Johnson's Popcorn

Simply the best, as always.

I'm sad they closed their Wildwood location but of course still very happy that they happen to have 3 Ocean City locations. You would think hot popcorn would be a turn off on the beach, but somehow there's nothing better than a handful of warm caramel corn while on the boardwalk watching the sun set.

I hope they never leave OCNJ!!

So all week this place was poppin' at night! Like line and big bags of of over flowing popcorn everywhere. I knew I had to try it out.

Line was short when I arrived and I was able to watch them making the popcorn in large kettles in the back of the store front. I saw the popcorn being cooked, brown sugar being mixed and the smell was heavenly.

Service was quick and I ordered a medium cheddar and caramel Open (which just means the popcorn is overflowing out and in the bag)

The cheddar was on point a lovely velvet texture, salty, and just cheese bliss!

The caramel was sweet but a little more like toffee and less like caramel.

Is it tasty, yes. Is it a great snack to munch on while beaching, yes. But I've had better!

I am not a "popcorn person" at all. I occasionally have a bag of the microwave type. I also love white cheddar Smartfood, but rarely buy it.

But - I LOVE JOHNSON's Popcorn!!! It may have crack sprinkled in it, as it is highly addictive!

They give it to you with the lid off or on - your choice.

Walking along the boardwalk and eating popcorn or sitting on a bench watching the ocean while snacking on popcorn is my idea of a relaxing day.
We bought the butter flavored popcorn but the caramel popcorn is what they are known for. The butter flavored popcorn that we had tasted burnt. It's still edible and buttery so I'm not sure if that is just part of their flavor.
If you get something here, go for the caramel popcorn.

While on a walk on the boardwalk, came across Johnson's popcorn. Couldn't resist the urge to get the bucket I had been seeing during my childhood years. It is the best! I got the mix of cheese and caramel and enjoy ever kernel of it. I was not too impressed with the staff thou. They seemed very robotic and rushed, even when there was not much going on during a midday Tuesday in November. However, I can say, you need to try this popcorn when around the boardwalk.

Strolling through my yelp reviews and apparently I have been obsessed with this popcorn since 2010. It's still amazing, and we get it at least once a year when we visit!

Glorious popcorn stand in Ocean City!

Hands down sexy and sly. When you come to this little popcorn joint it brings you back to the days: back to when you were a kid, hustling dead end jobs, saving coin - just to blow it all again on the South New Jersey boardwalks on ice, booze, hot dogs, candy, video games, beaches and girls!

Johnson's Popcorn is a medium sized store front on the Ocean City shore, squeezed between 2 other businesses that seem to change hands.

They have all sorts of popcorn flavors, tourist inspired mementos, colorful kitchen popcorn gadgets, drinks and take-me-home collectibles..

All around an above average popcorn and snack shop that is worth scouring out and stopping into.

No places to sit. But hey, you pick it to go or to make it at home for sports or a date night.

I bring my bucket every year and refill it at least twice in one week we love this popcorn This time no plastic bag was given for the open refill This is a food service bag like a produce bag Murphy banned single use shopping bags ?? So on the second time I brought the plastic bag back that I kept the container in which was a Johnson's popcorn bag and she took the container out of the bag and filled it leaving the bag on the counter Which now makes me question the
reason for "no plastic bag" I think its that extra scoop they are cutting back on like most manufactures cutting back on ounces Although I would like to blame Murphy for this one which he is to blame part way but sadly I think they are cutting back like most business are doing
Being at the shore and keeping the container in the plastic bag keeps it fresher for longer ‍

A must visit when you are at the boardwalk.

My favorite s Chicago style, which is a mix of cheddar and caramel. Perfect combination of sweet and salty. Very addicting. The caramel is not super sweet

They will ask if you want it close or open. Open gives you more because the popcorn overflows your bucket and it's in a plastic bag.

It's cheaper when you bring your own bucket.

Johnson's Popcorn is a long-standing staple that locals all over flock to in order to enjoy year-round. You can honestly smell their popcorn being freshly made once you step on to the boardwalk and it's quite magical. Like so many others, Johnson's popcorn is a staple during the holiday season and makes great gifts for your friends and family (and let's be honest, for yourself). Anytime you're in the area, it's definitely worth taking the time to visit and grab a refill or bucket instead of ordering online (just my opinion). Even if you're not local, you can order online and get it delivered!

They have many different flavors ranging from their signature caramel, butter, cheddar, salty and sandy, peanut crunch, chocolate drizzle, and platinum. They come in sturdy buckets of either large or small and you can even get larger or smaller sizes in tins! If you order them in person, you can ask for your buckets to be served "open" so you get a bunch of extra popcorn to boot!

This is definitely a spot that I would highly recommend coming to snag a little treat for yourself or your whole family. 15/10
