Meal would be served at Ven Hong Choon Memorial Hall, Level 2, Dining Hall.
It was easy to find our table in the huge dining hall as the table had signage of the name of the person who reserved it on it. There were staffs around to assist us in finding the table. We were served hot ginger tea when seated.
We started the meal with vegetarian yusheng. It was a refreshing although it was a tab drier than the usual version.
Next we had the steamboat which was filled with assorted vegetables such as bean curd puff, dried bean curd, cabbage and taro in it. We also had plates of tofu, black fungus, glass noodle (Tang Hoon), wantons, mock meatballs, mock fishballs, mock crab meatballs, golden mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, xiao bai chai, and cai xin to add into the already full steamboat.
The soup base was very flavourful and light. It was made with juice left from the mushrooms and the shredded vegetables used in the yusheng, which was why the soup was naturally sweet.
The staffs around were helpful in clearing the excess cutlery and refilling the soup base. The food were more then enough for 8 adults. But if that was enough, there was porridge, mee sua and mee siam available too at the counter.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
