I've occasionally gone here and had reservations about doing so; however, I decided to go anyways and have usually enjoyed my meal. The cakes are awesome which are reportedly made by Maria. She is the wife of the head chef and pizza maker who… more

Update!! I finally went back 14 months later and got my slice of coconut cake! I ordered it to go because I happened to be driving through. The hostess who took our order was very friendly and efficient and all I have to say is WOW! Totally worth the wait.
Now that I know how good this cake is, I'm really glad I live 40 mins away! Definitely try it if you're in the area.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 2Jan 24, 2023Previous reviewThe food that we were able to get here was very good. However, we weren't able to get half of what we wanted. We went for my birthday dinner specifically for the coconut cake and maybe also the carrot cake. We first ordered the appetizer sampler plate, but it never came. It was on our bill, however, so we had to get that cleared up at the end.
Our service was very slow but they were quite busy and I think our server was overwhelmed. We were there for almost two hours just to have entrees, which were honestly super delicious. I tried everyone's and was impressed with them all.
As we were finishing dinner someone came out and marked coconut cake off the menu board...they ran out. My heart sank but I told the server I would settle for the carrot cake. As she walked off to get it, someone came out and marked that off the menu board too. No birthday cake for me.
So overall the experience was disappointing because I was most looking forward to the dessert and the appetizer, as it looked amazing heading out to other tables. The staff was very nice and we were treated well, maybe we just caught them on an off night for food/service.

I judge all Italian restaurants on their sauce and this one just doesn't cut it. Some of their red sauces were sweet. Some were too thick. Not great.
Someone ordered a ribeye at the table and asked for medium- it came out well done.
Crack cakes have some sort of balsamic on them. Way overpowering.
Service was great. Friendly and fast.
And ir was nice to sit on their outdoor patio. Great Italian wine selection as well. Just would not eat anything except the bread.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ismael I.Fountain Hills, AZ02447Nov 9, 2023

Inconsistency in hospitality and quality.
Would not entirely rule out but not at expense of other Italian dining options that are more predictable.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 22, 2023
We finally made it in- I have been wanting to try this establishment for sometime- I'm here for my 60th birthday!! We got lucky and stopped in on a week day evening and we able to be seated. Our server was very friendly & attentive- we ordered drinks and they came promptly. We decided to share a pizza and it was delicious! The fire Roasting in the fire brick oven really enhanced the flavors- it was super tasty! We also noticed the sample platter at the next table- we are going to try that next visit!! Thanks for a wonderful evening!!

Had a wonderful meal tonight and a show to go with it :-)
Decided to get to-go meals for me and dad but instead of ordering online I wanted to order in person. Sitting at the bar with a glass of wine while ordering/waiting for the food was the plan...and let me tell you I was lucky to find a seat! I literally walked in at 4:20pm, thinking I'd walk out by about 5pm and drive the food home in time for a 5:00 hour meal (dad's 84, after all). When I walked in the door, the hostess was finishing up a phone order and as I look around in shock, she told me that they were also taken by surprise at how early it filled up!
Anyway, I had the perfect perch at the end of the bar to watch everything. Saw every pizza being made and cooked in the wood oven, every dish come out of the kitchen, every patron at the bar, and most of the dining room if I just turned my head a bit. Got my glass of wine & here's their one small misstep: when I really looked at my bill at home, I was charged for the Valpolicella Classico at $15, when I had ordered the Chianti Classico at $12. Do I know what I actually drank? Absolutely not. Was it delicious? Yes. Was it a giant pour? Yes. Was my dad footing the bill? Yes. So I'm not telling him and we'll all be fine.
Somehow the timing was perfect as to me finishing up my giant glass of wine and my to go order being ready. Fortunately it was only a 7 minute drive, so dinner was on the table 10 minutes after I picked it up.
I ordered the Polpo Alla Griglia (grilled octopus) and Linguine Con Vongole (clams in white sauce). The preparation of the octopus was new for me in terms of sauce. I'm used to spanish preparations which don't tend to be sauced. So frankly I'd have preferred it without sauce, but that's a personal preference. The octopus was cooked absolutely perfectly and was full of flavor, as were the accompanying potatoes. The Linguine with clams was absolute perfection. Each small clam was so flavorful (and I LOVE the smaller clams used in this dish), as was the linguine. Dad had the Caprese and spaghetti with meatballs. He enjoyed both very much and both of us will be having the remaining portions of our meals for dinner tomorrow night, as the portions are HUGE.
You can be sure we'll be back...there's a ton of options on the menu and we can't wait to try more!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Richard G.Laguna Beach, CA271313Aug 14, 2023
Casper. Wow 7 years ago. Wish I was closer. If I was a few years younger and a few buck richer, I would jump in my van and come have some Italian food. Hope all is well

Warm and inviting atmosphere, decorated for the holidays. A bit loud inside so we chose to sit outdoors on the patio with the heaters on. I appreciated the waiter bringing my kids pizza dough to play with as it took some time to get our food. I wasn't impressed with the bread that they bring out although the sauce it comes with is tasty.
When it comes to the Chef's Sampler appetizer I was disappointed that it only came with 2 toasted raviolis which were delicious and a huge pile of inedible, tasteless fried calamari so I wouldn't order that again. The fettuccine Alfredo was pretty good and my kids liked their pepperoni pizza. I'd definitely come back if in Fountain Hills but would try out other dishes on the menu.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Veronica F.Ormond Beach, FL02Apr 19, 2024
The bar tender. He is missable. They had a girl and she was very pleasant and efficient so why did they replace him. Probably political.
