Upscale casual place with a French southern med menu. Service was good without stuffy as servers wore white button up shirts but not in a traditional Michelin star way. They were willing to charge my phone enough so could order an Uber to get back to hotel. We were not hungry so got two appetizers, side and a desert which was enough for 2. Extensive wine list.

Meh... I made reservations for dinner at 7:30. When I arrived, the waiter didn't greet me for 10 minutes and went on to greet and take orders from patrons that arrived after me. When I was deemed worthy enough to order, they ran out of my appetizer of choice, out of only 4 options for solo diners, and ran out of my entree of choice, out of only 4 options for solo diners.
I did get to order a glass of Grenache, which they couldn't really mess up, which probably explains why it was delightful.
The bar stool I was sat on was definitely wobbly and unbalanced. I had a great view of the chefs and cooks preparing food for other patrons. I just wish I was able to order and eat food I like. I left after the glass of wine.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Full Girls Dont Cry B.Far North Dallas, Dallas, TX139138Mar 18, 2022
We had a really great experience here tonight! Although it was a little tough to get our orders through in English, Morgan came to the rescue! The service was good and the food was awesome.

Beautiful space.
Fantastic staff.
And the food was just perfect.
Sitting at the bar and discussing with the chef while watching the magic happen made for a memorable evening.
I went for the appetizer "du jour" (seared foie gras) - perfectly cooked. Got a taste of their "paté en croute". Definitely the best I ever had. Opted for the octopus as a main: a simpler dish but nonetheless perfectly executed.
I usually reserve my 5-star review for 2- or 3- star michelin restaurant but Joia will be an exception. Looking forward to trying their Sunday brunch! And their bar space upstairs is gorgeous ... check it out as well!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 25, 2020
A little disappointed, not gonna lie. I came in the months after the opening and it was popping. The restaurant was loud and crowded. In my opinion, the food was overpriced for the product and portions. The wings for example were not closely as good as American wings one can find in the US (particularly in the South). The guacamole was probably the best thing along with the carrots, but then again the carrots were really drippy in oil. It was a fun atmosphere but would not go back for the price and the resonance. The wine selection is good. The waiters were not the most friendly. They seemed overwhelmed and didn't seem to be enjoying themselves.

JUST GO!
We had the best meal and delicious drinks and wine at this charming French restaurant. We felt like we were dining in Hèléne's house. Everything was spectacular ! We had the spicy sausages, guacamole, foie gras & charcuterie to start with a rum drink that was "heaven in a glass". We then ordered the most incredible succulent chicken, lamb & fresh-in-the-shell scallops. We finished this delicious meal with a Greek yoghurt desert that you have to order - it was perfection.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Richard H.Philadelphia, PA0123Jun 11, 2019
Happened upon this lovely restaurant on a quiet street by chance and found a delightful place to dine in Paris. With some help from google translate we enjoyed dishes like make your own guacamole to taste and octopus with hummus and pesto. The lamb was a magnificent dish and the chicken for two was tasty and a satisfying large portion.

We were swindled! Although the servers were quite friendly, and the meal and ambience were pleasant, the restaurant surprisingly cheated us out of 38 Euros. We are experienced travelers, but were nonetheless fooled by the menu which states that the dish is available only as a shared dish for two persons, but instead of listing the price as 76 Euros, which might scare off customers, they list the price as 38 Euros with "P.P" next to it (yes, no period after the second p). When we got the bill, the server explained that the P.P means "per person." We were somewhat outraged, and she apologized and admitted that the menu had fooled other customers. We also complained to the manager, and his explanation made no sense. He told us that the server should have explained what the real price was when we ordered it (but she didn't). A good meal was ruined, because we felt we had been defrauded. We wonder what other ways the restaurant is cheating its customers. Eat here at your own risk.
