wow!! this has got to be one of the most affordable course dinners in the city. from the ambiance to the interior decor and service, everything was amazing and i can't wait to visit again once the menu changes with the season.

my partner and i were seated by the door so we had some lovely natural lighting coming through. in an attempt to try as much as possible, we got different third and fourth courses -- mine were made non-dairy to accommodate my lactose-intolerance (thank you to our waiter David for detailing which dishes could/couldn't be adjusted).

highlights that we both agreed on -- the spring forward and our respective main (fourth) courses were delicious! because of how unique the spring forward dessert sounded, we both opted to get the same (mine was made vegan) and neither of us had regrets. the contrasting textures of every element along with the hot/cod effect was *chef's kiss* ... if only we could have ordered another serving of it. the berkshire pork collar was tender -- think pulled pork but still maintaining some structural integrity. the seared black cod was cooked perfectly -- flakey, moist on the inside, and the skin had a lovely crisp.

both the english pea cappelletti and phytoplankton risotto (third course) had unique and very interesting flavor profiles. the sauce with the cappelletti had a smokey, almost bacon-like taste that was "hard to describe", according to my partner. the phytoplankton risotto (non-dairy version) was refreshing and very light -- the garnishes all added umami and bursts of rich flavor.

i would absolutely recommend 7 Adams for a nice dinner out!!

Had the 5-course dinner with a group of friends this evening. The food was overall excellent (see the photos). Each course was well crafted and well done. I especially liked the wagyu. Service was fantastic. Sat in the back; with the heat lamps, it was warm and cozy, and great for conversation.

      Will have to come back!

I came when they opened and was blown away but never got around to reviewing the new restaurant from Chefs David Fisher and Serena Chow Fisher of Marlena. I was so excited to come back and enjoy their new spring menu and it did not disappoint!

They offer a 5-course prix fixe with some fixed courses that everyone at the table enjoys, and some where you can select from a couple options. I am partial to their seafood, so I opted for the cod which was excellent. Everything is so perfectly balanced and you feel quite full after the mains, but the dessert is really a show stopper. I typically am not a dessert person, and the "spring forward" was probably the highlight!

Their back patio is adorable but we were seated inside. The mood is set with dim lighting and cute mushroom lights on each table. The service was fantastic and it's clear that it is something at the forefront of this restaurant's mind. I would love to sit at the chef's counter one of these days, but will just have to remember this experience until then!

Talk about the happiest mistake ever!

My friend told me about 7 Adam's after a fellow Elite recommend it during an event as "the place to go before it becomes the big thing". Dude, whoever you are - solid recommendation! He actually suggested the $85 5-course meal but me, thinking the chef's counter was just a cooler place to sit, booked the 10-course meal. Whoops! When I received notice that it would be $158 a few weeks later, my friend and I decided it would still be ok to continue.

We were sat promptly at 6:30pm and I loved how we really got a seat at the table to watch Chef David expertly prepare each dish in front of us. And man oh man was each dish almost better than the last! Sturgeon caviar mousse? A5 tartare? Charcoal heated live scallops? Iberico pork chop?! And it wasn't just all the fancy notes that carried the meal - one of my favorites of the night was a pea ravioli accompanied by the most unctuous ham hock broth!

The experience lasted 2.5 hours and was honestly heaven on earth. I would absolutely welcome a return experience! The meal was so dreamy and easily better than some of the other actual Michelin starred places I've been to! With tax, tip, and the health mandate, it was about $220 for the meal. There is also an option to have a wine pairing with the meal too, if you wish.

We were recommended 7 Adams by a fellow Yelp Elite, and we rushed to make a reservation. My friend made the booking and accidentally put us at the chef's table. Best mistake ever!

At the 6-person chef's table, we were treated to 10 amazing courses and a fabulous view of our plates being prepared.

Every bite was delightful. I love asparagus and enjoyed the refreshing dishes. If I had to pick a favorite dish, which is very difficult, it would be the scallops that were seared in front of our eyes with charcoal. My least favorite was the black sesame layer in the ice cream sandwich, but that's because I'm allergic to peanuts and black sesame reminds me to peanuts. Even then, I loved the ice cream sandwich so much I can overlook the black sesame; the light cake, lavender ice cream, and lemon curd overshadowed my dislike of black sesame.

Speaking of which, there were no peanuts in anything I ate, as they took note of my peanut allergy with the reservation and when we sat down.

I would love to come back. Already recommending 7 Adams to all my friends.

