I highly recommend Boston Dog Butler, especially trainer Elkhan. He goes above and beyond for his clients during each training session. Being a first time dog owner I was lost and overwhelmed on how to train my puppy. Elkhan has truly made the puppy process a lot easier and has helped Mila progress so much the last couple of months.

I use Boston Dog Butlers for a number of services and have been thrilled with Rocky's care. However, I'd like to call out specifically Elkhan. Rocky stayed with Elkhan and his family multiple times, but most recently for a week while I was on a business trip. I received pictures and videos every day with very thorough reviews. He received a ton of exercise and got lots of play time with other dogs and Elkhan's family too. I came home to a very happy (and clean) puppy...and I can't forget extremely well trained. I guess the only downside is that I'm a little worried that Rocky loves Elkhan more than me! :)
If you travel and suffer from that guilt of leaving your dog, look no farther.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 26, 2023
Love, love, love Boston Dog Butlers!!!! This is my absolute favorite "doggy daycare" I've ever been apart of (I've been a member of 6 because I travel for work). I have been using them for about 7 months now, and couldn't be happier.
They have several options for "doggy daycare", which include park play (play at the dog park), hiking field trips (off-leash hiking with your dog), and dog walks. They also offer several boarding options, grooming, and training. I have used both boarding options- where someone stays at my apartment with her, and where she stays at someone else's apartment with them. Usually it is an employee that your animal is familiar with (someone your dog sees weekly). Both options have been GREAT, I really love that they spend all day with your dog, and you get an individualized (long) report each night. It's really calmed my nerves whenever I have to go out of town because I know Baja is really taken care of.
I have my dog scheduled for 2 park plays during the week, and 2 hiking trips during the week. The company comes into my building (and apartment)to pick her up, and drops her back off when they are done for the day. I find the prices to be quite reasonable, for the amount of time and the amount of effort and activities they complete with your dog. I really love the hiking trips, they have reinforced recall with my dog (now she listens to everyone, not just me). She gets to play in the snow in the winter, and in the water in the summer!! When they are done for the day, they refill the water bowl and wipe their paws, remove jackets, etc.
They are quite flexible, they are always willing to change my schedule week to week (early walks to afternoon walks, or add/subtract days), if need be. The employees are all very friendly, all have my personal number, and are all ways available to help. I love the fact I get a report each and every day, on activities completed, with pictures! The app makes it super easy to get all your updates (and they're emailed to you), and see all your invoices/payments.
What has really made this company stand out to me is everyone really cares. I feel like the company has become our family, and they all genuinely care about and look after the dogs. Baja loves all of her caretakers, especially Eddie, Brittany, and Tom. They've made the difference in her every day routine (I think she would prefer me to work more than 4 days a week now!) Really can't say enough great things about the company, and would suggest them to anyone and everyone with an animal!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Lauren P.Elkhorn, Elkhorn, NE05Dec 18, 2023
Highly recommend Boston Dog Butlers overall. Pete - the owner - is really responsive and thoughtful and will always go the extra mile to make sure your dog is taken care of. Every team member who has taken my dog for a walk or a to a dog park or on a hike has been friendly, great with dogs, sent loads of photos and feedback, and just generally wonderful. The dog sitting care is top-notch - you know your dog is getting personalized care and attention at somebody's home (shout out to Brittany and Eddie who housed my small monster for multiple days to her joy).
I cannot recommend James as a trainer highly enough. He has an impressive blend of theory and practice that makes it so much easier to understand the "why" behind the "what." He helps you understand the levers and reasons behind your dog's reactions, which allows you as their owner to operate independently. He gives you the tools to do more than just parrot what he tells you - he helps you understand the bigger picture so you can continue to bring your dog along between training sessions, and links to videos and useful tools/toys that might help. Plus, the sessions are always fun and he meets you wherever works for you - in a park if you are working on recall or at your home if you are working on reactiveness to doorbells.
Also shout out to Jamie who saved my life one day - when they were closed - when my dog managed to roll in horrible, horrible, horrible poo and she gave her a bath (x3 because it was so ground in to her fur) during inventory day out of the kindness of her heart.
Thank you everybody!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - James w.New Bedford, MA031Dec 14, 2023
Had a fantastic experience Boston dog butlers. I had the pleasure of Jen M as my dogs trainer. Max was so annoying before could never leave him off leash without him bothering every dog and person and on leash he always trying to pull. Max also was such a food glutton. After a few sessions there was definitely some improvements. Leash training was so much better and after a few more sessions the off leash was starting to improve as well I was so happy. Now that he's graduated I feel like I can really trust him.

Love Boston Dog Butlers!! I've taken my Samoyed here 3 times now and they've always done a great job (and grooming a Samoyed is no small feat)! Today Reagan groomed my dog and she did such a great job trimming and she was so accommodating when I was late to pick my dog up. It usually takes 4-5 hours and they text you 30 minutes before your dog is ready. Would definitely recommend them! I always call to make appointments because they usually have some slots that open from cancellations.

I have nothing but good things to say about Boston Dog Butlers. My dog Cooper is quite anxious and shy and doesn't always do well around new people, especially coming into the home for walks when I am at work. James was able to offer training to help build up his confidence and trust, and then eventually Cooper started working with Elkhan as a second trainer/walker. Elkhan went above and beyond to accommodate my work schedule, including helping me out on 2 different winter holidays because I had to work. I can't thank them enough for the support and training they provided.

My dog came home with a big cut down her stomach. No warning from the groomer or admission that she had done anything. Wouldn't recommend

I had a terrible experience with Boston Dog Butler. Firstly, my appointment was scheduled for 11:30 am, but my dog wasn't groomed until I called them at 3 pm, causing a delay of four hours. Secondly, instead of giving my dog the requested short-style grooming, they completely shaved him. I could have done a better job myself, especially since they charged me $120 for less than half an hour. Thirdly, my girlfriend picked up our dog and noticed he was depressed, which is unusual for him. Lastly, he was sniffling and coughing when my girlfriend tried to pick him up, and the front desk ignored her when she asked about it. We've been going to this place for over a year, but this was by far the worst experience we've had. I will not be recommending Boston Dog Butler to anyone and will probably not be returning unless they apologize for their poor service and behavior.

James has been a miracle worker for our dog. We have an 80 lbs German shepherd/ Great Pyrenees who is friendly and playful but was struggling with
1. Being territorial in our home when we had guests
2. Jumping on people when he got excited
3. Pulling on walks and dragging me to the dog park every chance he gets
James did a great job of building rapport with our dog (who can get scared of strangers) and teaching us as well as the doggo. James was always a great communicator and flexible.
After a few short weeks James taught us how to get our dog to use the doorbell as a cue to go to his mat so he doesn't bark excessively and figure out how to introduce new people.
Our walks involve lots of doggo eye contact and a loose leash!
We are better dog parents and our dog is much better behaved after working with James!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
