DELICATE SQUASH, Walnut Parsley Pesto, Sage

GRILLED SCALLOP, Walnuts, Yoghurt, Marjoram, Anchovy

      MAFALDINI, Pink Peppercorn, Parmigiano

      Bianchi
      【Zibibbo, Nino Barraco 2022 * Sicily】

Walked in and was seated around 4pm on a Friday and had quite possibly one of the best meals of my life.

The foccasia with green garlic butter was so delicious. Soft crunchy bread, crispy onions, and garlicky butter - I couldn't ask for more. We also got an artichoke heart which was citrusy, soft, lemony and overall delicious.

My friend and I split two pastas: the Mafaldini and the sheep's milk agnolotti which were mind blowingly delicious. The mafaldini was peppery and salty it was simple but good. The agnolotti is a must order! So sweet and creamy.

Now for dessert. You absolutely must must must order the Italian Job. Never have I ever had such amazing, high quality vanilla gelato topped with olive oil, sea salt, and a couple other seasonings I can't name. Though, this was the highlight of my dinner and dare I say one of the best desserts I've ever consumed in my existence. Please get this dessert and give olive oil gelato a try when you come here!

      1 check-in

Came here on a Sunday in a whim. They open at 4 pm for dinner, start taking reservations 28 days in advance and thought "no way" I would get in. At 3:30 pm the doors were open so I asked the hostess if there was a chance of getting a table for two. She was very accommodating and said she had a table if we were done by 5:45 pm which was fine.

Despite a few mixed reviews, most people love Lilia. We had a great experience and you can tell the staff is well trained, courteous, has the customer in mind and they are well staffed. Kudos to the owner.

Great ambience, nice vibe, awesome bar and seating, people were willing to sit outside, even though it was a little chilly. The restaurant provides blankets.

They put a nice spin on the dishes. They find a way to put a unique flavor. They are a little pricey, some dishes are a little on the small size, and I would have liked to see more variety on the menus for entrees. They are know for their pasta dishes.

I had a margarita which was good, although a little on the small side.

We started with the house made mozzarella on toasted garlic bread. It was very fresh and flavorful, you can taste all the seasoning.

We shared three mains, two were pastas. Loved the spaghetti, pine nuts and lemon reggiano. Also the fettuccine with lamb sausage, lemon passato and pecorino romano cheese.

We also had the grilled bass, salsa verde over coal roasted Yukon golden potatoes.

Couldn't pass up on desert. Had the lemon ice which was vanilla gelato, candied lemons, and lemon granita. Also had the apple crostata with honey and creme freiche.

We spoke to several repeat customers who were extremely happy. They also have a small cafe in the back of the restaurant with a separate door. They have a nice following. I would definitely recommend them.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to! Everything we ordered blew my mind. Been wanting to try this place for the longest time and finally had the chance to. It did not disappoint!

We went during the summer and dined outdoors. Perhaps this may have affected the service in comparison to dining indoors. Nothing bad to say but nothing exceptional to mention either.

Ambiance is nice and simple outdoors. No complaints. The food is where it's at.

      Try the Italian job gelato!

Inside a renovated East Williamsburg car body shop, dough pro Missy Robbins helms the open kitchen at Lilia. All the pastas on her pan-regional Italian menu are handmade and many showcase inventive twists on classic combinations, such as mafaldini with pink peppercorns and parmesan, and an extra aromatic take on Roman-style cacio e pepe fritelle (sweet fried doughnuts with cheese and pepper). Whole fish and juicy steaks come off a massive wood-fired grill and the all-Italian wine list is concise and focused.

I took forever to get to Lilia, and honestly considered if it was worth it given the mixed reviews. It sure seemed like the experience wasn't the same as a few years ago. With that in mind going into it, I think this spot is still worth the hype and does a very imaginative take on its dishes.

The service and ambiance for me were mixed. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was overwhelmingly kind and accomodating. Our waiter was very helpful with food allergies and attentive throughout the night. They objectively let us overstay at the table chatting. Yet, the crowd here still sways towards folks taking photos of every course and carefully inspecting the dishware. It therefore feels a bit less cozy.

The food was rather well done in my opinion. The absolutely musts: grilled prawns, focaccia, and olive oil cake. I'd come back every week for these shrimp. I can't express how good the sauce was. I read a ton of reviews about this bread and was skeptical - but they hold true. There really is something special about it. The olive oil cake dessert was simply well executed. It was moist and layered with simple but precise flavors.

Yet what should have been the stars of the night, the pastas, weren't anything too crazy in my opinion. I think generally people overestimate how good a bowl of pasta can be. And these WERE good bowls of pasta. Just nothing worth shouting from the rooftops. We tried the spaghetti lemon, agnolotti, and mafaldini. The agnolotti took the cake, it was rich and creamy. Second fave was the spaghetti but it didn't feel like anything special. The infamous mafaldini was sadly too peppery for me. If you like strong pepper, you'll enjoy.

I had an incredible dinner at Lilia. Firstly, the service was fantastic. Our waitress was very helpful with recommendations.

To start, we had the Cacio e Pepe frittelle, focaccia, and italian broccoli. All three dishes were great, but the Cacio e Pepe frittelle was my favorite.

For entrees, we shared the mafdini and gnocchi. Both were delicious. For dessert, we shared the Italian Job gelato, which was to die for.

I really enjoyed my dinner experience at Lilia and I look forward to returning.

I visited Lilia for a birthday dinner for my cousin and wow, what an experience! The servers, staff, and sommelier were fantastic. The restaurant was bigger than we all expected, with high ceilings, and a very industrial meets modern Italy vibe. We started with a great bottle of red, and our server offered non-alcoholic beverage options for our friend doing Dry January. I found that to be incredibly thoughtful and considerate in today's climate. Our friend ended up getting the lemonade and said it was delicious! We followed some of The Infatuation's recommendations and they did not disappoint. Our entire party was a group of foodies, so we chose to share everything, but you can easily order your own plates as well.

For appetizers, we enjoyed the Grilled Clams, Little Gem Salad, Focaccia, and Cacio e Pepe Frittelles. The salad was refreshing, but we all agreed it was a bit biting from the vinegar and while we enjoyed a few bites, we weren't sure if we'd be able to have an entire plate of it.

For dinner we had the malfadini (different and delicious from the pink peppercorn), Sheep's Milk Cheese Agnolotti (you MUST order this! By far the favorite pasta of the night), Rigatoni Diavola (enjoyable, but I'd have to be in the mood to order it again), and Fettucine with Lamb Sausage (tasty, but very gamey so make sure you like lamb if you're ordering it).

For dessert we were disappointed to find out the gelato machine was broken, so we'll have to go back to try again. We did have the olive oil cake though and it was light, moist, and flavorful.

It's no surprise you still can't get in here. Highly recommend for a great meal in Williamsburg!

It's now my favorite Italian restaurant in New York. The agnolotti was super delicious. The condition of the pasta was perfect, and the condiment and sauce were also perfect. I loved the combination of saffron and honey.
My second favorite was the dessert - Italian job. But last time I visited, I think they may accidentally put too much salt. Next time I am going to ask for no salt added.
Some dished I really enjoyed was the Grilled lamb leg steak and the grilled bass. They are cooked perfectly.
But I don't like the salad. The dressing was too sour.
And the service was nice as well.
