Kyoto Sushi

We arrived around 45mn before closing time and received very polite and helpful service. It feels family-owned and has a humbly decorated dine-in area. With patient help from the person taking our order, we decided on Golden Dragon, Spider Roll, and deep-fried Vegas rolls. O MY GOSH, SOOO DELICIOUS! Thank you for the tea and awesome sushi on our date night, Kyoto Sushi!

Had Kyoto Sushi for the first time today and wow, I'm upset that I haven't tried them out sooner! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Presentation was great too.

They were very nice and prepared our food pretty fast for only two people running the place.

Definitely my new go to!

Staff is always very nice. Place is normally empty and unassuming from outside but worth a visit if you are in the area.

I've tried a lot of sushi places in the area that are just okay or good but don't leave me wanting to come back and I can say I will definitely be ordering from here again. I ordered online for pickup and the food was ready right within the window that they said it would be. Pickup was easy and staff were friendly and they packaged the food up nicely as well. Most importantly though, the rolls were a good size, super tasty and reasonably priced.

Ordered take out here for the first time and it was such a horrible experience that I doubt I'll give them a second chance. Their tempura didn't come with tempura sauce. Their sunomono was dry and had zero vinegar on it so it was just sliced cucumbers.

The sushi I'll say was decent but not good or great.

Came here February 21st with Kerala and wanted to make a review apologies for late review.

So this place was fire I was introduced and recommended here by Kerala V and will say despite going separate ways the memories of this place the quality and service was something not easily forgotten Sushi was fresh and delicious and love the vibe and was very romantic classy and no hassle. I can't wait to come in again and enjoy another adventure trying something fresh and new from there very selective menu.

I have gotten this place Togo on numerous occasions. The quality has always been good so I thought let's try going in.

The restaurant is small, probsbly doesn't fit more than 30 people at a time. It wasn't too packed when we arrived so we thought oh this should be a quick bite. There was also 2 servers at the time. We ended up being there for almost 2 hours...

They definitely need to figure the logistics of serving. There was people who arrived after us who got their food and out the door before we even got all of dishes. We even addressed it with our waitress and instead of apologizing she stated well we are busy. This just left a bad taste in mouth. I suggest take out rather than going in and having a sit down meal.

I hardly write reviews, and was really excited to try this place based on the amazing reviews. We got here and they said they were out of sake. Which is fine, but we were definitely disappointed. Then, it took around 20 minutes for the server to come bring us water. When we tried to order he walked away and we waited another 20 minutes. We then decided we wanted the kyoto combo (I think it was called, the $50 combo). We were told they were "out." The combo consists of items that are on the menu. When we asked how they were "out" they said "it's too much work to make it." We were stunned.

We are sorely disappointed. And unfortunately we were really looking forward to this place. Will never come here again.

EDIT: to be fair, when we got our food it was the best sushi I've ever had. So if you go, just don't expect great service at all.

Sushi is always so fresh and delicious. Take out or eat in is made simple. Ordering and payment is always easy. Great atmosphere and quick service makes for my favorite sushi restaurant around by far!

Best sushi in Southern Portland very very comparable to high end places in Los Angeles if you're talking flavor palettes and presentation.
