This is a super cool place to grab a bite to eat or drink!
The food and coffee were yummy! I got the grilled cheese and tomato soup and it was good. They have beer here too! And I was a fan of all the cheeses they have to sell! Friendly staff and good vibes! I would come here again if I am in the area.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 2407616483Nov 11, 2018
This place is so underwhelming. I am not a hipster but this place is hipster. Their menu is on the pricey side. About $15 for their sandwiches and salads which I don't mind paying if the food is good. I've been a couple of times and both times, my food was not good. The last time, I had the Curry Chicken Sandwich. It sounded good on the menu but was not tasty at all. Some of the chicken chunks were tough and gristly which is never good.
The restaurant was packed on a Friday night. We waited in a line to order that was almost out the door. Stupid.
The place was full of adults drinking with their small children in tow. Yes, it's one of those places.
It's also really loud inside so we had to move outside to actually have a conversation.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 26, 2018
This is your new favorite lunch place en route to SAN airport.
Tucked away right off 15 it couldn't have a more perfect location for people coming and going to the airport... everything we tasted from the dessert case was heavenly, and I was absolutely envious of each sandwich that passed me by -- definitely coming back for food, beer, and pie!
What a great spot to hang out for business people, moms, and families going to the airport!
Also, shoutout to their pastry team cause the lemon bar and chocolate hazelnut bar were perfection. Their oversized macarons also have the perfect texture and filling ratio, and even have the little "feet" on them that show you they're baked properly. Not easy to do for a normal macaron let alone a massive one! Good stuff!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 6, 2017
I enjoyed a nice Sunday breakfast at this place that also harbors Mason's Coffee. I ordered the "Pigs on a Pillow" which was a cast iron baked pan cake, scrambled eggs, and three strips of house bacon. I also had a Cafe au Lait from Mason's.
The pancake came with some regular and a delicious cinnamon pumpkin butter. The pancake was very nice. I liked its moist fluffiness and that it had a good crispy edge. The single thick pancake tasted great too.
The bacon was most excellent. It had a great chew with some crispiness and best of was its great flavor. I liked that they did not hold back on the length of the strips.
The scrambled eggs were tasted good and were well seasoned, but they did need to be better scrambled. Plenty of whites were still quite visible.
The Pigs on a Pillow were about a $8 and not a bad deal for a filing tasty breakfast. Service was genuinely nice and very casual.Helpful 17Thanks 0Love this 16Oh no 0 - Sep 26, 2019
Really good beers on tap especially Landfill Sour and the Passport Passion Fruit Pineapple Cider. Food is served until 8pm.
Really sad to hear this location is closing by Sunday.
Rumor...friend of mine wants to purchase this wine/beer bar and re-open it to invigorate the nightlife of Rancho Bernardo. Keep your fingers crossed! I'm in full support of this.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 18, 2017
The beer list seems to change daily which I think is awesome. The only bad thing is finding a beer you like and it not being available the next time around.
They have amazing pizza's but you can't seem to make alterations to them. So far that hasn't been a problem since every pizza i have ordered has been amazing.
They do have a large selection of bottled brews in the store so if nothing on tap catches your eye, you have options.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Hannah J.San Diego, CA20176183Jun 28, 2019
An eccentric take on your typical deli. The interior was charming - big, rustic looking tables and a few different stations to order from, depending on what you want.
I ordered the pastrami sandwich. The bread was actually the best part - thick, chewy sourdough buttered to perfection. They added a sh** ton of meat, but who's a girl to complain?
My husband orders the meatball sub. It was alright, but I preferred my pastrami sandwich's
I want to come back and try something else because they had a lot of cool looking cakes and pies on display, as well as more options for lunch/dinner. My rating for now is 4/5 just because I feel like I need to give it another shot to possibly bump it up to a 5.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jun 11, 2017
I've had this place bookmarked almost 4 years ago and finally decided to try it! It did not disappoint!!!
I came with my friend for lunch and we got a beer flight and I got the Monger's Grilled Cheese and added chicken. The cider on the flight was absolutely delicious and the others were good as well. The Monger's Grilled Cheese was delicious! It had the perfect crispy bread and the cheese pull was amazing. The chicken was a nice touch and I'd definitely recommend adding it onto the sandwich. The onion on it is also a nice cut to all the cheesiness. I'm excited to come back and try their other menu items!
This place also has a whole area on the side I did not get a chance to look at, I think a coffee area. They also have a huge huge huge selection of beers from all over and they have a ton from California and San Diego. The service was great and I loved the interior. I'll be back soon!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 3006142207May 5, 2017
Please someone explain to me why this place is popular? Lunch? Variety? Beer? Hipster vibe? I guess i'm missing something. Perhaps their focus is more on catering..?
I'm basing my opinion on two trips i made here for lunch.
Sandwiches - everything is $10 and up. Very basic sandwiches. My smoked turkey sandwich had 2 ingredients: cheese and meet. It was $13 bucks. To add salad or soup is extra. I didn't see that any of their sandwiches have any veggies or fresh greens.
I just don't see the appeal...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 2, 2017
Super cool place coz the cool gals that work the counter. I like how there is a sign that explains the process of what to do laid out like a map. Brilliant! Meats, and a great variety of cheeses. We got to sample some freshly shaved cheese from a newly cracked open wheel of deliciousness. These women here rock my cheese world. They even have honey sold in the honeycomb and honey from the Big Island of Hawaii. Shout out to my island state. Yay! There are bottles of booze from left to right and seating for you to enjoy whatever you purchase. Try it all. Great place if you are feeling adventerous.
