Middleton Heating & Sheet Metal

I have had excellent experiences with this company on several different occasions now. When they replaced our on demand water heater, the owner himself came out to do the initial consultation. The installer was efficient and creative in his work. Everyone made sure that we understood our new unit and were happy with it.

Just recently I needed a piece of sheet metal to make a custom cap for my roof. Again, I was really listened to and I received something much less complicate than I thought I would need. It was exactly what was needed and a much easier solution to my problem.

I think it's important to acknowledge the good people. Especially these days. Thanks to everyone at Middleton.

I don't remember ever writing a strongly negative review of any business or service provider - until now. Middleton Heating & Sheet Metal deserves zero stars for my last three years of experience with them. This year (2020) makes three years in a row that Middleton has not been able to fix our Lennox air conditioning system. We have gone without AC since 2017 even though we spent well over $3,500 on MIddleton charges since that time. Middleton repeatedly promised that the system will work just fine with this next repair, and the next repair, and so on. They even installed a new line from the heat pump to the interior system across my finished garage. It looks awful. They were looking for a refrigerant leak but they never found it.

Last week (June 2020), the owner came to the house and said the heat pump needs to be replaced since that is the only part of the system that hasn't been worked on. The new heat pump would cost almost $10,000. At this point, I didn't trust the company and the owner for their competence or honesty. I contacted another service provider.

The second HVAC provider found the leak within 45 minutes on the same day I called them. The leak was NOT in the heat pump after all; it was in the evaporator coil. As it turns out, Lennox lost a class action suit in 2016 specifically for its poorly manufactured evaporator coils. Middleton did not tell me about the class action law suit nor did the law suit seem to influence Middleton's servicing of my AC system. In effect, Middleton's owner wanted me to buy a new heat pump on his "hunch" that's where the leak would be. It wasn't there. Their technical skills are certainly not up to the competition's and their honesty is questionable.

Overall, Middleton Heating & Sheet Metal is a poorly managed company that doesn't seem to respect its customers. Middleton hasn't offered any compensation for the inconveniences (no AC, ugly piping running across a finished garage and many service visits) they caused us over the last three years. I will not do business with them again.

I just want to say what an amazing company this is. My air conditioning went out and I have my elderly parents living with me who needed it cooler. I spoke with the receptionist who put me in touch with Dale. He set up an appointment that day. I had the technicians out within an hour. They were polite and very professional and definitely knew their job. We had air conditioning in no time. I don't know what I would have done without them. This company is the best in town and know how to treat people well! I would definitely recommend them to all my friends and family.

I needed a gas fireplace put in at my house. I called Middleton and they scheduled me the next day. They called on the way out to let me know they were coming, and they were right on time. They did a great job. Very polite and professional. The fire place looks great and works great . I love having a fire on a cold winter night. Thanks so much I will be using you again, and I highly recommend you guys .

I just want to thank Dale for the great service .. he was there when I needed him for my furnace !! Prompt, professional, very knowledgeable!!! It is obvious that customer service is very important to him .. I recommend Middleton Heating to anyone that wants a job well done, at a fair price

These guys did great work for us. They were super professional and Darren is the sheet metal master. I have been very impressed with their work for all the jobs I've hired them for. They are quick with high quality. We recommend them for all your sheet metal and heating needs... cheers

In early 2008, I had the misfortune of hiring Middleton to replace a heat pump for a house that was (at the time) a rental. I have a written proposal from them that clearly states the pump has a 10 year warranty. However, when the unit broke down in 2014, Middleton refused to honor the warranty, saying that I had not sent in paperwork to the manufacturer. First, I was never told that I needed to send in paperwork; and second, Middleton never provided me any paperwork. They might have left something with the renter, which would have reflected incredibly poor judgment on their part.

Anyway, that repair cost me $946 (done by another company). Now, in April 2016, the compressor on the unit has stopped working and the entire heat pump will need to be replaced. I contacted Middleton again, and again they refused to honor the written warranty that they gave me in their proposal. This company does not stand behind what they promised me, and their misleading proposal is costing me thousands of dollars.

What great service! They sent a technician out the same morning I called. Bryan was professional, courteous and showed up on time. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem with our AC unit. He had the replacement part on hand and was able to fix it right away. He explained what he was doing along the way. The price seemed fair and reasonable. We will definitely use them again.

Four stars for Bryan. We had a problem with maintenance performed on our gas log set fireplaces. Bryan came back to re-do the work by the other technician and found that the pilot light also had to be replaced. He did very good work and was a pleasure to deal with - competent, thorough, and friendly. He took an extra effort to make sure we were satisfied with the work and operation of our equipment.

They don't follow up with phone calls and I had to beg for their business. Pretty unreliable.
