      High tea review

We had a great time at high tea at the Hermitage Hotel for my birthday. It was absolutely wonderful and I'd recommend anyone to attend! 18% gratuity is included in the bill, and it is $75/person. It lasts from 2 pm to 4 pm on weekends. Service was amazing, and you can't help but take in the beauty of its historical ambiance. It was worth every penny.

Just to give you some background. I have been coming to this hotel for many years and even had my honeymoon here in 2004. Until now it had the highest standards. NOT ANYMORE. I was very disappointed. Even being upgraded to the Grand King and being an I Prefer member I was very much disappointed in my experience. They even said they would follow up with me on my food service and made one attempt to email and when I sent multiple emails back with my availability to talk, I received no response.

I did receive early check in, which was nice. The Bell men and Valet were exceptional, but that is about it. Once I got into my room it went downhill from there.

First off, the sink faucet was broke, the tub was dirty and I found hairs in the washcloths. It was not what a $800 room should have been like. They did get the mechanic up to my room to fix the issue with the faucet and the cleaners to clean the tub, but they should have been inspecting these rooms daily to make sure they were top notch. Especially on the top floor.

When I arrived back from my meeting, I decided to order room service. Well, unfortunately, the menu in the room was old and the items I really wanted to try were not available. I had to get the chicken, salad and some green that obviously was broccolini but looks like a pile of rubber. The meal was not even edible. The chicken was over salted rubbery skin thighs, the broccolini was over cooked and the salad was literally some greens tossed in olive oil and pepper with no accoutrements. For the price of this meal I was flabbergasted at what I was presented with!

On top of that, I had ordered the 2 for breakfast option for reservation and they still charged me for breakfast! I cannot believe after all this I look at my cc charges and I didn't even get the deal I reserved and even on top of paying for the upgrade. They wouldn't even honor the 25% off discount I received via email.

So, for breakfast, since I thought it was included I decided to order and see if it was any better from the night before. I didn't receive pepper and the server would not even move the plates to the table for me. I called down to get pepper, which took a while, so I requested an additional 30 minutes for late checkout. Well they refused and were very rude to me on the phone. I scrambled to eat with my client, which I was so dismayed by the way I was treated even my client stated they would never stay here after that.

Lastly, when I had them hold my luggage downstairs they had it out in the open where anyone could walk up and just take whatever they wanted. No one was watching it nor was it near the guest services or concierge. DO NOT have them keep your luggage if you decide to go somewhere for a bit before you leave for that day. It will not be maintained nor looked after. photos attached - it is right in the hallway where the bathrooms and dining room are located. My fur and Floyd luggage was just sitting there. I could not believe it!

I have been in the service industry a long time and this is completely unacceptable.

After all I went through, I don't even care for any refunded money, because EVERYONE here should know what a disappointment this was. NEVER will I go back to this establishment as there are plenty of options for less that are exceptional compared to what I experienced here. It is unfortunate that this historic beautiful place has gone downhill so far. It saddens me to write this because it was such a huge part of my life going here for my anniversary each year.

The beautiful and iconic Hermitage, what can one NOT like about this historical landmark! Where service is impeccable and every room well-appointed. Throughly enjoyed our brunch experience in their luxurious restaurant. From plate presentation to every delicious bite and Brandon's service was attentive to our 8 person group. Loved the recommendation of the fluffy omelet and the famous French toast! Location of the hotel makes it very easy to enjoy the Fifth & Broadway area. Very much looking forward to a return when traveling to Nashville!

Old world elegance, marble everywhere, huge rooms, well appointed bathrooms, with TV in the mirror, many extras in the room including dimmers on almost all the lights so you don't have to bring a nite light, USB charging hub, motion lights in the night stand, so you can find your slippers as you slide out of bed.

There is full service, with an excellent restaurant and bar ( Drusie and Darr).

The carpet in high traffic areas, the Veranda, is stained.

Convenient to the capital and downtown.

I came here for afternoon tea on Friday afternoon and had an amazing experience. The tea selection was great and the food was really delicious. I appreciated that they took into consideration my dietary needs. I was celebrating my birthday, and they even made a gluten-free dessert! The staff was attentive and the atmosphere was really beautiful! I can't recommend this enough!

Splurged while in Nashville (had been at a convention out in the sticks at the Gaylord) -- got a "buy 2, get 1 night free" deal over a Thursday - Sunday. The stay at this historic hotel was SUPERIOR! The bellmen/doormen were great! The front desk staff let us check in early and upgraded us at no extra cost to a view room of the Capitol. The room was huge, the robes cozy, the pillows amazing, and the turndown service a pleasant surprise! They even provided umbrellas in the closet that came in very handy over a rainy weekend. Got great dinner recommendations in both the bar downstairs and from the front desk clerk who even made reservations for us when Open Table said none were available. Met the GM in the elevator and she was most cordial! If I could give this property MORE than 5 stars, I would!

Staff were pleasant, accommodating and eager to please. My rooms were quiet, clean, spacious and comfortable. Great location with easy walking everywhere.

Five star for the pillows alone!!

Very happy with my stay here. I've never seen the pillow assortment offered. This is a reason alone to return.
