The service of Korean waiters is the worst.
This is Korean restaurant. The price is cheap and the taste is ok. There is a problem with the waiter service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anastasia B.Santa Monica, CA88272Oct 27, 2016
Terrible terrible service! If this place existed in the US, it would go bankrupt very fast. We came there as a group of 6. Half of our orders included miso soup, but most of people were not aware if their dish included miso soup or not. They brought us three soups and put it to people that were closest to the waiters without asking anyone about our dishes. As a result, wrong people got those miso soups and ate them. Later on when we figure that out, we told the waters about it. They brought two additional miso soups and charged us for them! So, they made mistake and we had to pay for it! Yes, it is very cheap and doesn't really matter, but the fact itself is insane. Especially, they were literally greedy about water with some tofu! I still can't believe it.
The food generally is average. The restaurant is not really Japanese, so sushi are not Japanese there.
We will never come back there again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Antonio C.Sydney, Australia16298Jul 14, 2016
Walked past this little restaurant a few times and was attracted by how cosy it looked. It definitely is and provides for a relaxed evening.
However, we do like good Japanese, and can't say I was over the moon. It is good and won't leave you unsatisfied, service was attentive and had a good time.
But I'll keep looking for that awesome Japanese restaurant I am looking for!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Megan M.Sydney, Australia12178171Nov 6, 2011First to Review
Hikaru has a great spot in a closed off street within sight of King Street. It reminds me of an alleyway in Japan where there would be a little hole in the wall restaurant, and that's the vibe that you get when you come here.
You can sit outside under the trees, or inside in the smallish restaurant. There are the general sushi/sashimi/teriyaki/tempura favourites. It's reasonably priced and worth a try if you are a fan of Japanese food. More relaxed than the sushi train style place but the food is not as good as Asakusa up the road. But, you can sit outside, which is pleasant on a warm evening.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alice C.Sydney, Australia958156Dec 13, 2014
We enjoyed a peaceful lunch in this tuck away Japanese restaurant. We ordered teriyaki beef and curry chicken with rice. Both portions are very generous, and were delicious. But one star was taken away for serving the salad on the same rice plate.

Service wasn't good. Salmon was fatty with chewy hard bits. Would not eat here again.

Nice little restaurant tucked away behind King street that's laid back. The ikura is the best I've had so far in Sydney and a much higher quality than other nearby places. You can taste it from the miso to the green tea ice cream desert. Don't expect to get out of this place quickly though; while staff is courteously and acurate with orders but they are slow.

Terrible service, being extremely slow. Staff does not even give you any reason for the delay. Really bad experience.

Food is consistently lovely at very reasonable prices. I cant work out if the service is so bad because it is so busy, or if it is staffed with lackluster waitstaff - I've been coming here for many years, and so long as you are bold enough to speak up when you require assistance or are worries about your order, the service is absolutely manageable.

Best Japanese in the area. Low prices for the quality of food. Service can be a bit sketchy, but did I mention the food...!