Absolutely phenomenal for its price, def get in before it gets its Michelin star while there's still some availability for reservations.

Really good value (~$100 per person) for consistently excellent execution of a multicourse california cuisine setup. Service is great and I especially appreciate that they sold us half-glasses of wine -- I'm one of those Asians that can't break down alcohol well, but love the complexity of the taste and pairing with the food... so I was able to bootstrap my own wine pairings with reduced alcohol wastage.

Def adding this to my SF rotation going forward!

TL;DR: Worth the visit, unique flavor profiles and pairings! Exceptional service.

I celebrated my anniversary here and they did not disappoint! As soon as we got seated, there was a note to acknowledge our anniversary and it was a warm welcome!

As someone who is indecisive, I enjoyed the structure of the menu, first two dishes were included while you had options to choose from for the next three courses. We had complementary Japanese milk bread to start and it was probably the best bread I've ever had! The cultured butter and warm bread make such a cravable combo!

The second dishes were light and refreshing! The cured hiramasa had the perfect touch of spice from the Fresno vinaigrette and the Asian pear cut through ever so slightly making it a delicate pairing with the fish. The beet tartare has good texture with the horseradish foam and crunch from the pine nuts.

Second course, the celery root ravioli was different and had a light herbaceous note that made the dish not too heavy like other pasta dishes. We added the supplemental agnolotti and they did not skimp out in the truffles. We're not usually fans of truffle but it was not overpowering and complemented in flavor and texture.

Third course, we had all three dishes! Seared black cod and the A5 wagyu melted in your mouth, we didn't even need the knife to cut through. The sauces in both dishes cut through the fattiness and paired well with the decadent taste of both the fish and meat. The Sakura pork had a good chew and smokiness from the breakfast sausage was unexpected but made for a desirable pairing.

Fifth and final course, we opted to try both desserts! The profiles of both sweet dishes were different but worth the try. The spiced chocolate had subtle ginger notes while having a good crunch complemented by the meringue. Spring forward definitely gave the feeling of spring with light and airy flavors of nutty coconut and green herb granita!

All in all, I'd revisit to try out the revolving menus, the chefs really put time and thought in the courses and left me intrigued for what's coming up next. Service was kind, informative, and attentive. Our waters were always filled, dishes bussed, and table was marked all at appropriate times. Thank you again 7 Adam's team!

A Culinary Gem: 7 Adams Restaurant

If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in San Francisco, look no further than 7 Adams. This exquisite restaurant is helmed by former Michelin-star chefs and their talented crew, offering an unparalleled culinary journey that will leave you craving more.

From the moment you step inside, the vibrant vibe and elegant ambiance will captivate you. The service is top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff guiding you through the menu and ensuring your every need is met.

The highlight, of course, is the food. The $87 deal is an absolute steal for the quality and creativity of the dishes on offer. The harmonious blend of flavors, textures, and techniques showcases the chefs' mastery of their craft.

Standout dishes include the delectable truffle ravioli, a delicate balance of earthy truffle and creamy filling; the perfectly cooked risotto, a comforting yet elevated classic; the tender and flavorful ribeye, cooked to perfection; and the melt-in-your-mouth black cod, a true testament to the kitchen's skill. And let's not forget the amazing bread - it's so good you'll find yourself asking for seconds!

One of the standout aspects of our experience at 7 Adams was our exceptional server, Jason. Not only did he possess the charm and good looks of a Hollywood star, but his knowledge of the menu, wine pairings, and the culinary world, in general, was truly impressive. Jason's warmth and attentiveness made us feel right at home, and his genuine passion for the food and the restaurant was infectious. Unlike the often stoic servers found in high-end establishments, Jason was a breath of fresh air, making our dining experience all the more memorable. Kudos to 7 Adams for having such a fantastic team member who truly elevated our meal.

In conclusion, 7 Adams is a must-visit destination for food lovers and those seeking an extraordinary dining experience. With its exceptional cuisine, stellar service, and inviting atmosphere, this restaurant is a shining star in San Francisco's culinary scene. Don't miss out on the opportunity to indulge in the creations of these talented chefs - you won't be disappointed!

