square fit the bill and then some. I had a King Suite (Room 1511). There is no closet. There is no iron. But I don't need that. So I was a-ok. Staff at Reception was welcoming, helpful. Staff at Bar Moxy and Rooftop Bar were all wonderful.

I'll definitely stay again when I'm back in NYC.

Take a $50/night hotel, add some hipster lipstick, and you've got the MOXY
HVAC did not work - they promised it might work the following day, but we checked out
The website lies about large spacious rooms. They are tiny.
No closet, no drawers, only space available to open a suitcase is on the bed
      No Restaurant
      No bellman
They told us they served a full breakfast at the bar. This turned out to be instant oatmeal out of a cardboard carton that you add your own hot water to, a cold bagel and croissant for $23.
      Everything is inconvenient
