Leon & Son Wine and Spirits

This is a fantastic little wine shop. They have a great selection and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There's also a small selection of high quality liquors. Great place to grab a nice bottle of wine.

I felt unwelcomed here. Walked in and no one greeted me. There were two staff members behind the counter and one other customer.

I asked the free staff member for assistance with a chilled wine. He seemed annoyed that I asked but proceeded to help me, first asking for my price point (interesting) and then second for my sweetness preference. He showed me one bottle and I decided to go with that one. He checked me out and I left.

I didn't really get to look around (I was carrying groceries), but the store is small, nicely decorated, and appeared to have a decent selection of wine from various regions.

Not sure about price points overall, but I paid MORE THAN TWICE the average price point for the wine I purchased. I understand inflation but I wasn't expecting that difference in pricing.

This is the closest wine shop to my apt, but I'd rather go elsewhere and spend my money where I feel like I belong, with warmer staff members.

I was searching for one of my hard to find whiskey, which it happen they have it and at a very good price. So I placed an order to have it picked up so I can check out their store. They sent me a text to let me know my order is ready for pick up. Store is not that big, but they have good selection of wines. Some good selection of whiskey & bourbon at reasonable price. But I wish they have more selection of whiskey & bourbon. Overall, this is a good store with great price. I will be checking their website for the whiskey & bourbon that I want. Great store!!!

Nice folks with a limited selection. Their wine bottle organization leaves a lot to be desired, however.

What a wonderful store! They are one of the few wine stores in the USA carrying cases of specialty wines such the amazing Les Capriades Pet-Nat Pinot Methode Ancestrale 2018 I tasted at Bar Bete on Court Street last week. They were also able to recommend a few other like this gem that is simply amazing!!! They give 15%off on cases and offer free shipping g in NY and Brooklyn. They also ship to most states in the US. Aside from ordering online, Will definitely be going in person on my next trip into Brooklyn. Highly recommend!

not super into wine but one employee there totally made me feel welcome and educated me so much (shoutout alex)! employees like that are what will keep me coming back. can't wait to try a new bottle!

Excellent selection, excellent customer service. There's always people very aggressively asking for money out front, so waiting in line isn't my favorite thing in the world, but thankfully they have an excellent website and ordering online in advance makes things not just much more convenient but also much more quick, so the waits outside are short.

Placed an order for delivery through their website and was called shortly after with the information that one of the bottles was no longer in stock. Completely understandable, obviously, and they took questions on what I was looking for in a replacement and said that even if there was a difference of a few dollars on price point, they'd get me something great and curated.

Can't really ask more from a business, and I'm looking forward to trying my new ~special~ wine, along with the other three bottles that were my choice!

I've bought wine from here maybe three times now those three times were before COVID-19. The staff were pretty cold often found them offering to help people that walked into the store after I did. But what really turned me off them was ordering online during covid-19. They tell you that should you choose same day in-store pick up that you'll receive a text from them. I ordered at around 11 am and didn't receive anything from them. Called after 7PM just to check in and find out what happened, was met with a hostility on the phone and was somehow blamed for not getting a text message that they were supposed to send?

What could have been a simple "don't know how/why that happened, sorry." Turned into a "maybe you put your phone number in wrong or it went into your spam text inbox. The person then decided to remind me they were closing and that I should come tomorrow.

Definitely not worth it. Walk down to Olivino's on Clinton and Fulton, they have a better selection of wines and spirits and are wicked friendly.

When only 1 person is allowed in the store at a time, due to Covid, you'd think the 3 employees working would have more time to educate themselves about the products they carry... instead of just constant wine tasting. Don't get me wrong, I'd be all over those free samples, but when a simple question is asked to the staff and the response is, "I have no idea," that's embarrassing and obviously doesn't encourage future business.