There are special meals that you will remember for a lifetime, my most recent meal that I enjoyed with a friend at 7 Adams is definitely one of those meals. Located on Sutter Street near San Francisco's Japantown and opening a mere six months ago, 7 Adams comes from husband-and-wife chefs David Fisher and Serena Chow Fisher, who previously made a splash running the kitchen and partnering at Marlena earning a Michelin star there almost instantly after opening. For this new concept, the Fisher's teamed up with the Hi Neighbor Hospitality Groups, a ownership group behind a number of popular restaurants in San Francisco, and came up with the concept of 7 Adams, which features a five-course seasonal tasting menu sold at a reasonable price point at 87 dollars per diner. Named after the street address of Chef Fisher's childhood home, the concept of elevated new American cuisine, and not unlike predecessor Marlena, they have already caught the eye of the Michelin Guide, being the only San Francisco addition to the California guide, and critics agree that they have high aspirations to achieve the same goal of another star in their future here at 7 Adams.

With all of the buzz surrounding 7 Adams, a friend and I made it our mission to dine here one evening, and the only day we could get was a reservation for two on a Monday evening via the Resy website. Dining on Monday was easier because they were never quite full with customers all evening long, which gave my friend and I time to enjoy our meal, experience the top-level service with every entrée, and take in the open-kitchen concept with some diners being able to enjoy their Chef's Counter experience. We came for their five course tasting menu, and our meal began with a fluffy milk bread starter, crafted by pastry chef Chow Fisher and what a soft and flavorful way to start a meal. Then diners receive the same first and second courses, and then are allowed three options for their third and fourth courses, with one of those options coming at an additional cost, and for the fifth course we select our dessert from two options. To begin our meal we enjoyed their Cured Hiramasa, which served on an Asian pear, and on a bed of Fresno-Yuzu kosho vinaigrette and a yogurt mousse. For our second course, we enjoyed their Beet Tartare which was topped with pine nuts, horseradish, and a buttermilk foam. For our third course, I order their English Pea Cappelletti which was served with an allium brodo, green garlic and a parmesan frico, while my friend ordered their Phytoplankton Risotto which was topped with yellowfoot chanterelle, red dulse seaweed and bottarga. For our main course, I ordered their Sakura Pork Collar which was served with a breakfast sausage, cheddar grits and broccoli spigarello, while my friend ordered their Seared Black Cod which was topped with confit sunchoke, smoked trout roe, and clam butter, and during this course we each received a Yukon gold potato terrine topped with dollops of black garlic mayonnaise.

To cap our meal we both ordered their Spiced Chocolate, which topped with cinnamon sponge, a dollop of pastry cream, ginger meringue chips. To pair with our meal we both each enjoyed a glass of their 2019 La Valentina Spelt Montepulciano from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Italy, while my friend also enjoyed a glass of their 2022 Triennes Rosé Cinsault/Grenache from Méditerranée, France. Everything was crafted with such thoughtfulness, and the highlights of our meal were their Cured Hiramasa, which was so precisely sliced that one could have easily mistaken this dish from a high-end restaurant in Japan. The Cappelletti was the perfect amount of food for the second course, as it was the most beautifully plated dish of all and flavorful down to the broth. Their pork collar was so rich and inviting, and almost featured too many sides as when you combine the grits, broccoli and potato terrine, it was all so much at once. Our total bill was 294 dollars as gratuity was already added into the final bill, which was quite reasonable for such a memorable meal. Experiencing a meal to remember, I love that 7 Adams ethos is to pay homage to the idea that time is best spent in the company of your loved ones around a table full of food, as such, the Fisher's and their team have successfully provided a highly-curated experience of a delicious meal, in a sleek yet inviting atmosphere, and a calibrated level of excellent service by the entire staff. I cannot wait to return for that next special meal, and I have no doubt that the accolades, especially that sought after Michelin star will soon be on its way.

I was a big fan of Marlena, so I was super excited to check out their new restaurant 7 Adams for a birthday dinner. The reservation wasn't too hard to get and overall the whole place and vibe felt a lot like Marlena. The servers are attentive and helpful.

My absolute favorite thing is their milk bread and cultured butter. It's still incredible! I always order seconds.

The course menu was hit or miss. I loved the Hokkaido scallop and the winter squash veloute soup was simple but tasty. But the pastas were mediocre -- ravioli was a bit overdone on the edges and the cavatelli wasn't anything special. The proteins in both of the mains were really good -- very tender -- but the sauces were a bit of a miss. The sauce for the wagyu was delicious but overwhelmed the flavor of the meat and the pork felt under sauced. The Yukon potato terrine side was too salty. The desserts were both good though; I particularly liked their seasonal citrus one.

Overall, there's a lot of potential here but I wasn't awestruck!
